Gitimtim is a powerful tool that offers complete list of rhyme matches (in words and proverbs) for searched single letters or words in Amharic.
The app also offers 11 subject matter and 9 emotional scale categories to search nearly all known Amharic proverbs for meaning (details below).
We no longer need to search rhymes and proverbs from memory that offers only a fraction of what’s out there. Gitimtim utilizes an algorithm that recognizes sound patterns in over 50,000 Amharic words and 5,000 proverbs in 20 sort categories.
Now that there's abundance in rhymes, focus can shift to creating stories and developing meaning, enabling an easier outlet for the poet inside.
Proverbs - Already in 1-liner verses, are rich in meaning and readily available to be utilized in our poems today.
Gitimtim offers the following five search tools for rhymes in words or proverbs.
1. "All Words" button - For rhyme matches in words (Free to all users) -
User enters single letter or word in the search field and clicks on "All Words" button to search in database of all 50,000+ words.
Single letter search in "All Words" - User enters a single letter in the search field to list words ending in the letter searched.
Word search - User enters a word in the search field, then clicks on “All Words” for the algorithm to generate a list of the very best in rhyme matches, which recognizes not only the ending letter but also sound pattern of letter before it.
2. “2-letter” - “5-letter” buttons -
Gitimtim offers rhyme search and match for words by specific number of letters, for greater control in constructing verses sound and sense. For example, a 3 letter word rhymes best with another 3 letter word.
User enters single letter or word in the search field, then clicks on the button specifying number of letters for rhyme matches in words.
3. "Proverbs" button - For rhyme matches in proverbs -
User enters single letter or word in the search field and clicks on the proverbs button. This leads to list of all proverbs that end with letter searched.
4. “Proverbs Categories” offers the following 11 subject matter and 9 emotional scale categories.

Emotional scale categories,

6. Hope - Doubt

8. Generosity – Jealousy
9. Gratitude - Regret
When seeking proverbs about joy for example, the contrast in those about sadness may be helpful.
User enters single letter or word in the search field and clicks on proverb categories, then marks category box or boxes of choice, before hitting "search".
This results in list of all proverbs that end with letter searched, that are also categorized under boxes marked.
When selecting multiple categories, results narrow, further fine-tuning proverbs for targeted theme and meaning.
5. “Keyword search" box – Lists all proverbs that contain the word searched.
User enters a word in the search field and clicks on “Proverb Categories" first, then marks the "keyword search" category box (uncheck all others) before hitting “search". This results in list unrestricted by ending letters.

When to write (mix in) poems in short 4-8 line verses -
- Sharing joy in weddings, birthdays, graduations, etc,
- Writing in groups (family, friends, coworkers).
- Lyrics - singing, rapping or worshiping,
- Express love, support, gratitude, apology, etc.
- Letters, social media posts, etc.
- Speeches, school papers, business.
