Gas Giants lets you peer through a simulated telescope to observe Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune and their major moons, as they appear right now, or at any date and time.

Amateur astronomers, teachers, scout leaders, astronomy club members or anyone who uses a telescope or binoculars to view the night sky will love Gas Giants.

Gas Giants requires an iPhone 3GS or later, or an iPod Touch 3rd Generation or later (specifically, OpenGL ES 2.0 or later) to run. All iPad models are supported.

ShaiDorsai,
Good, but please update for the notch!
App is simple and does what it's supposed to, so that's always appreciated!

However, the iPhone X and similar models have been out for nearly two years, and the Saturn and Uranus tabs are covered by the screen notch. Please update to mitigate this!

Nails it
Can you see Jupiter's red spot? Which moon is Titan? I used to look this info up but this app makes it all faster and does it so well that it has earned it's place on my in my Astronomy collection. My only minor nit is that if you want to get the positions for more than a day in the future it's a pain - you have to change the app settings. Why not just put this functionality in the rolling time control with a go to now button?
DarwinTe,
Wonderful program!!!!!
With this program, I can easily and quickly determine when the Jovian moons and their shadows will pass in front of Jupiter. This is a great help for me. Also, when looking at Saturn, I can identify it's moons as well. I have never been able to do that.

You can set the time and date to view any 24 hour period
2ollux,
Gives you knowledge of what you are looking at
You no longer have to guess if that tiny white spot is a moon of Jupiter. This app made it all easy and comes with an EXTENSIVE amount of simulated telescopes to see what your view of the planet will be. Before buying a new telescope or lens, you can see how the gas giants will look like through your new accessory.
lilwinnter,
Still awesome to this day!
i love this app. imo the best part about it is if you are able to see the gas giants moons through your telescope, you are able to identify which moons you are looking at. one thing that would be awesome is if you made an app like this that showed mercury, venus, an especially earth and mars because they have moons.
Ben Cacace,
iOS 14: Jovian Moons Don’t Fit
This is a simple and well executed app but the Jupiter view doesn’t display the full width of the orbits for Ganymede and Callisto. I can only view in portrait mode and can’t pinch enough to view the wider orbits.

Also, the iPhone 11’s tab at the top covers the menu to choose Saturn or Uranus.

Will upgrade to 5 stars if the full view of Jupiter’s satellites can be seen, if the app can go into landscape mode and if the menu choices for Saturn and Uranus aren’t covered by the tab at the top of the iPhone 11 screen.
lovebattlecats,
Update the app
Please update. I can’t zoom in as much and I also can’t go side to side and zoom in on the moons as well. Please fix that. still Pretty good though!
Moxie-Michigan,
Exactly the necessary information
And nothing extra. Wonderful little app. Hoping they will make one for the solid planets.
OMG_REVIEW,
App still not updated to support newer devices
I can’t even figure out how to use this app because half the menu bar at the top is covered by the notch on newer iPhones.

The iPhone notch has been around for 5 years. Either update your app or remove it from the App Store.
Cjameswalk,
Perfect
This is exactly what I was looking for. Now I can find out where the moons are, at the current time. Thank you.👍
