Description

MOST POWERFUL PRODUCTIVITY TECH

The free FOCI productivity app is designed to be used with FOCI productivity devices - available at https://fociai.com/

FOCI affords a revolutionary biofeedback training, that goes beyond tracking emotion states, to empowering you to actively modulate your emotion states and focus.

Clip to the waist, it records 6 types of basic emotion states, 5 negative emotions, 2 key emotion metrics, as you work. Beneath the hood, it analyzes the minute ebb and flow of diaphragmatic breathing from the waist, with machine learning that in just 3 days, not only differentiates your physiological features to read emotion states, but affords a breakthrough in biofeedback training to help you learn to calm from stress, tune out distractions, and get into deep focus.

CUTTING EDGE PRODUCTIVITY TRACKING
* Machine Learning: profiles your physiology and translates breathing patterns into emotion states.
* Emotion Records: tracks emotion states, such as focus, distraction, stress, calm, fatigue, and flow, during seated work.
* Negative Emotion Analytics: evaluate risks of frustration, distractibility, procrastination, burnout and anxiety that impact productivity.
* Deep Work Session: provides actionable in-work stats, such as mental performance, flow traction metrics, and tension overload.
* Productivity Reports: summarizes focus and tension level, through the course of a work session, along with key productivity metrics.

REVOLUTIONARY PRODUCTIVITY BOOST
* Distraction Alert: customizable tactile feedback, to cut short various states of distraction, such as stress and fatigue.
* Biofeedback Training technology: learn to consciously control attention and tension levels, to help you adjust work states and improve mental performance.

Here is a brief guide on the 3 most common use scenarios

1. Focus scenario

If: you feel like you are more focused than what it tells you
Then: tell ML [distraction is more like focus]

If: you feel like you are not as focused as it tells you
Then: tell ML [focus is more like distraction]

2. Tension scenario

If: you feel like you are more tense than what it tells you
Then: tell ML [distraction is more like tense]

If: you feel like you are not as tense as it tells you
Then: tell ML [tense is more like distraction]

3. Robustness scenario

If: you want to improve ML robustness to give you similar inference on your emotion state
Then: tell ML [‘emotion state’ is general reflective]

besapre,
Couple bugs but app functions great on main features
My purple circles do not show any data when tapped, unlike the other colors which function properly on the daily focus circles screen. Also would love to see practical strategies when the different levels of approaches are suggested when encountering various loops. Like when it says check focus level 3 or whatever - would love a button that gives you a quick stands saying the practical advice we might find in the booklet - so if I am not with my booklet in that moment I can still try to fix my behavior then and there.
8BitBrett,
I’ve LOVED the foci so much since it first started but…
I was an original backer of the first Foci. It helped me not only see trends in my daily energy levels. It actually was part of the reason I was diagnosed with narcolepsy. It would show massive amounts of fatigue throughout my days but I didn’t “feel” tired. Little did I know my normal level of energy was similar the amount of energy a person has after a 24 hour shift of hard labor. I was so thankful for this being so important to my life I quickly backed the foci 2 as soon as I could! But now the app and device has gone down hill so much. I’ve sent so many requests for help that usually just get marked as solved without ever responding. Right now the app will not update your deep focus time unless you close the app completely and reopen it. It can be annoying when you just want to see how your day is going. My latest issue of my foci 2 not vibrating at all for any of the streaks I usually have 2, the focus slip and fatigue. This is a massive issue for me because the fatigue notifications helped track and warn of narcoleptic sleep attacks. I know it’s not designed for that purpose but it really helped me track it. I reached out through the app feedback on the 29th I’ve sent 3 messages adding info to the issue as I find out more and still have heard nothing back… I seriously love this device so much but it’s almost become unusable and it’s so upsetting.
Digitalfigment,
Great App But Needs Dark Mode
Overall a great app, but I would love to see dark mode made available for when I’m doing meditations in a dimly lit room.

As one of the first backers of Foci they’ve come a long way. I’d love to see how this application evolves over time. It does take some time for the machine learning component to reflect more precise information. Patience is needed in the beginning, but worth the effort when used daily.

Make dark mode available or let the user choose their own background color or upload their own background image and I’ll give the app 5 stars.
appreviewerOK,
Awesome update!
Well done guys! Have had Foci for a few months now and it just keeps getting better and better! Super impressed by the new emotions tracking from this release. Was wondering is there a way to have records for the negative states? Keep up the great work and can't wait to see what comes next!
Anythingthatsnottaken123456789,
Feels like a beta
Really feel like I got a beta product which is a bit annoying. Nothing about how to use the product is clear, including the exercises in the app which don’t have clear instructions (as well as fade out before you’ve had a chance to read and digest them). As a result it’s not clear if it’s actually doing anything. The status in the app never seems to match what I’m actually doing or feeling so I can’t say if the device is actually working. Really cool idea but seems too early to have released. Hoping it gets better with firmware and app updates in which case I’ll be glad to update my review. But at this point this device is generating more frustration then focus.
Asatly,
A+ for the Foci device, but D for the app design
The Foci device is amazingly accurate at picking up on how focused you are, but the app design is confusing and the font is tiny. I’ve had my Foci for a year now and still only understand the main page of the app that shows my real-time focus. I don’t understand and can’t find many of the other pages and can’t find any documentation to explain these other pages.

Wish the developers would look at the Fitbit app to see how to design a clear, easy to understand app. This Foci app seems to be designed by nerds for nerds.
ThinkHappy,
Full of bugs that make it unusable
I have owned a device since the beginning. The developers put very little effort into fixing bugs. I have had several recurring bugs. Eg, the device gets associated with ‘another’ account, without me changing any login details, and I have to reset it and go through the lengthy machine-learning process again. Currently the device stays at zero percent focus no matter what I do. Contacting the developers just leads to excuses, like ‘your app is not up to date’; which it is. This was an extraordinary idea based on research — however lazy developers have ruined the implementation.
Steph0086,
Studying for exams
I got my FOCI for studying for this summer’s exams, and it was a big help in terms of alerting me when I was getting distracted (especially the vibrations), also when I was tired and needed to take a break. Now just started final year of Uni, and checking FOCI and using the biofeedback are key parts of my library routine!
JDCFOCIREVIEW,
It’s quite hard to set up
I just received my FOCI from Indiegogo which I was really excited about. However, the pairing/ installation process was a pain. The app didn’t recognize my device and could only get there by removing and reinstalling the app four times. Also, it’s impossible to place my product without hurting my nails and impossible to remove the device without damaging my pants.. :/ So far not satisfied, but let’s see how this goes and I’ll update my review.
kriscothelatteboy,
Enjoying thus far!
I’ve had it only shortly so it isn’t super calibrated to me yet, but I’m liking it! Hoping that maybe you could add an Apple Watch app so I can have a visual for when my focus changes.
