Description

"a new HDR app that pushes the envelope for what is possible on the iPhone camera" - Life In Lofi

"Fusion sets the bar on all other HDR apps" - Combo Apps: Mobile Extreme Editing

"shows you what truly great HDR photos can look like" - iPhone Photography School

Fusion creates HDR (high dynamic range) photos by capturing different exposures and then combining them into one perfectly exposed photo. The result is an image that overcomes the limited range of a digital image sensor and reflects what the human eye can actually see.

By taking advantage of the new burst mode in iOS 8, Fusion takes three bracketed exposures in 3/10ths of a second. The brackets can be automatically calculated based on algorithmic analysis of the scene, or manually specified. Exposure can be locked using a spot meter mode similar to a DSLR and can also be manually adjusted. A histogram gives you the technical info you need.

You can save multiple shots to the recent sessions list or go directly to the Fusion editor. The editor instantly aligns the photos to remove any slight camera movement and then presents an initial fused result. Then Fusion blends the best exposed areas of the under exposed and over exposed brackets, with the main bracket.

The shadow/highlight controls allow you to get the look you want. From subtle lighting improvement to intense HDR. The editor includes all the adjustments you'll need to create a beautiful photo. Basic lighting adjustments and white balance as well as color controls.

The session list stores the bracketed photos as you shoot and allows you to go back and re-open sessions for editing.

dna.x,
Paid version has ads obscuring interface
Does a pretty good job of merging the bracketed images. I like that you can go into the library and adjust the sliders on the spot or later. But it would be nice to have the option to automatically save the merged image to Photos. They lose 2 stars for ads in a paid app. That's a big no-no!

I bought this as part of a bundle and still have to see ads, their own, which they call 'messages'. A 'message' which annoyingly obscures part of the interface and won't go away until I click on it and am taken to another screen trying to sell me on more of their products is still an ad. I want to whip out my phone and take a photo of a landscape without having to jump through hoops to get rid of ads which are in my way. ECP: Do not annoy your paying customers if you want them to ever buy another app from you.
Jock Gill,
Greatly extends the capabilities of the iPhone
The small camera sensor in the iPhone can only produce images with a limited dynamic range. Fusion's ability to align and merge three exposures, taken with a single release of the shutter button, allows it to create iPhone images of significantly expanded dynamic range. Problem solved. An interesting feature is the ability of the app to create asymmetrical brackets. The shadows might be 2.5 stops over and the highlights only a 1.5 stops under - all determined automatically by the app. One benefit is that blown out sky details with a nasty cyan tint are no longer a problem. Lastly, the app has very use full set of tools for adjusting all of the key parameters in the merged image. The app will be improved once the creators enable an end to end TIFF workflow. The present version can merge even 22 meg TIFFs from other sources, but can only output up to 10 meg JPEGs. All in all, Fusion HDR is very highly recommended.
xdacy,
Won't work with existing pictures.
I bought this, wanting to merge some pictures I had already taken with another camera using exposure bracketing, but this app apparently only works with pictures taken within the app. A big letdown. Wish I had known this since I have many other apps that can already do what this one does. If it ever supports camera roll pictures for creating HDR, I will up my review rating.
DudemanLA,
Awesome 👩🏻👌🏻🍄☀️🌺🌸
Great app for contrast the scenes. Ever have a photo where you get the foreground expose but the sky is over exposed or vice versa this app fixes that takes three pictures and merges it together and then you have controls after to tweak it like temperature sharpness exposure highlights etc.
They do have a little tutorial but the trick is move the Square to where you want the exposure to be then lock the exposure by tapping the lock button and then do the same for the focus but you can do the focus in a different area after you lock in the exposure.
I went hiking today and took some really great photos with this app. Read the in-app guide which was very helpful

Stevearcher,
A forgotten jewel!
I've bought, literally, hundreds of iOS apps, most in the photography/videography category. At some point in the not too distant past, I bought Fusion but failed to fully assess its capabilities. So it was ignored in my Camera folder. Finally, I methodically compared identical high contrast subjects taken with six different apps that claimed hdr enhancement. Fusion proved to be clear winner in producing high resolution merged shots capturing full tonality and detail! Plus, it offers all of the adjustments to achieve perfect shots. Really impressive! (Hope that the developer continues to upgrade this fine tool.)
Sjguy,
It works fine. Interface needs polishing.
Does what it's suppose to do. The interface however leaves much to be desired. Include the Photo Library as a main choice instead of going thru the Help and More button. Easy access of the photo library is the most important option for photographers. I rarely use my iPhone or iPad to take photos and I bet most photographers don't as well.
Sibelinof,
App quits on latest iOS release
I have used this app for a while now and it was working fine until the latest iOS update. Every time I take a picture, the app crashes. I tried to contact support and their support access page gives you 15 seconds to write your help request before you have to punch “I’m not a robot” before you continue. I don’t what joker thought that was a good idea, but until you fix the app and get a proper support request access port that lets you make a request for help, you get one star.., fix it and I will update my review!
geekhunter,
Turns you into a pro photographer
Seriously, Fusion has enabled me to take photos that literally would have been impossible using a standard camera app, even those that include a basic HDR capability. I’ve tried a LOT of camera apps, but the ability to extensively post-process your photos with Fusion generates truly remarkable results.
shoulder@ctions,
Photo manipulation
I only recently began taking my photography hobby seriously. I like using my phone to photograph almost as much as my main camera. My only beef with fusion is that I'd like to be able to do the same thing on my pc with my canon. Other than that you have a very powerful photographers tool in the palm of your hand:) thanks
Greg k,
This used to be a great program but now when I take a photo it crashes
I can’t take a photo it crashes. If I press the email support button an error message pops up. Their site doesn’t list this product anymore. I think I can still load and edit fusion photos on my camera role.

I really liked this as it allowed me to take excellent photos and do a quick hdr treatment to get really realistic photos snd match the scene. But alas I can’t use it now.
