Add iCloud sync
Love this app for the ability to view 2-4 pages at a time (very helpful for viewing PowerPoint slides), the updated highlight features to add multiple colors to not only the highlight, but pens as well.
The only missing thing that continues to boggle my mind as to why it has not already happened as multiple other note taking apps have been able to accomplish this successfully, is the iCloud sync across devices. I am so tired and it’s very frustrating to have to remember which device I took notes on instead of me being able to use whatever device I want and be able to access my most recent up to date set of notes. I shouldn’t have to backup my notebook and then recover it on another device. This is why I have not fully transitioned to using Flexcil for my needs.
Developers, please fix this sooner rather than later. Thank you.

APP crashes on iPad Pro 5th Generation
I am currently experiencing a significant issue with the app on my 5th generation iPad Pro. After launching the app, it consistently crashes after about 20 seconds of usage. I reported this problem back in May, but it has remained unresolved for over two months. Initially, I had hoped that it would be resolved with time, but it is disheartening that despite the issue being identified, no improvements or fixes have been implemented for over two months. This situation is incredibly frustrating as I have stored university lecture materials for over a year, and now I cannot even transfer the backups without the app crashing every 20 seconds, rendering it completely unusable. I have no choice but to purchase a different app for the upcoming semester and wait for this app to be fixed. While this app is genuinely excellent, the critical drawback and the company's silence as a consequence of patiently waiting make it imperative for those who have important data or materials to consider using a different app. Moreover, since I cannot retrieve my backed-up data, there is nothing I can do personally to resolve this issue. This entire situation is incredibly disappointing, and I strongly encourage individuals who have important files, documents, or future references to opt for an alternative app.

The bug that really annoying in the highlights. When I use black ‘or dark’ paper, the highlights don’t appear. Actually it’s the main reason why I use other app for my homework because dark paper doesn’t hurt the eyes.
I find myself waiting for every update to read the description with a hope the these two features has been added or not. Until then I don’t find the app meets my needs from it.

Bad flipping pages in landscape 2 page view
In the first Flexcil you could have your notes on one side of the screen and when you flip the pages it goes to the next page but you don’t have to move your notebook page. Not with Flexcil 2! For some reason on Flexcil 2 when you flip to the next page it skips the page that’s under the notebook. So no more of the seamless experience of going on to the next page and leaving the notebook page there. You have to do this awkward moving your notebook to the other side of the screen to see the second page and then flip it and then move it back to the other side of the screen again. For all the features you guys are adding for Flexcil 2 why not keep the features from the last Flexcil. And using Flexcil 1 has all of this annoying stuff about upgrading and promotions. Why? Why would I upgrade to lose basic features?

Please can you make a desktop version of this? Not for highlighting and note taking but to ORGANIZE, rename and reference/copy & paste from existing files!
Its unnecessarily annoying to try to organize, rename, move etc files on an ipad. It would also make it so you dont have to download everything to each platform or keep it in the cloud. You could go in, once, download readings to your computer, upload them to flexcil with the correct name, and then access from the tablet.
Also there needs to be a way to open your highlighted doc in desktop flexcil so you can quote or copy/paste text to other desktop programs (google docs, word). It is clunky and sometimes impossible to alway have both computer and tablet operational, or to manually retype… in 2022? Absolutely naaaurr.

DO NOT BUY THE PLANNER
I wasted $12 buying their digital planner within the app. First off it’s a pain to navigate. You have to constantly switch between pencil and gesture mode just to get around if you don’t feel like flipping through 450+ pages, one by one. It’s clunky and unwieldy. Still, I probably could’ve dealt with that if that was the only issue.
What I cannot deal with is the fact that I took a bunch of notes and made up some schedules for very important assignments I have coming up. They are all now GONE. My planner is completely blank and now I have to start from scratch. I made the notes Friday, closed the planner for the weekend, and, Monday morning, signed on to discover everything gone. So thanks for that, guys. Super helpful for me to have to do all this work twice. Well worth the $12.
I’ll be deleting the entire app once I’ve saved my data from it.

Way better than Goodnotes
The floating toolbar and formatting gestures are my favorite things. It’s more stream lined than GoodNotes. It doesn’t have everything but it’s not missing features that I need. The opposite is true, Flexcil has more features that I love than GoodNotes does. I use it for digital planning, and textbook annotations. I’m just so blown away by the annotation features. The recorder is also amazing for language learning and lectures. The floating toolbar and extremely fast hyperlink navigation from page to page are a game changer for digital planning. Even “lag free” planners have a split second delay in GoodNotes, but it’s instantaneous in Flexcil LOVE

Great App!
So I’ve used Flexcil for about a year now. I got it specifically so I can write on Powerpoint slides as other apps didn’t seem to allow you to do that in the free version.
Everything you can do in the free version of the app I got it for that purpose even though I have the full version. Your notes are organized into little notebooks and you can name them whatever you want to. When you get you get the free version you have more customization and tools but I dont use very many outside of the straight line highlighter tool and a few colors. Then again, I’m not the most diligent note-taker.

Good, not great
I recently switched from Goodnotes because I only really use my iPad for reading books/documents and annotations, so I wanted an app geared more towards those needs. Flexcil is great for that but my biggest complaint is the lack of syncing across devices. That was the reason I kept Goodnotes for so long because I could save a document to Goodnotes on my computer and edit it, then open my iPad or phone and it would automatically be there. The dropbox feature is not helpful in this regard, in fact, it creates more work. Besides other smaller complaints in the other reviews, if syncing was added this app would be a really great option for students.

Great for going paperless
I have been using this app for Stage Management and interview and it’s been fantastic! I love the ability to have different pen for when I’m taking blocking note, the pop up note pad is great and I love that you can change the notebook assigned to it.
One of the main features I would love to see in a future update is the ability to set a pdf page or just create my own temples pages. I know I can just duplicate a single page but it would be nice to pair it with the function that lets you swipe to create a new page.
