FanFiction Plus & AO3 Reader Hack 2.4.2 + Redeem Codes

I loved this app. I paid for the ad-free edition years ago and its been good to me. Until cloudflare/capcha. At first, it was just a little annoying, have to verify i’m not some sort of malicious bot or whatever, no big deal. Then it switched to this for every update i tried to do. Inconvenient, but ok. Then it was every 21 chapters, i had to do the capcha, and in the original implementation of this, it would (as others have pointed out) tag you for another capcha, then make you start the download over.

But today, today was the day i gave up. I had literally over a hundred fanfics saved in my phone through this app, and I haven’t been able to update them in over a month, as the cloudflare interface has me check a box, then tries to establish a session, then bombs and starts over.

On top of this issue, I sent 2 different bug reports to the devs to get them to look at this issue, but they have been incommunicado. This being the case, i uninstalled the app, removed all the app’s data and rebooted my iphone. Now, my library is gone and the app is still exhibiting the same behavior when i was simply trying to login.

Devs, get your stuff together and work with the site security admin to remove this issue, or I will not be the last person that finds greener pastures.

I’ve used this app for years and for awhile it worked fine but recently it’s been a pain to deal with, whenever a story is updated it doesn’t actually update and if I go into it and click force update nine times out of ten it just stalls on that loading screen forever, also it pulls up this weird loading screen to fanfic dot net and that used to be fine but now it doesn’t load and also it keeps interrupting my reading by pulling that up and stalling out. The stalling out and it trying to load has caused it to crash a few times as well, the issues popped up suddenly about a year ago so I figured it was a bug that was caused by an update and was hopeful it would be fixed but it hasn’t so I figured posting this review might cause the developers to look into it, I still use this app occasionally but it’s such a hassle that I just only use it to keep up on the stories I had favorited a year ago and don’t look for more on the app. Hopefully the problem can be fixed soon. So i’ve been using this app for so long, i’ve been able to accumulate over 2 devices over 1500 book’s, my first device took a dump, so i switched to my newer device so i can update the app (since my ipod 5 could no longer update the app) and noticed within the last 5 days that my book’s wont update or i cant save any book’s, saying that i cant connect to the servers, i love this app, but i dont want to have to move on with all that i have because of a simple bug) im hoping this get’s fixed soon though so i can get on with reading my book’s.

Update. Now i cant even get into the app to read, this is a bummer. I want to continue reading so bad.

Back in the day this app was my favorite way to read fanfiction. Good layout, easy to use, and functional. But nowadays it seems like every update either breaks the app or makes it worse. I mean, for a solid MONTH, perhaps more, there’s been an issue where attempting to update or download a story not only consistently fails 100% of the time, but any attempt to will lock you out of reading the story with a ‘cannot connect to server’ message. The app has updated a few times since then, but no update has fixed it and attempts to send in a bug report are meant with silence.

Aesthetics wise this is one of the better apps I’ve found, but as time goes on, the sheer incompetence handling updates keeps rendering the app anywhere from buggy to unusable. Which is a shame. In the app’s prime, it was very good. But when you can’t even acknowledge an issue rendering things unusable for over a month… I’d say the prime has passed

I’ve used this app for years, and it used to be amazing. But for the past year or so it’s gone on a downwards spiral in a bad direction. They added captcha (which; yes I know, they can’t do anything about) but that doesn’t make the app any less tedious and annoying. And I’ve been able to tolerate the captcha up until now; because NOW if I’m trying to download, or update a story; it HALTS my downloading progress with captcha. Which then stops any progress I hade been making with downloading my story, and makes me re-download it all over again. And sometimes it takes 3-5 times with captcha just for me to update or download a story. And GOD FORBID you have a story that’s 20+ chapters, because then downloading it with captcha is a nightmare. On top of not being able to read stories sometimes (that I’ve already downloaded mind you) if I’m not on WiFi or using Data. Using the app has just become very frustrating overall

Hi, I just wanted to say that I still really enjoy using this app and I use it all the time! I also want to say thank you for ensuring that even with updates, the button labels still work correctly. I am able to accomplish a majority of the tasks that I wish to accomplish using voice over. I had a thought, and I wondered if others have the same thought. It would be really awesome if my library would sync between the devices that I am logged into using my account credentials. I have an iPhone and an iPad and it would be really great if my library would be the same on both devices. Is there a way to make that happen? That would be really awesome! Thank you for developing and continuing to work on a such a wonderful app!

1. If you do a general check for story updates, the app lists how many updates there are, and offers to run them all. But once updated, it can be very hard to tell which stories were updated (and which were real and which weren’t - there are occasional “false positives” on updates). That little bar showing reading progress is useful at the beginning, but when a story is over 80 chapters, the gray gap gets hard to notice. My suggestion: have a filter to only show stories in the Library with unread chapters.

2. Please add a feature to add stories by ID #

3. When browsing categories, even if the rating filter is set to All, it’s actually showing K-T. You have to switch the rating filter to M, then back to All, to truly show All.

4. It would be nice to have a “write a review” function at the end of a chapter.

5. More sorting functions in the Library would also be welcome, including sorting by the actual last update date for the story instead of the last time the app updated the story.

I love being able to look for fan fiction with this app! It’s easy to use and there’s all kinds of genres and topics to choose from, and I really appreciate the freedom of it. I just wish that some of the authors kept up with their stories! So many unfinished ones.
The only thing I’m confused about is how to share my own fan fiction so others can read it. I understand that this app is primarily for reading stories and not publishing them, but obviously there’s a way to publish them so that people who download this app have access to them. How does that work? I’ve been what seems like all over kingdom come trying to figure that out haha.

Hello, I don’t usually write re Jews but I wanted to let you know that I love this app. It is amazing. I want to give it a 5 star rating like it deserves, but I can’t at the moment. The reason being that it keeps closing out, it will go back to the list of stories that you have. It will go back to the beginning of the story instead of picking back up where you left off. It makes you sometimes search for the stories that you have saved. I have a lot of stories saved and instead of going back to the group of stories, it goes back to the library and then you have to start all over again. Please fix so I can continue enjoying this amazing g app.

Okay, so at first I fell in love with this app, it was good for a few weeks BUTTTT, there’s a few issues: 1) Having to go through all the things until I find the story I was reading, it’s so troublesome for not being able to just read the story where I left off the night before.
2) THERE WAS A FREAKING AD FOR A PORN SITE? It had explicit things, people doing stuff, and although I know olderish people probably read on this, but there’s probably innocent twelve year olds who probably don’t need to be seeing this!! I decided after this little incident that I couldn’t just continue to read on this site for fear that my little cousins or someone might take my phone and end up seeing a porn ad!
