I have been an off and on user of Focus for a long time. The latest update adds much needed UI love, and works so much better, especially on my iPad. Great work!
One area I think could use some love is the Apple Shortcuts. I can only speak for myself here but being able to add new tasks using Apple shortcuts would vastly improve my workflow. For example, it would allow me to create a shortcut to import all my daily tasks from Reminders. If I had a wishlist the two shortcuts would be “Create task with title and date” and “Filter/find existing tasks” to complete the “search and sync” features using shortcuts.
Additionally, a game changing feature would be the ability to automatically trigger the app to change the OS level Focus modes when starting/stopping sessions (or maybe just trigger shortcuts instead). For now I use Apple shortcuts to start DND at the same time as starting a Focus timer in the app, but I would love to be able to exit DND during breaks and automatically resume DND when my break is over.
Overall this is a great update and I love seeing it! The simplicity of this app makes it one of the best, and with some of the features above I think it would stand above the rest for me and instant 5 star.
I am going to resubscribe for now. I know you can’t promise anything but I wanted to be sure to share my thoughts.

Can’t say enough good things about this app! I’m studying for a promotional exam currently and this app has helped me know when to take breaks but not for too long. There are plenty of options to customize and very helpful to have it on many platforms to use on the go or while at a desk. Keep up the great work with the app! If I could give one suggestion, which is actually more of a request, I would like to see a kid mode or kid options in the app that could help them see a timer for brushing their teeth or bed time reading of some sort. I also have some kids that are close to being teenagers and as they use the app it would be cool for them to be able to customize the background timer as a cool image of choice. Anyway, something to consider and explore for the future. It was just a thought during my study break. I need to get back to the books. Great app, studying is rough but much better when you have something that just tells you when to do it! Thanks again!!

I am a too lazy of a person to write any review, but I like this app and wanted to share some information and suggestion about the app.
As a law student, I have been feeling anxious, uncertain if I am putting in enough hours for my school work, and this app does a great job letting me track how long I did the work each day. I like that I can adjust a number of minutes for each session In because most of apps only provide pomodoro style 25 minutes as an option. Also, I love that I could have the app fill the whole screen so I could start it again. Before using this function, I always missed hitting the start button again that I ended up deleting similar types of apps because of imprecise hours tracked.
If I may make some suggestions- it would be nice if I could label how many hours I spent on each task. Just a chunk of hours logged only gives me an idea that I did something, but looking back, j don't know on which task I spent my time. Also, a stick or pie graph that shows how many hours I focused on each different task would make this app the greatest. I have been looking for one but there's none that has those functions.

Watch app looks great, but is unreliable
My primary use case for this app is on my Watch. I rely on it to tap when it’s time to take a break, or when my break is done. However, it fails to consistently do this – sometimes I get the tap as expected, other times I’m working away and realizing that it’s been much more than 25 minutes, why didn’t it tell me? When I look, sometimes the complication is waiting for me to respond, other times it’s counting time *up* instead of down!
Also, “Sessions Until Long Break” has been consistently off by one. I have it set to 4, but it actually takes 5 sessions before I get a long break. (Does it start counting from zero internally? I’ve just tried setting it to 3 to see what happens.)

Use This App Every Day
I tried a number of Pomodoro timer apps across my phone and Apple Watch. They were all pretty good on the phone. Some had a little more functionality than others including premium services. The big issue was with the watch part of the app. I wanted the watch and phone apps to sync and I wanted to have the watch as the main controller while working. I work from home and often don’t know where my phone is during the day but the watch is always strapped on. With Focus the session modifications are managed on the phone. Once they’re set up the sessions can be controlled solely on the watch. I had questions about a couple things and emailed the developer. He was very responsive and helpful. So far I haven’t purchased the premium product but plan on buying it soon.

I’m an avid writer and keeping track of my writing sessions has always been somewhat of a challenge. That was until I discovered the pomodoro technique. Intuitively, I began looking for an app to assist me in tracking my sessions. Luckily, I found Focus. I have to admit that at first I was very skeptical. Actually, I gave up on Focus at one point. But I simply couldn’t find anything better. Then, they released an update around the release date of the iPhone X and it was everything I was looking for in a pomodoro tracker with the analysis, insight and stability lacking not only in the previous version but also from every other version of every other pomodoro tracker app. If you are a productivity app junkie like me, look no further. This app is easily in my top 3.

The only focus timer you'll want!
I have loved Focus and been a fan of its design and function since 2016. I remember thinking that I didn't need a Pomodoro timer, but that I wanted to try out the app. I'm glad I did. If you find yourself needing to focus without distraction, and want to allow your self. Some breaks in between focused sets of work, look no further. This application has a great watch app, iPhone, iPad, and Mac counterparts. The Team has really done a great job with this update! You can drag OmniFocus task right into it, or use their "Add to Focus" Share Sheet feature in Things, for example. This way you can set aside time to focus on your important tasks for the day. Keep up the great work.

No Watch support for series 1 & 2
Saw that this was watch compatible, and downloaded it for that reason. Perhaps that support only started with watchOS 6, but I find that doubtful since it was only made available (to séries 3 and above) a few days ago. As watchOS 6 is not yet available for Series 1 & 2 watches, I’m unable to download and use it with my watch. Disappointing. While it’s important for developers to keep up to date with OS updates, and I would otherwise appreciate the timeliness, there’s no reason to drop support for a previous version of an OS when it’s not yet available for all devices that will support it. Glad I have not yet paid for this app. I don’t mind the subscription fee, as I understand the work involved in app maintenance and development, but I would have been livid if I’d been a paying subscriber and support for my watch was dropped before the watchOS update became available for me. Not exactly a fair way to handle things IMO.

Trying to get money for nothing
I downloaded this app for some help with activity tracking and time management. You can basically do nothing with the free version and have to sign up for the yearly subscription of $40 (for a Pom timer) with a free trial of only 7 days. First of all, that’s just wrong. That’s just hoping people will forget to cancel. Secondly, even if you cancel on the same day it doesn’t take effect for sometime. My app somehow is charging me for the full year even though I cancelled the very same day! How do I know? I looked to make sure on SATURDAG THAT I DIDNT I HAVE ANY ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTIONS AND I DID NOT. Suddenly it shows up today as not being cancelled and is charging me for the $40. Not really sure who is at fault here, Apple or the app. I don’t think I am because I checked literally twice last week. I’ve never given a bad review for an app even if I chose not to use it. But this just takes the cake.

It would be awesome if it didn’t crash 20 times a day
I use this app to study in med school as i don’t really know how to take breaks and at first it really helped me a lot. Now it has gotten more and more annoying that every time (E-V-E-R-Y T-I-M-E!) i get a notification on my ipad that my session has ended and I go into the app it crashes and i have to reopen it. Also i downloaded it on my iphone and computer so when i take breaks i can stand and use my phone to know when the break has ended, but to say that the syncing of time between devices is glitchy would be an understatement. And i bought a whole year subscription so now im stuck with all of this😡.

And its not my end as i got friends with the same app and same problem so it seems like a software problem.
