#bestbf,
App is good, but often crashes
I use this for it’s intended purposes. I log all of my gear; rods, reels, hooks, lures, soft plastics, etc. and I log all of my catches. The app is great for keeping track of catches and all the conditions of each catch. The downside is that this app crashes so often. Like open the app, crash. Open the app, add gear, crash. Open the app, try to start a session, crash. Open the app, session is going for a good 30 minutes, check the phone, crash. It seems like if you look at this app wrong it crashes. If this was fixed it would easily be 5 stars.

Edit: After using this app for a while now, the crashing seems to have gone away almost entirely. It is a fantastic app for logging gear and catches, and using a bullseye makes all that much easier too.

That being said, there are some things this app could improve on. I wish there was a way to select more than one gear during gear selection. For example; sometimes I use a spinner bait with a paddle tail soft plastic trailer. It would be awesome to keep track of both the lure and trailer. Also I often fish with more than one rod. Simply being able to select all the rod combos I’m currently using on a given trip, rather than listing each rod switch as a gear change, would be nice. Lastly, being able to log terminal tackle like hooks, weights, and swivels would be awesome too. 4 out of 5 stars!

Far From Perfect but Still the Best
When paired with the Anglr Bullseye, this is the best app for logging fish. I use it every time I fish and, for the most part, it lets me log catches without getting in my way. That being said, it’s far from perfect.

Data analysis is truly dismal compared to other logging apps. It crashes at least once per trip. The Bullseye doesn’t always connect. You can’t really enter past trips or catches because it won’t save changes you make to the date. The BackTrack function is awful at identifying pictures with fish in it. It’s awkward to use if your using two rods. And in some cases the virtual tackle box is limiting (it lets you enter the bait you're using, but you have to make a separate entry each time you put that bait on a different rig).

It’s good for showing where you catch fish. But it won’t show you where you don’t; and seeing where your wasting your time is crucial information. If you don’t mind finding trends yourself, then this is a fine app. I use the data points to make concentration maps for ponds and river banks. But it would be really nice if it did something with all the data it collects, rather than just mindlessly present it to you.

It’s great as a trophy case, but falls short if your trying to step up your game. That being said, what it lacks in functionality, it makes up for in potential.

All in one fishing app that keeps getting better
First thing I’d like to mention is how much this app improves EVERY month. They are constantly making it better. With that said, this app isn’t perfect, but it’s the closest I’ve found to the type of fishing app I’ve always dreamed of. It’s all my fishing in one place. Unlike other apps, ANGLR uses my personal data to help me improve. It makes tracking my fishing simple and easy by bringing in water and weather conditions automatically when I log catches. Their waypoint management features are incredible. You have to check it out on web. I can explore new lakes I want to fish and drop waypoints on the app and plan my attack before I go. After I record my day on the water, I can quickly pull up and edit catches, and review my trips. Every trip gets its own profile. The conditions tab is money! You can quickly see patterns and trends for next time. I don’t use the tackle feature much. Just jot down in notes on catches. I am planning on grabbing one of the Bullseye trackers to make it even more convenient to use app on the water. Overall, love the app and can’t wait to see what the next release improves.
jd.odell,
Awesome Fishing AND Hunting Tool!
Just wanted to say how much I enjoy Anglr and how I use it to scout duck holes. I live along the Tennessee River (Lake Guntersville). We have several Wildlife Management Areas that are popular among duck hunters; however, there are hundreds of WMA wetland acres inaccessible by duck boats. I’m an old school duck hunter, meaning I love to scout duck holes by foot if at all possible. I feel as if there is less of an impact on the ecosystem by doing so.

I feel it unnecessary to need a hand held GPS system with today’s technology as everything I need is available through my cell phone and the Anglr App/Bullseye system. The beauty of the Anglr system is its simplicity. I simply start Fish Mode and input waypoints as needed. My course (log book) is automatically saved and I can go back to review my logs at any time. I find the “Play” function for each trip log entertaining as I can review exactly where I walked during my scouting trip.

This system is money well spent! Thanks!
KnottyN8,
The app is good BUT..
Customer support is terrible. The app itself (when it works, there are frequent crashes even in the pro version)has some great features that I really enjoy, being able to see where I have been fishing and where along a stretch of bank catches came from is fantastic. Tracking total catches, miles walked and number of total trips is great, except when you forget to end a trip and end up with the drive home logged as an outing. The bullseye device is really cool and a convenient way to log a catch or waypoint… unfortunately the battery life is terrible, I got roughly 3 months of infrequent use out of mine before it died. I found this incredibly frustrating as I had just bought a Lowrance fish finder to connect to Anglr/bullseye when it stopped. Since getting the app in September of 2022, I have contacted support on 3 occasions and got 0 responses other than the auto generated reply. I had really looked forward to using this app for the foreseeable future but now… I just don’t know.
Crapallnamesaretaken,
The App for the serious AnglR
The best and ONLY app for fisherman. If you want to seamlessly log information about your day, weather information, barometric pressure, wind speed/direction, specific spots and even fish catches…… WITHOUT continually removing your phone from your pocket/storage then look no further. This company offers AnglR Tracker which is a very advanced sensor that goes on your rod that logs all of this information for you. You then can use their Web Experience App to view all of this information on your computer/iPad etc. to analyze your day and your time on the water to make better decisions for the next day on the water. Additionally…… after time using this, you can have ALL of your fishing information over a few days, weeks to a lifetime of fishing information in ONE place. A must have for the serious AnglR. Oh yeah… and they keep your information private
rpa011,
Great app, but could be improved
Currently this is the best app I have found when it comes to logging fishing info. I love having all my past trips in a single place and have no complaints with the ease of logging this info . The problem is, when you accumulate a lot of info, it’s not easy to review. Scrolling through 2 years worth of fishing trips trying to determine where I caught them in a particular month / location is difficult. The ability to easily sort past trips by location, time, trip name, etc would be extremely helpful. The entire point of recording this info is to be able to look back and review. If they could implement a way to sort this info as mentioned it would 5 stars from me.

Password Issues (Resolved)
Downloaded the app and created an account. Forgot my password and have not been able to get the reset password function to work. So the app is no longer available to use.
Updated...
After contacting support I was able to reset my password and start using the app. It is an ok app. It is nice to be able to go back and see where you caught fish. If you spend some time setting the app up you can also track what you used to catch the fish. I also purchased the bullseye button. It is also ok. You can mark a catch or way point without going to the phone. But if you want to indicate size, species or lure info you still need to use the phone to input that info. Unfortunately I fish from a kayak and don’t have access to an iPhone charger. The app eats up the battery of my iPhone 7 at a pretty fast rate. I may get 2 hours of tracking time. Not much more. Definitely not going to track a full day of fishing.
Housecat6883,
Could be better
I have been using the app for a few months. I like the fact I can track my fishing trip. I upgraded to “Pro”. Unfortunately I can’t get any of the features to work. When I switch to any map other than the standard or add wind speed or weather the map just turns white. I’ve tried to contact ANGLR through their support, but that’s not working (looks like someone at the company forgot to pay their bill). I recently tried to visit the website and says “page can’t be found”. If the basic stuff that I paid for would work it would be nice. I would also like to be able to search for lakes/rivers through the app so I can research before tournaments. I tried contacting Anglr though instagram (no answer). Not surprised. Unless something changes quickly, I will be looking for a new app.
Pepper34.,
Could use some updates
I have relied on Anglr to chronicle me trips from year to year. It takes the guess work out from season to season tear to year. It is a more advanced app than others in the industry. I feel that if the app would have an option for man made lakes as far as the river flow on the man made lakes it would be nice. I often have to remember to initiate a fishing trip before I loose cell service. I do wish that I could access the app off line a bit more. Anglr is definitely my go to app for logging my trips and being able to look back and figure what worked and what didn’t. I’m an Anglr fan for life. Please make off line use an option. And river flows for man made lakes an option.
