I hate the way this app works,
Wish there was the option for transparent background
Fun little app. Not too expensive and you might actually be able to make something awesome, that could be used as an asset in other works of art. I just wish that this app and the other “Inspirit” had transparent backgrounds. I’m curious if the much more expensive computer versions would have that. I don’t see why the iPad can’t have more packed into it. I would gladly spend more on this app if it came fully packed with creative tools.

Fantastic! With a touch more it could be a powerful tool!
I love FP for the PC, but have wished I could use it with the iPad pencil. Now I finally have that option and I love it. You really have to experience the joy of watching the flames dance and grow as you draw with them. It's amazing both conceptually and in execution. The particle brushes here aren't like anything you find in Photoshop or Procreate. They have a life of their own and don't paint the same stroke twice!
It looks like a lot of new features were added in per request, so it's nice to see the app evolve.
Personally I wish for a number of features like layers, or at least the ability to save as PNG with a transparent background. That way, I can export my flamework into Procreate or another app. Some of the interface is a little hard to understand, but I also love its cool looking design, so it's ok. I had trouble importing my own work that was about the same size as the canvas, but maybe that can be resolved in the future. Really, for a $1.99 app this is actually pretty epic, and a great way to experience the fun in a compact package.
I'd be willing to pay more money for more features. There's really no parallel for these effects in other apps, it works wonderfully with the pencil, so it really could be a far more powerful tool than it is at the moment.

My bad, confused with another app
Interesting concept, but can do almost nothing without purchasing the “full” version.... The pictures in the app description show many tools you cannot actually access unless you buy the full version... also, I am not sure if this is a “full” feature or not, but you can’t even adjust the colors or the intensity/ opacity. The pixel sizes it supports also could be much higher quality, at least twice as large. I would think- not sure if that is a feature in the “full” app too- it is not clear what is actually included if I were to pay to unlock the full app.

Speechless
I am completely speechless with this app! It is absolutely amazing! It looks like your playing with magic! And you can take pictures that make it look like magic. It's it like any of those other apps where you can just pic a design and stick it on the picture. You actually get to create your own design and colour and even change speeds and thicknesses. It costs 99 cents to get all the features and is COMPLETELY worth it!

My 7 year old son loves FP for iPad,
I use FP app on OSX to create its super cool particle effects and brushes. Saw this for iPad and bought it for my son who is enjoying it, along with other fractal apps he likes to play with!
One enhancement that would add value is verification when trash can icon is hit. Sometimes when eraser is wanted the trash can is hit!

Good for TEMPORARY Entertainment...NOT ARTWORK 👎😫
So many problems with this app.
MAIN PROBLEM - Images are saved with JAGGED edges, even in the paid for "Pro" version. The antialiasing is minimal to nonexistent. The handful of images I created, had to be manually smoothed in Photoshop Touch. The desktop versions (Windows and MacOS) of the app support much better antialiasing.
Support - Support only exists for the desktop apps, NOT THE iOS VERSION.
Pales in comparison to the desktop apps from the same company - The iOS app's capability are SEVERELY LIMITED compared to the desktop app. No valid excuse for this.
Cannot specify image size. - You are RESTRICTED to just two built-in image sizes. A ridiculous limitation.
Cropped images - Unless you load an image that fits nicely within one of the two built-in image sizes, YOUR IMAGE WILL BE CROPPED BEYOND YOUR CONTROL. Yuck!!!
Long story short, avoid this weak app if you are trying to create artwork.

I love this! I can just press my finger down and leave it there and the thing will make something that looks like a star, I freaking love this! I also mix different colors like a lilac and sea green and swirl them around each other and it SO pretty! Absolutely 5 out of 5 stars, or more like 7 out of 5 to me!

No updates for iOS 11 ??
So flame painter is amazing. I bought the iPad version recently so I can design on the go. Unfortunately I have to give a low rating because I have paid for an app I can no longer use. It matters not the statement “working on iOS 11 update” is listed. iOS updates are not secrets. The developer should have been working on this before continuing to take money for a worthless (in its current state) app. How about a timeline for getting it done? Don’t promise. Deliver.

So glad this is back
When I contacted the team several months ago I was lead to believe it would be discontinuing the Mack side of things specifically the iPad support but I’m glad to see is not true looking forward to getting back into this again.

Frustrated... 5 stars if they add a confirmation before erasing work...
Frustrated... 5 stars if they add a confirmation before erasing work, also a undo redo tool would be nice... It's really an Awesome app otherwise. I have been able to create some neat logo ideas. Its really fun and easy to use. It is also annoying how easy it is to accidentally delete what you are working on due to a poorly located erase all in one tap button.
