Honestly this game can be a lot of fun if you focus on the right things. Never compare your base to the next. We all work/play at out own pace.
Some helpful tips....
Shield Maintenance is the biggest issue I see with new and old members. CHECK your Shield!!!!
Do endless events..... Helps keep you afloat
Save hero energy. It is the most valued thing in the game. Everything is based upon monsters.
Try joining a Hunting alliance. This will help you grow without spending. Gives speed ups for training troops, building and research. Also Gold.
Save gold you will need it later.
Starting out work on hero/trap/economy research. This will help you in the long run. Don’t waste your scripts. Save them as you grow and spend on the research needed.
Figure out what kind of account you want. Trap, filler or lead. Leads cost a lot and so can bigger traps. So many ways to play. Just find one that suits you and have fun. Its a GAME!! Please have fun.
Playing small accounts under SH15 can be fun too. They make great hospital traps. Again have fun and build your account the way you want.

Poor game glitches cost you real money
Game of kings has the poorest customer service out there. For a game that pushes its players to spend money. It does a terrible job at ensuring the functionality of your account. Peace shields don’t activate when used, reinforcements sent home while being attacked. Accounts being trapped in kingdoms they didn’t originate from. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Money spenders aren’t protected in anyway. After the game glitches GOK will give you 10k-20k gold for your troubles. But, never assist in actually fixing their mistakes. This game is not improving its functionality, just the way it gets people to spend money. The game packs aren’t worth it. The game is fixed to hurt spenders during KE and kvk. Many have written reviews just to have them removed. Madman games does not respond through its customer service. It has not been escalated. I have been writing The for 3 weeks about my account being trapped and my troops killed. Many players have been writing just to get no response. I hope this review shows the devs that we do have a voice and we will use it. Next one goes to the CEO!

My account was hacked
I downloaded this game a few days ago. I spent some money with the packages got up all my buildings did all the work I log out a couple of days later I go back in to play in my avatars, changed to a black warrior and I’m a white guy that’s playing the game so I knew something happened. The Warriors name was the one I put, but my email address was changed. The password was changed I try to set a pin and then the next day the pin was changed you can’t speak to anybody to change it back to your original email address and they’re telling me that it wasn’t logged in from any other device that the one I’m on, so how did all this happen I WOULD NOT DOWNLOAD THIS IF IT’S THAT EASY TO HACK AN ACCOUNT and you get no help it’s not worth it

I’m the only one that has my phone number one number two I am not black in it. Just don’t do it. It starts out as a fun strategy game. You’re building up your base under the illusion you can compete and win on tactics. You join or start an alliance, get to know people and are having a great time. It’s consuming your days now, so much fun you can’t set it down. Every chance you get, you’re checking your timers..hmm I think I’ll buy this $1.99 pack and finish the base so I can whoop some A! Then you realize everyone else is waaaaaaay past that $2 pack and buying packs at $100 a pop. Most “good” players easily have $1,000+ into it. Some players have even spent in the 10’s of thousands. NOT KIDDING. I easily had 2 grand in this game by the time I quit. Now, at $2,000 I was good. And was also good at the strategy of the game where I could compete with the guys that had 5+grand in it...but who’s really winning here. We’re talking about silliness in the amount of money you’ll blow. BTW-same review goes for Mobile Strike and Game of War. This game is where MS and GoW players came when those got too expensive. Then it turned into the same thing. Steer clear.

Must pay big to play. This is not play for free game like advertised. Make no mistake about it. You will spend a small fortune of you want to play this game to its potential. I brought my alliance from GOW 4 years ago. We played GOW for 5 years before they got stupid with all the updates. Now GOK is about the same age and stages of bull crap they dish out to their loyal customers. Now they cancelled all kill events for the remainder of the year and push packs to buy for the latest garbage you’ll need to play. Latest IOS update locked players out of their accounts causing them get zeroed. Developers won’t even respond to requests for compensation for losses caused by the developers updates. This game is GOW all over again too. Total crap stay away! We’re all jumping ship to the next adventure. THIS GAME IS A COMPLETE JOKE and doesn’t even resemble the preview shown in the AP store. Nice try lightning studios but no cigar.

Lowest Quality Mobile Strategy Game
Considering this game was released around 2017 I’m dumbfounded at how obsolete the game looks and plays. The animations are sloppy and the art lacks definition. There’s only 3 soundtracks in the whole game (the loading screen, the map, and your home base) and to top it off the game is very unfriendly to beginners. If you don’t level up quickly you’ll be attacked repeatedly. I wasn’t personally a target but many new players around me were and they left a smoldering pile of rubble where their stronghold used to be. Rather than waste your time with this mess I personally recommend playing Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade. There’s an actual sense of community in that game, people rarely attack you for no reason, and community events with actual community participation happen. You can earn gems (Rise of Kingdom’s in-game currency) daily through quests and all around that game is superior to this one in both gameplay and players.

Seems to be following in the steps of MZ, more money seeking instead of fixing glitch and bog down issues..... Lots of tactics to get you to spend more $$$. Packs lack enough speeds and resources, and mats, esp resources and mats. When I click chests level 1-6, I get more level 1s to ensure I spend more money 💲💲 to have to buy more to compete. These tactics cost mz a lot of players and resulted in the gamers moving on to other games..... Other tactics are the items you need to research battle tactics, research manuals, fretters not easily obtained from gathering, events, etc.... Just another MZ tactic to get us to buy, buy, buy. If you want steady profits from this game, fix the issues the game is having, provide better customer service and offer better packs .....stop ALL the unobtainable items needed to build, research and grow. Ihe items in packs are just pixels, not actual merchandise and no loss to you.

Not that bad
I’ve been playing gok for over 3 years, I played other games. GOK by far is better sure it has its issue but they are getting better, the glitch issue not that bad, their coming up with new events all be it not very good ones but their trying. As far as customer service their usually pretty good at getting back to you if not that day the very next day , the game is improving. I do have a little issue with catering to the big spenders it leaves the rest of us out in the cold. I love the game play compared to all the others, heck some games you can’t get a port unless you spend. Other games limit what you can do in your castles GOK don’t . Thanks for the ear .... scuba

This game use to be fun. It has turned into another Game of War! This is where the greed comes in. It is impossible to play anymore unless you are buying packs so if you wanna play have your money ready. Also it’s impossible to gather resources to grow because the big players are always hitting your resource tiles and killing your troops. ( they are afraid to go to war with other big players because they don’t want to lose their troops) we do events to win the kingdom event but the big players absolutely will not let you gather gold, if you do they hit your tiles and kill your troops. Now we don’t get the gifts for killing monsters SMH! This is a way to force people to buy packs. The game is coming to its end just like GOW! Good luck if you want to play unless you’ve got a lot of money you won’t get far! Good Luck big players when you have only dead cities to hit cause so many are quitting!

Incredibly Poor Customer Service, Blatant Disregard for Customers
I started playing this game as it is similar - pretty much identical - to Game of War. I appreciate the social aspect, and also the strategy. As opposed to GoW this game was supposed to not ‘gouge’ the player every 2 seconds with new packs and costs, making it impossible to play without spending big $. This is true, somewhat. However, this game is riddled with bugs and issues and the customer service is a joke. When they screw up big time - and the entire kingdom loses out due to all players on apple devices being blocked for a duration?! - they throw a small ‘bone’ out to everyone to ‘compensate’. But if you suffer individual loses due to their poor programing expect ALL of your inquiries to be ignored. My advice is do not waste your money unless you have a ton to spend and do not mind getting screwed over. pucck K3
