GlennKessler for iOS 4.0 may have just come out, but we're back with another packed release. Here's what's new in GlennKessler for iOS 4.1:
∙ Enhancements to the article reading interface. We took the time to do a full rewrite of all the code related to the reading experience, and as a result, everything is now better and faster. Some changes: links are finally tappable — and you don't lose your spot if you tap on one, the author byline appears at the top of every article, embedded videos play more consistently, dynamic text size is supported, and articles are downloaded and cached before you even tap on them, so you can read offline.
∙ Redesigned Interviews to match the new Articles design from 4.0.
∙ Improved layout of the Today widget
∙ Updates to Videos design
∙ More discreet reloading interface
∙ iCloud sync is more reliable
∙ Various additional bug fixes and enhancements
4.0

Welcome to version 4.0 of GlennKessler for iOS! It’s the biggest, most wide-ranging update to GlennKessler for iOS ever, so there’s a lot to unpack. Let’s get started:
∙ GlennKessler for watchOS. A simple and easy way to stay up to date with the latest fact checks, right on your wrist. The app displays the five latest articles and gives you a summary of each, along with the Pinocchio rating. And if you tap the “Save for Later” button, it’ll automatically be saved to your phone to read later. Speaking of which...
∙ Saved Articles. You can now save any article in the app to read later. To save, either left swipe on an article or tap the share button and then hit save. All saved articles can be accessed by tapping the bookmark icon and your saved articles are synced automatically via iCloud, so your devices are always ready to read.
∙ Today Widget. A fast, simple way to see the newest articles at any time. It’s updated daily — tapping on an article opens it right in the app. To get started, add it to the space left of your home screen.
∙ Rich notifications. Preview an article before opening the app by firmly pressing on the notification. You can then save the article for later or share it, right from the notification.
∙ Updated article design on iPhone and iPad. It’s slicker, more modern, and easier to read.
∙ Background fetching and caching. Articles are now fetched and updated in the background, so the app is up to date before you open it.
∙ And much more! Home screen quick actions, improved search, updated icons, videos in articles, and better dynamic text support, to name a few features. And of course, bug fixes.

In case you missed it, here are all the great new things in GlennKessler for iOS 3.0:
Introducing GlennKessler for iOS 3.0, the biggest update to the app ever. GlennKessler for iOS 3.0 completely redesigns the app for iPad to take advantage of the large display. Additionally, GlennKessler for iOS 3.0 adds some extremely powerful, fun, and simple new features. Here's what's new:
∙ All-new Articles page for iPad. You can now visually browse each article, see the main picture from each article, and swipe between the Pinocchio filters so you can read just the articles you want to.
∙ Search (iPad only). In the main Articles page, you can now tap the search button in the top right corner to instantly search an ever growing archive of articles from the Fact Checker column. The search is smart, fast, and you can tap to read any article that shows up.
∙ The app now has a brand new reading interface on the iPhone and iPad. Instead of being bombarded with ads and other distractions, you are now presented with a simple, clean, and custom reading interface.
∙ The Pinocchio Game has been completely redesigned and is now available on the iPad. To get to the Pinocchio Game, tap on the Game tab at the bottom of the app. The Game now gives you new questions each time you play and even keeps track of your score. On the iPad, as you play games, your scores are saved to a wall and at any time, you can go back and review past games.
∙ The Videos tab has been redesigned on the iPhone and iPad, and brings the total number of videos to 25. On the iPad, if you tap on a video, the video card pops up in a new window and the video starts playing automatically. Additionally, whenever Glenn Kessler appears on TV, the video will be added to the app automatically, so always check the tab for new content.
∙ The Interviews tab on iPad has been redesigned to fit in with the new design of the Articles page. Additionally, on the iPhone and iPad, you can now start playing an interview, leave the app, and the interview will continue to play in the background.
∙ The About and Contact tabs have been combined into the all-new GlennKessler tab. From there, you can learn more about GlennKessler in a simple way (swipe to the left or right to move between sections) and you can always email him with a tap.
∙ Improved colors throughout the app.
These are just a few of the many changes to GlennKessler for iOS in version 3.0. We hope you enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed making it. We'd love to hear your feedback, so please feel free to leave a review in the App Store if you think the app is worthy of one.
