1. LETTERS. Giraffe will ask you to find the letters in the jungle grass. Can you find them? Offers two levels of difficulty to cover a wide age-range of little learners.
2. NUMBERS. A fun way to learn your numbers! Choose numbers that go up to 10 or 20. Junior Explorers can have the clue shown (helps learn the numbers, and promotes memorization), while Ace Adventurers will have the clue spoken-only for an advanced challenge.
3. ALPHABET SONG. Tap to advance the notes and sing the alphabet song along with Giraffe! For an added challenge, turn on the bongos and play along with the beat!
4. BIG SAFARI. Can you find the animal and place it in the net? Use your finger to drag or flick the animals. Can you beat your high score?
5. ANIMALS. Your kids will have a blast finding the animals and hearing the funny sounds!
6. PHOTO PLAYGROUND. Choose your background and arrange wildlife, comical hats, food, shrubs, and more! Have the perfect composition? Email a photo to a loved one!

To celebrate the launch of "Giraffe's PreSchool Playground HD" (all new for the iPad!) we are pleased to announce the following updates to Giraffe's PreSchool Playground:
- Happy Halloween! Added halloween themed images to the Photo Playground!
- Added LOWER CASE letters to the letter hunt mode - after getting 4 correct answers in a row on upper case letters, lower case letters will be presented
- Song Mode now changes background scenery each time through the song and also switches to lower case letters every other time through the song
- Fixed a scoring bug in Big Safari mode

- Complete code re-write was done in order to re-structure the underlying framework to allow the major content additions we have planned for future updates.

In response to user feedback, the "Animals" game mode has been enhanced to include two different levels of play -- younger children who don't yet know the animal names now have the option to see a picture of the animal they are searching for. The advanced mode will still speak the animal name without the visual clue. Thank you for your feedback!

We love this app
We've had this app since our 12yo was about 2 and he loved it back then. We now have a going on 2yo and have reunited with this app for him after finally figuring out the name. So glad I came across a video that showed the name. The little one loves it already! Thanks!

Broken?
Just bought this for my kid since it was on sale. Unfortunately the game's spoken clues aren't working. So in advanced mode you have no idea what you're supposed to do. I reset my device after installing just in case and that did nothing.
Could be a fun game for kids if it worked. Will revise my review if it gets fixed.
-- Update: Fired up the game a few hours later and now the voice is working. Not really sure what changed between then and now, but at least it's working for me. Decent app for people with young children. Won't give 5 stars, since there's no guarantee it won't stop working for me again.

Amazingly Fun For Them, Not Annoying To You
It's rare that a game like this isn't just churned out trash that's designed to do the minimum necessary to make parents feel good that their kids are learning. After all, the kids don't care, right?
Well this team obviously took time to record original music, sound effects and voice overs that are hysterical to listen to and not at all grating. As for the kids, these graphics are beautiful, simple and completely engaging.
Gameplay ramps nicely. There are two difficulties for each game, so your child can grow within each game. And then the games themselves ramp developmentally from basic matching to rudimentary touch-screen mechanics and scoring.
I'm pleasantly surprised by this title. Completely satisfied.

My kids love it.
I got the free version of the hippo fun game and bought this from the ad-ons and my girls love this game very much as well as the song.
However I would like to see added things such as letter fill in for spelling simple math problems a spelling list in order or a test on their knowledge of the order of the letters are supposed to be in. This is just a short list and I've noticed other paid programs that offer such things but only that specific item such as addition or simple spelling or the alphabet. I'd like to see an all in one program that's fun for the kids and affordable. Most expensive programs let people down without some kind of samples.

From a teacher
Having a degree in educational technology and having worked with Pre-K children for 5 years, I always approach pre-school software with a critical eye. That being said, this is a simple and intuitive program that will serve 3 functions. It will entertain children; it will engage the recall and relationship aspects of young minds (very important); it will provide an opportunity to interact with the child.
From an educator's point of view, I recommend that you play this game with children rather than just handing them the device to keep them quite. For example, let the child "teach" you how to play".

Wonderful for special needs!
Thank you for creating such a wonderful application. We are using it to work with our non-verbal son who has autism. I love that the "clue" is shown first, and that you have a "REPEAT THE CLUE" button as well. The activities are great, the artwork cute and colorful. If I could ask for anything more - my only wish is that if somehow you could choose to select the item from a smaller sampling than a choice of 6. Example: Like a choice from 2,4, or 6 - depending on a child's skill level but overall this app. is amazing! Well done.

My son (4 yrs) plays this all the time when he is a little over tired and needs to stay busy (out to dinner etc.). He loves it just for fun to learn letters and numbers of course.
Upgrades: Would be great to offer additional features or mini games to purchase within the game like maybe additional "themes" to create his own scenes or a section about preschool adding. As he gets older maybe offer upgrades to keep him playing an learning. Great app!
