This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

This is the biggest update yet! This time we've added the two most-requested features: The ability to swap characters and a persistent 'storage chest' for items. Search maps for new ' temporal hubs' that allow your characters to store their items between maps and playthroughs (later, once they are released, other modules). The temporal hubs also allow you to swap your current character for another (costing some experience).

We have also made revisions and edits to a wide variety of in-game items and components and have been working to clean up the game script. Please enjoy!

syntheticvoid,
Galactic Keep
Galactic Keep is definitely one of those games that might not really be all that appealing at first, but the more you play it, the more it'll grow on you and open up. There is no real hand-holding. There is a tutorial, but after that, it's almost an open world RPG in a tabletop setting. Where you go is completely up to you. You will die. A lot. But you have 6 or 7 characters to work with, and each time you visit your old character's dead body, all of the gear you collected can be taken and the character can then be selected again, with all their permanant stat buffs and experience in tact (that is, unless you choose to play on Hardcore mode, which offers perma-death, though I wouldn't recommend it until you've got a handle on the gameplay). Right now, there's only one part of the game, but it's about 10-12 hours worth of gameplay and the developers are working on part 2 which, from their social posts, sounds and looks FRIGGIN INCREDIBLE!! Gilded Skull Games has definitely earned itself a lot of fans because of this game... and even without the 2nd campaign, wound up being one of my favorite games of 2015. Well worth the price. Fans of turn-based RPGs, roguelikes, open world RPGs and old-school board-based Dungeon Crawlers/RPGs should jump on this ASAP.
Mr fixeruper,
Fantastic
I am really enjoying this game. Some reviews say that it's to hard , of course your going to get killed some but that's what makes the rpg elements so rich when you level your characters up makeing them stronger to get through the game. The story is good and interesting makeing the exploreing more fun filled whith curiousity. All though this game may not be for everyone but as for me I am loveing it and don't want it to end and anxious for more to come. True rpg fans should enjoy this.
Ogtacular,
Style over substance
I wanted so much to love this game, and there is a lot to love in it. The writing is fairly good, backed up by very creative theming. The eerie music suits the setting admirably, and the old 1970's board RPG aesthetic is borderline genius.

Unfortunately it fails almost completely as a game. The character "classes" and races are very poorly differentiated, for starters: essentially it boils down to some equipment limitations and a choice of special attack.

Probably the largest problem is the manner in which combat is resolved...which is just about the entire game. Each attack is predicated on a roll of dice, but the outcome of each such action varies wildly...a single critical hit or failure can decide an encounter. In addition to this, there are a few large factors that operate against the player, not least of which is the encounter design. Oftentimes during the enemy turn you will suddenly see as many as five (!) monsters, all of them bee lining to attack you in a single turn. Since you have virtually no method of retreat (save a few rare items that don't always work), you can be forced to fight them all in a single turn, which virtually guarantees you'll hit a string of bad luck that ends your character.

I'd like to see the designer of this game take the story and presentation elements and work them into a much better game. At this point I don't see how salvaging this game is very likely though.
Mugglemage,
This is a fantastic game
Don't listen to the people saying it's unfair, they have likely never played actual D&D... Sometimes you go the wrong way and you get killed, there is very little cost for a death in this game. I loved this game and am playing through it for the third time because none of the other games I have have been able to hold my interest like this one.

I like the lore, I like the story, I like the detail on every battle... More please.
mufungo,
More please!
This game is great. I really wish I could find my old “Gamma World” (TSR, Old Skool) box set now.

I've been playing it and so has my 18 yo, please complete the next module… we love this game.

Combat works just great from my point of view, I always felt that critical hits/misses were overlooked tabletop elements (until clawlaw/spelllaw); and this game does nail the joy/infuriation of each too.
DZ6542246677844,
Great game - but too short to be worth it!
The game takes a little while to get used to it but once you do it's a great one - reminds me of playing pen-and-paper games 'back in the day'. The issue is that the dev's have claimed to have additional modules 'coming soon' for a very, very long time... I think I finished the one-and-only module a year ago. The game is fun - but overpriced in terms of hours of gaming enjoyment if they never deliver on the "more modules are coming" promise. I have to agree w/ another reviewer - if you’re reading these reviews, wondering if you should purchase... the answer is NO!! It’s not worth it unless they extend the game.

6+ (iOS 9.x)
Wholly original and utterly spectacular! So glad to see such a strong effort from an independent developer. This title has a place in my personal pantheon of great iOS gaming experiences. Edit: You will receive far better support for this title than others from large gaming corporations, as the developers are very active in online forums.
Datalis1930,
A great sci-fi fantasy awaits!
You can almost feel the pen and paper, laminated card holders, and plastic chips. With such a great job done on the writing and artwork, it's no wonder I can almost picture the events unfolding in my imagination. Well done, I look forward to seeing the adventure play out.
Ninja Trooper,
Great style... Not much else.
What a fantastic intro and interesting story that sadly devolves into much less interesting gameplay and combat.

I'd like to recommend this for the visual treatment alone, but even the dice roll gets annoying after a few hours. Combat options are binary to the point of exhaustion after your first few enemies. Every battle turns into who can whittle a health bar down faster. There is a blocking mechanic, but this only slows the battle.

Once you get past the interesting art and sound design, you just want a decent board game.
Wormwoode,
Incredible.
By far the most entertaining and authentic tabletop-style rpg for mobile. Excellent and unobtrusive mechanics. Extraordinary theme, story and atmosphere. Plays like some lost version of GammaWorld that no one was cool enough to actually put together.

Replay ability high- and I’d pay top dollar for more modules. Absolutely love it.
