GossamerPink,
Wonderful app! I just have a request
I’m a preschool teacher. I’ve recently started doing Zoom meetings due to the pandemic. I teach 3 year olds and I’m very happy that I get to do felt board stories, rhymes and games with this app. My class loves them! It is easy to use and intuitive. It functions like a real flannel board and I like that you can reduce the size of the objects.

One request I have is for the developers to provide different colours of the same object. For example, I have this game where the kids guess which house the mouse is hiding. Originally, the houses have different colours. But because the house in the app has only one colour, I had to add a number to the house.

Another reason for having different colours for an object is so that they’re easy to see even though they overlap. There’s a rhyme that involves 5 elephants playing in the bathtub that I’m bummed to not be able to do because putting them together in the tub makes them look like they’re 1 entity with multiple eyes and trunk.

So yeah, different colours would be great. I’d even be willing to spend extra for those additional things

Felt Board
Felt Board is a wonderful app that allows a child to easily create scenes or stories from the ground up. Beginning with choosing a background from the 30 provided, to choosing the characters including skin tone and facial features, to clothing worn, animals, nature and so much more. Items added to the background are easily sized smaller or larger. This app is reminiscent of the felt boards used in schools, but much easier to navigate and build. Students/ Children will love the ease of building their story and option to save it . One of the best features I found within the app was the glue bottle which allows one to fuse the parts created together. This cut down on frustration level . Icons identifying the part needed to create from are unobtrusive and easily accessed from the left side. This is a lovely app that will bring hours of fun to those using it. From an education standpoint, it could be used during speech therapy to work on many different concepts and to learn new vocabulary, by OT to practice and use fine motor skills and in the classroom used as a tool to create a story to tell and/or write about. Beautiful colors and graphics.

Great Teaching Tool
This app is so creative and fun. My students are non-verbal or have very low expressive speech & language skills. Felt Board allows us to create stories, pictures or scene that we can connect to literature or experiences. I've found it to be a great way to build vocabulary and to elicit expressive speech and language. I even made a class book using print outs of my students' creations. There are so many ways to use this app other than to "just make pictures": storytelling, cause/effect, fine motor, speech/language, colors, shapes, numbers, letters, spelling, etc. While one student may only be working on choosing colors, another may be using it as a fun way to practice spelling words. This is an app that allows children to use their imagination.
Lchamber,
Nice straight-forward app
I like that once a piece is set on top of the other (e.g. boots on the girl) they all move together, yet you can still move them when directly selected unless you "glue" them. Clever design! The general look and feel is nice, very much like a real felt board. I wish you could put pieces you decided not to use back in the side tray, versus the recycle bin in the corner. This may be confusing for some children. Also, it's a little difficult to scroll in the side tray - when I intended to scroll I kept accidentally selecting items and getting frustrated when multiples piled on the board. This is a very fun app for kids of a variety of ages; I would definitely use this in my speech therapy sessions. It may be a little hard for kids with less developed motor systems to navigate and control, but overall is pretty easy to use. I would love to see more "themes" e.g. common stories (Jack and the Beanstalk etc)
samorron,
Great alternative to traditional felt board!
I loved the variety of scenes/backgrounds that children can work with to create their stories. I also liked the diversity in the characters that can be dressed, played with, etc. Also there are many more categories in this app compare to other scene making apps. This is a great app and unlike any other of its kind. I love the app as both a parent and a teacher. My son (2) was able to easily make scenes to tell stories. I was also able to re-create scenes from stories to retell to my students. This is a great app and makes a great alternative to a traditional felt board.

A Therapy Must!
An app that can be used in an educational setting, but that provides fun and entertainment cannot be beat! This app can be used for spatial concepts, following directions, math, letter recognition, describing attributes, etc. It is very affordable and provides a lot of bang for the buck! I wish more objects could be glued together and that there was a way to save pictures that needed to be completed; however I would recommend this app for use in therapy!
jmkenad,
Great speech therapy app
I often use felt boards, magnet boards and velcro boards in therapy. They can be used any number of ways including for receptive/expressive language, choice making, introduce new vocabulry, sequencing, story telling or narrative skills and articulation. The app is easily used cooperatively with students and is basic enough to cover many themes.

Overall, my students enjoyed the app. The scenes and pieces were illustrated well - everything looked as it should - not too cartoonish. The "glue" feature was a hit!

As a speech therapist who often travels between schools, this app. could potentially replace mulitple bulky items for me!
Game Girl #1,
Awesome app!
Update made a great app perfect. This app is open ended, creative and fun. The new update opened up more choices in backgrounds & felt pieces. Love the way the people parts & accessories fit together naturally now. Tip: to discard unwanted pieces- touch the trash- touch the unwanted item- then touch trash again when you are done. Took me a bit to figure out that one. Really can spend lots of time creating!
KinBton,
Nice for narrative language
Good app for developing narrative language skills: kids can construct a picture and then tell a story about it. Also see uses in the classroom, with the teacher using the app to help illustrate a story or demonstrate a concept. Would like to see some technical fixes, such reducing accidental placements (it seems very touchy and I would often 'place' something while trying to scroll through options), to make this a more seamless application.
Sebemase,
Great App!
This is an amazing app, works well with children of all ages. Gives them a good chance to be creative! Very good for working on following directions and OT work, with special needs kids. Actually, we have had adults playing with this app, talking about when they were in school. My kids tend to go back to this app again and again!
