Five Suits Lite (formerly named "Five Crowns Lite") is a turn-based card game based on the Five Crowns game by Set Enterprises, Inc. With this lite version, you can play 6 rounds of Five Suits on a single device against other players in the same room or against the computer. The lite version also includes a free trial of Wild Card Protection for up to 10 games. The full version of the game Five Suits Connected is available in the App Store. The full version adds the following features: (1) play online games against friends and family or find new opponents from around the world, (2) access to online leaderboards tracking most wins and lowest score, (3) play full 11-round games, (4) access to in-app add-ons to assist in game play including Wild Card Protection, Ask AI for suggested moves and Game Log which reports every move in the game, (5) different background options and (6) access to new features as the game is improved. The objective is to obtain the lowest number of points after playing all eleven hands of the game.
The game consists of two 55 card decks ranging from 3's to Kings of 5 suits. There are an additional 6 Jokers in the deck. In the first round, 3 cards are dealt to each player. Each round the cards are reshuffled and an additional card is dealt to each player. This continues until each player is dealt 13 cards in the last round.
Each turn starts by either drawing a card from the deck or picking up the top card from the discard pile. The turn is completed by discarding one card. A player can meld some or all of his or her books and/or runs during any of his or her turns. When a player melds all of the cards out of his or her hand they "open". When a player is able to open, the remaining players each have one last turn. Each player will pick up a card, lay down a card and meld his/her books and/or runs to remove those cards from his/her hand. The remaining cards count as points against him/her for this round. The player who goes first in each round rotates. Play continues until the eleventh hand when the Kings are wild. The player with the lowest score wins.

The latest version of Five Crowns Lite introduces a new way to arrange your hand and to meld cards. Drag and drop is now available to move cards around in your hand. Long tap any card and drag it to its new position. This will insert the card in the position where you drop it and shift the remaining cards down. You can also quickly swap the card showing at the top of the deck with any card in your hand. The old method of swapping cards by tapping two cards is also still available now giving you two methods to arrange your hand.
For melding cards, you can now multi-select the cards you want to meld and complete the meld by drawing a line through the cards you want to meld together. First tap the Meld Cards button, then draw a line starting outside of the cards. When you end your line, the meld will be attempted with the cards that you touched. The old method for selecting each card individually for melds is also still available.
Additionally, I have incorporated recent feedback and made the following changes:
- games with one human player automatically moves between turns without a prompt making offline games move faster
- made buttons slightly larger
- fixed a bug that would prevent melds if you select a card and then unselect it

For those having a hard time seeing the cards (like me), I've added a long-press pop-out for all cards - including the melded cards at the top of the screen. Touch and hold any card and it will blow up so you can see exactly what it is.

- Added last player's move to hand view (player picked up a new card or player picked up the card showing). This is an excerpt from the Game Log add-on which provides details on every move in the game
- Saves configuration for offline/local games including number of players, names of players and if they are computer players making subsequent matches easier to restart
- Shows cards that are pre-melded and removed from your hand at the top of the screen so you can now view those cards each turn. Also added more opportunities to "unmeld" and bring the pre-melded cards back into your hand giving you the opportunity to discard or rearrange those cards.

Good practice for Five Crowns
This game is great practice for Five Crowns! Additionally, I was having trouble with the size of the cards and the support person was very patient and told me how to change it.

Great Game, But Occasional Scoring Errors
This is a very fun game, and 95% of the time works smoothly. But occasionally, it records an incorrect score. For example, I was playing a two-player game. The other human player opened. After I melded, I had one 7 card left. The game scored me 37! Check your score each hand!

A little hard to get used to at first
A little hard to get used to at first, but once we caught on, it plays like the real thing. Love the “Oh, yeah”, when you meld your cards!

Just played 5 crowns lite for the first time, & couldn’t stop until it’s conclusion! It was speedy, as there was clearly no waiting for opponents to take their turn👍. Totally fun!
