Description

Keeping track of kids and managing chores, distance learning, and everything else families do at home these days can be quite the challenge. FamJam is here to motivate your children to engage in chores, school work, good behavior, goals, and more, all while learning responsibility! Designed to be set up by parents and managed by children, FamJam will inspire love, values, and harmony at home. Our goal is to make teaching children more intentional while lowering stress in a clean, organized environment.

FamJam offers a game-style experience that helps kids and parents manage chores, habits, goals, and behavior aligned around shared family values. The kid-friendly visual interface can be used by non-readers all the way up through high school. Families can easily share one device or sync up instantly among multiple devices to ensure everybody is aligned on chores, goals, and actions for the day.

FamJam is a great free alternative or complement to ClassDojo to use at home while distance-learning. You can track behavior just like in ClassDojo plus find many more features to keep your children focused and motivated while doing school from home.

FamJam makes CHORES fun! No more paper chore charts, whiteboards, or printouts. Kids have all they need to organize and complete chores. Create a custom library of your home chores and activities to assign easily and quickly to your family. This kids chore manager helps children visibly see what they need to do each day and take ownership of it. You can set up recurring chores to automate the process of chore assignment everyday. Kids can also create a to-do list for other activities such as exercising, reading, and homework. The fun, easy interface linked to rewards makes FamJam a fun kids chore and activity manager while keeping your house clean and your stress low!

BEHAVIOR can be measured, too! Give positive reinforcement for good behavior instantly while also guiding children with correction when needed. FamJam helps track children’s behavior to see real improvements every day while teaching children to use technology responsibly! FamJam can be set up with your family rules to help enforce the behavior you want at home.

Children can track progress to earn REWARDS that you define. Rewards can range from earning screen time or allowance to a family dance party! Link rewards to chores, behavior, habits, and goals to teach kids accountability. Using the FamJam reward manager encourages positive, sustainable habits in children.

What HABITS do you want your children to establish? Whether it is reading every day, exercising, practicing a musical instrument, or anything else, the FamJam habit manager makes it easy to track progress and ensure kids are consistently working to develop habits. Link habits to daily actions and rewards to inspire the behavior and actions you want from children in a positive way.

What GOALS do your children have? Kids can use FamJam as a tool to track step-by-step progress toward their daily, weekly, and monthly goals. Goal setting for children is an important and often over-looked activity. Teach kids how to set goals and follow-up with them in an easy, kid-friendly interface. FamJam’s goal features make it easy to manage goals for chores, behavior, and habits, all linked to the rewards your kids want!

FamJam is the most comprehensive family and home management app. We have kids, too, and want to make a comprehensive tool that is fun, easy, and motivational for children for long-term use. Children will have fun managing their own to-do list while learning important values of home responsibility and accountability.

BeckonRoeckel,
Great!
I’m loving the app so far! We’ve only been using it for a couple days but the kids are excited about the points.
I’ve read in the reviews that the developers are quick to respond so I’m writing a review to give, and get, feedback.
Firstly, I’d like to be able to edit the individual behaviors to comment on what they did to earn the points. Example: “helping” is a broad thing I can use often so I don’t want to specify in the creation. But I do want to scroll through the history and see that S got “helping” for putting his brother’s toy together.
Next, the kids have a allocated time for chores. I’d like an option to show what that time is, per chore. But also, they get points for having time left over. Is there a way to do the points for the chore, how long it took, and the points for any left over time?
I loooove the fact that a behavior can be dragged to the treasure chest for positive or the red flag for negative. Is there a way to make that for the chores as well? Such as, brush teeth gets points and not brushing takes points away?
Lastly, when I use an icon for a created chore or behavior, can that picture be kept in the apps records for future use? So I don’t have to find it in my photos again.
After all my searching, this is closest to what I am looking for. I applaud the effort and time it takes to make such a product and am grateful there are people who think like me but know how to make things like this! Keep it up!
undecidedkelly,
Love this!
We’re really loving this app but have two pieces of feedback. First, all of your avatars are white/Caucasian. Please diversify your avatars to create a more welcoming and inclusive app. Second, id love to be able to schedule or bunch tasks by time of day. Would be super helpful to have things in morning/after school/bedtime/etc. buckets. Could really help with habits and creating family routines 😉
ohn0o0itsalexia,
Could use some tweaks
I love that it’s cross platform and the kids can even download it on their fire tablets. One major flaw is that you can select an individual point value that has been rewarded and undo it. And there’s no way to undo a goal reward value at all. If we could go into history and delete specific events that would be so much easier than “undo last completion ” or worst case “clean slate”

Also adding another parent account is difficult when u try to share it it prompts you to make an account but then if they already have one you can’t add them as a secondary user.

Just those few tweaks would make it so much more user friendly and less frustrating when your trying to get the hang of it all

UPDATE: THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Being able to edit each action in history makes it SO MUCH more forgiving when you are still trying to figure out how it all works!!!! This is an amazing app!!!
Hodt,
I love the idea!
I have 5 daughters and they each have iPads, which they use for school. I was excited for this app because it doesn’t require the most recent iOS which is awesome because their iPads are old. I wanted something to help create organization and routine in our home. I would gladly give his app 5 stars but for some reason it keeps crashing on 4 of our 5 iPads. The app downloaded on each one, but when I tried to open it, the screen appeared white and then went to the Home Screen. I never could get it to open on our other iPads. ☹️ I did try turning the iPad off and restarting it but it still did not work.
Brian+5,
Best chores app like ClassDojo
This school year started off rocky with distance-learning from home. My kids use ClassDojo at school and I was hoping to find something similar for home. FamJam is a great alternative to ClassDojo for tracking behavior, chores, goals, and habits. Remote learning has gone better now that the children can balance schoolwork and home duties while earning rewards. I highly recommend it for kids doing homeschool or distance learning, especially if they use ClassDojo at school.
Matthew Sensei,
Just the thing!
This was just the thing my family and I were looking for. I’m a bit confused on how the everyday habits feature works, as it requires how many weeks it should continue. If it’s everyday, then by default why should and end date be required. I’d think it better to just assume it continues until further notice. It’d be better to leave it as an option, but not a requirement.
Kasbwelch,
It’s working for us!
I’ve been trying to find an app for my kids to use for chores. It helps keep all of us on task. My 3 boys(ages 9-14) have liked this app better than any other I’ve tried. I had some log in issues in the beginning and Brian was super responsive and helpful in getting it straightened out.
MsMay1986,
Need a better way to add points when the day has passed.
I enjoy the set up of this app for my kids.

But I wish there was a way to look at the calendar backwards, my family gets busy and we forget to add points each day… so I have to go in manually and enter extra points.
EllieBellie11101992,
Love it, but where is the developer support?!
Has this app been abandoned? FAQ & Support links go to unhosted domain, Link to Facebook Community is full of spam!

I’m loving it so far, but having an issue understanding how to keep the kids from editing their own chores. I set the children’s permissions to “Approve” and added them as secondary users- but it doesn’t ask if they are children or adults!

I added the Child PIN- but as soon as you type the child PIN it takes you to their chore profile where they can edit.

This is my only issue so far- please help!
Evy Paz,
Perfect ⭐️
This app is pretty straight forward and easy to use. I love the fact that there are no “in app purchases”, perfect for those of us that can’t afford to pay monthly! I love it! 💕📱
