Admittedly, one has to be an OG fan of the 1980's no-graphics character based "adventure" genre to understand what anyone would see in this. Kids, ask grampaw if you don't understand.
That said, this particular iteration is quite entertaining, not insanely difficult, and original.
NOTE: If you're looking for something to kill time on a plane ride, this isn't it. The narrative includes occasional pauses of indefinite length, meaning you have to do something else in the meantime. These interruptions would drive you nuts if you planned to play straight through, or even for more than 10-15 minutes at a time. I don't consider this a flaw; in fact it allows you to dip in and out of the game over a considerable period. After one successful play, you can revisit any fork and replay from there making different choices, a very nice feature that keeps this game from being something dead and disposable after you've completed it once.
