We’ve added quite a wide variety of functions in this new update.
In the drop down Layer menu you will now find:
“White to transparent” which allows you to remove the white from the image on a layer, it even works on images that you import into the app.
“Flatten visible layers” is also now an option.
Colour palette (the ink cap icon) contains a larger colour history, so you can now select from your last 14 colours used. And there you will also find a new colour picker (eye dropper) tool!
In preferences you can now turn on a debug menu in your toolbar, that contains a variety of troubleshooting functions (and occasionally you might even find a new tool that’s in the beta testing phase)
This time around we have increased the maximum zoom… like a lot!
If you’ve ever been stuck wondering why you aren’t able to restore your subscription, it usually means you aren’t connected to the internet. So now a message will pop up in the subscription page to let you know that. Hopefully this will save some people from unnecessary confusion and frustration.
And the big one… if you do a lot of work in colour, you’ll be stoked to find that an extensive selection of Blend Modes have been added in Layers!!

In this update the transform tool in layers got some love,
- We added the ability to snap to intervals in transform when moving in any direction and when rotating.
- Transform now has the option to turn off directional movement (for rotating layers in place)
- Undo and redo buttons now apply to actions performed in transform.
- The drawing tool sizes have been streamlined to only whole numbers - no more .5’s
- The dotwork tool just got a little more fun with a “randomize dot size” option that adds some variety to the look of your dot gradients.
- We also fixed the long press shortcut for color selecting to make it more intuitive.

This one is mostly a maintenance update, so let’s all take a moment of silence for the many bugs that were squashed.
We also added a long press shortcut to the undo/redo buttons on the toolbar. Now, pressing and holding on them will rapidly go back or forward in the recent steps of your drawing. The undo/redo buttons on the side has had this for a long time, so we thought we would add it up top as well.
And while we were at it, we also increased the speed of the rapid undo/redo, because who doesn’t need a few extra microseconds around the holidays?

This exciting update is like an expansion pack for the Wallpaper Effect! We have blown the doors off the limits of one of Geometrica’s most popular tools. If you’re not familiar with it, the wallpaper effect is used to make full page repetitive patterns using 17 different symmetry groups. Each group has its own grid guidelines to draw on, previously group 1 was limited to a square grid. Now the group 1 symmetry is usable in square, half square, rhombic isometric, hexagonal and rectangular. We have added as many grid variations as the math would allow, bringing the total grid variations in Wallpaper Effect from 17 to over 60! Enjoy and happy pattern making!
We’ve also added a hexagon grid to the View menu and the Snap menu (you can now snap your lines to the new hexagon grid).
And in our printing system, we have also added a hexagon grid to the available grid printing options.

This one is mostly a maintenance update.
• Added a test page to the printing system to help gauge accuracy. Feel free to measure your printout with a ruler and send us the results to help us with future improvements.
• Printing to the Camera Roll and PDF are saved at 300 dpi. However the drawing will be resized and may be stretched to fit.
• Removed "Parent Folder" from the Gallery. If a "Parent Folder" remains, it will contain drawings.
• Added Share to the gallery menu.
• Fixed the Zoom issue where strokes were not appearing under the pencil when zoom was turned on in iPad settings (the issue that was previously fixed by “reset all settings”).

In this update we have added folders to the gallery. We know most of our subscribers are working tattoo artists, and keeping things organized makes work life easier and more efficient. Now you can:
• Create and name folders by using icons at the top of the gallery, or by long pressing on any document in the gallery.
• Drag and drop documents into folders or long press on a document and click “move” to choose a destination from all your current folders.
• Keep folders within folders.
The other improvement in this update may fly under the radar, but we’ve added yet another layer of security to prevent losing your documents. Now, when a document is deleted it automatically gets added to a “recently deleted” folder in the Files app where you can recover it for up to 30 days.

We should call this the "subscriber appreciation update", as everything in this one came at the request of members in our awesome Geometrica community. Thanks as always for the feedback and suggestions and we hope these changes make your work flow even easier.
- We have introduced the “Convert to Lines” feature into the layer menu. This awesome timesaver that will take any image and convert it into just the outlines for you has been a part of our printing system for a while now. When enough people expressed interest in having it in the main part of the app, we had to make it happen. You can now convert the contents of any layer into outlines and fine tune those lines with a variety of adjustment sliders to get it just how you want it.
- In our printing system you now have the option to “print” to PDF or save your custom sized (multiple page) images in your camera roll. This will now make it compatible with PocketJet travel printers or other ways you may be printing when the standard AirPrint isn’t an option.
- We added a more obvious cancel button at the end of the printing sequence after learning that people have missed the existing “swipe down” motion for that action.
- You can now change the value of the cube pattern background of the drawing screen. If you find the pattern distracting you can go to preferences and choose between the light, medium and dark version of it.

This update brings iPad’s new Scribble function to Geometrica. Scribble can recognize handwriting and convert it into text. How rough of handwriting will it recognize? (Asking for a friend). The answer is… really rough. It’s pretty impressive. So you may prefer it when adjusting your numbers in the text boxes over the sliders, or when naming your files and layers. And if you’re not digging this feature, you can always just turn it off altogether in preferences.
A lot of other work went into this update but it’s all “under the hood” kinda stuff; bug fixes and improvements, including not being able to create custom sized documents.

In this update we have made some really fun additions to the marker tool. First we added a taper option to the start or end of your lines (or both). Use the sliders to control the length of each taper individually.
The other big news is a brand new “rope stabilizer” system to the marker tool! It’s a visible cursor that sits just ahead of your line and using it as a visual guide helps you pull extremely smooth curves. You can also control the length of the “rope”, or how far ahead of your line it sits, with a slider.
The rope stabilizer function has also been added as an option on the eraser.
With all these new tricks, our marker tool was looking a bit crowded and you know how we like our user interface *so fresh and so clean* so we tidied it up. Most sliders will now disappear when set to zero and can be toggled on to reappear.
Also we increased the maximum size of the airbrush tool by 50% and fixed a bug with the dotwork tool.

We have updated the fill tool! Tolerance is different now, it’s the colour matching tolerance instead of opacity tolerance. If you have it at 100 then everything matches, and if have it at 0 only exact colours match. We’ve also added opacity, so when you fill it can blend with the underlying colours.

This build is our most exciting feature release ever! You can now draw in "polar coordinates" and in adjustable spirals that decrease in size towards the centre of the page and increase towards the outside of the page. So trippy!! Combine with our rotation effect to choose as many repetitions of these new tools as you want. As with a lot of the features in Geometrica we have once again created more groundbreaking drawing experiences that can't be found anywhere else. These new features deliver drawing capabilities that most geometric tattooers have only dreamed of (including us). The new polar tool can be found in our repeat effect feature, where you can choose from Horizontal, Vertical, and now Polar. Once you choose Polar, new sliders will appear to let you adjust the number of repetitions, and the curve which when turned on creates the spiral effects. There is also a toggle which allows you to choose whether the size of your line will remain consistent, or become smaller towards the centre of the polar grid. So many new options to play with - We can't wait to see what our talented Geometrica community will create with these!
Check out our Instagram @geometricatattooapp to see examples of these new features and more.
Also in this build we have increased the maximum number of layers from 25 to 50, because... why not - more is always better right?
Various bug fixes and improvements.

We have upgraded the eraser tool so it now has a visible cursor on the screen so you can see the edge of where you’re erasing.
We have also more than doubled the maximum size of the eraser area.
There are new saving options in the share button. You can now export .geometrica files which you can send to other Geometrica users and your project will have all your various layers intact and accessible.
Even more features for the printing section!
You can now mirror your design before printing for thermal printers that require a reverse image in order to produce a standard image on the stencil paper.
We’ve added the option to choose landscape or portrait orientation for your printout.
Also, various bug fixes and improvements.

We have expanded even further on our revolutionary printing system that was introduced in the last update!
More tools have been added to enhance your designs before you print them to ensure that you are getting the best and most accurate stencils possible.
SIZING:
In the last update we made it possible to print your designs at any size, even when the final product is large enough to span across any number of pages. We have now added the ability to resize and align images on a single page for more flexibility.
CONVERT IMAGES:
There has been a major expansion of the "Convert To" section. Previously you could convert any image to just outlines with a single click, and now you can also convert images to halftone dots or crosshatching for stencils that have shading in them (perfect for realism and photos). You can change colour images into black and white. Multiple adjustment sliders have been added to everything in "Convert To" so you have even more options to fine tune designs to your liking before sending them off the the stencil machine.
GRIDS:
We wanted to share some next level, insider stencil techniques with you, so we have added built in grids for printing - Square, Isometric and Polar (circular) grids in 3 different sizes. Stencilling a grid onto the body before you freehand helps keep your drawing straight and accurate.
There is also a new option in the update to add a subtle grid overtop of your designs as a visual aid to help you ensure that the design is level on the body, this is particularly helpful when stencilling something symmetrical across both sides of the body ie a chest or back piece.
(This update also includes bug fixes.)

The new feature we’ve added in this update is a game changer for all tattooers! You enter the exact size you want your design to be, and our new printing system will do all the work of dividing it up into as many sheets of paper as it needs to be. No more sizing things up on a photocopier, every design comes out ready to go straight into the stencil machine, whether it’s a backpiece or a full bodysuit. It’s a tool the tattoo industry has always needed.
Customize how your multi page designs meet up to make it easy to tape large stencils together. You can add optional guidelines to your printed pages to help when matching them up, and the option to overlap them or not.
The new printing menu also makes it possible to convert solid images into outlines, for more manageable stencils.
Entering the height and width dimensions of your printout separately gives you the ability to stretch your design out if you want to.

We’ve added a new drop down menu called “Snap” which allows the rotation tool, rulers and straight line tool to snap to either degrees or half degrees on the screen or to our square and isometric grids. This is a lot more exciting than it sounds, in fact it adds yet another brand new drawing experience to Geometrica. Wanna know how? Pro tip: turn on snap to isometric grid, and use your straight line tool with continuous line turned on. Then simply place the Apple Pencil on any of the intersecting points or centers of the grid to start isometric drawing! That’s how you create those cool 3-D cube looking shapes and patterns. Enjoy! Try it with the square grid, and also use this feature to help you precisely place the rotation tool back in the center of your mandala (if you’ve moved it).
In this build We’ve also added the ability to move the center of the rotation tool (for making mandalas). Previously the center was always stationary in the middle of the canvas, but now you are able to place it anywhere. This new feature was chosen out of 4 options by our Geometrica community via a poll on Instagram. We love hearing the ideas of our fellow tattooers and incorporating them into the app whenever we can. Follow our IG @geometricatattooapp to get in on the conversation.
We also fixed an error with the gradient thickness, bringing your maximum increase from 5x the original line size, up to 20x!!
And as always we did some minor bug fixes and performance improvements.
