• Generic MPD device support is now available, making Glider the only app on any platform to support all streaming protocols including: UPnP/DLNA, OpenHome, MPD, AirPlay and Chromecast. Many MPD devices will be auto-discovered, but a new option has been added to add an MPD device using the IP address and port number.

• A new 'Analog' display mode allows you to focus on album-based listening with a distraction free experience. Play full albums, one at a time with no extraneous features.

• A new 'Consolidate Outputs' option has been added to let Glider automatically choose the optimal streaming protocol to use for devices supporting multiple protocols (UPnP and Chromecast for example). When disabled, you'll see a separate output entry in the output list for each protocol a device supports.

• Recently added albums are now displayed on the main Library screen, and the Albums view has a new 'Recently Added' sort option. Your history of recently added albums will be stored in iCloud and will be restored during a delete and re-install of the app.

• You can now easily add files to Glider using the iOS Files App, the 'Share' button in Safari, and AirDrop from your Mac.

• Last.fm integration has been added to automatically scrobble whatever's playing in Glider. If you're listening without an internet connection, then your scrobbles will be stored locally and synced to Last.fm when your connection returns.

• Smoother and more responsive volume control when streaming.

I just want my Karlstad,
Perfect for Poly
I’d never had to deal with DLNA until I purchased a Chord Poly + Mojo, which to my ears sounds significantly better when playing off the internal microSD card rather than streaming, like a veil has been lifted off the sound — but that requires DLNA. I wasn’t particularly excited about the apps on offer until Glider came along. I really appreciate Glider’s lovely Apple-esque aesthetics and design and the way it integrates lock-screen control on the iPhone. I started using the app early in the development process and was impressed by the developer’s commitment to improvements and the helpful and quick responses to tech support questions. There has been a learning curve for me in getting playlists to work and dealing with network issues at home and out in the world, but these are more to do with the finicky quirks of DLNA and Poly than with Glider. I’ve had best results when I’ve made sure to close any other sound-playing apps on the iPhone that are Airplay capable first and wait 20-30 seconds before opening Glider, presumably so it gets priority access to the Poly. I’m grateful to have this app and recommend it.
Darkflame808,
Missing basic functionality but it’s a very good player
The program is top quality but lacks the most basic features like repeat. It’s like buying a Porsche and finding out it’s missing turn signals. Sure you can just stick your hand out the window and give them or just change without letting others know but still it would be nice to be able to use this to listen to your favorite tune without having to hit rewind on every track you really enjoy. In my case I listen to relaxing sounds while I sleep. Now I gotta make a long playlist of the same track just to get it to do what other programs do with a single click. :(

Update: I received a email stating that the feature is coming in an update. Looking forward to seeing the change!
wg,
Well done!
I was up and running in no time connecting to Serviio on my Mac. Great looking, fluid app and works quickly when looking for songs and playing them. Also impressed with how the app displays cover art and updates it accordingly when I change it in my server.

If I could add a feature or two, it would be a favorites option (which I guess can be achieved using playlists), and maybe a home menu selection that displays random music to listen to on any given day.
Eucr75,
Excellent for casting Apple Music to TV
If your looking for a way to cast your apple music library to your tv, seek no further, this app is what you want. I spent hours researching how to play and cast my iPhones music through Chromecast to my tv. Sounds like a simple task right? Well with apple, nothing is easy. Then I found this app. This is exactly what i was looking for. It syncs your entire apple music library and then you can cast with no issues. Love this app, highly recommend!
J Treehorn,
Best app for album listeners!
Awesome visual selection app with large album art images to scroll through. Far better than the competitors I tried. Two other huge advantages over other HD music capable apps- the volume control has much more range than others and the developer has been incredibly responsive every time I posed a support question!
sngnguy,
Great app with immediate fixes!
I tried all the top apps for streaming FLAC files to my Chromecast audio from my media server. This is the best by far, rock solid. I did find a few errant actions, and when I let the developer know he sent me a new build the next day. This has happened twice so far. He listens and fixes! Can’t ask for better support.
fghjuytrevbg,
Question
Since there is no way to contact developer, this is a question, why iis only syncing 1.0k songs, please help on what to do to sync my whole collection about 1Tb.
If I can do that this app is the best 5 stars
wavepacket,
Great Idea
This is a clever music player allowing automatic access to the highest resolution source of your songs. If you’re connected to a network with uncompressed files, Glider will play those instead of compressed files on your device (or great for streaming to a Hifi system). Has a nice UI also that makes more sense than iTunes. Library management unfortunately needs work. Syncing not reliable and the Glider library gets wonky.
Bobqwertyuip,
Disappointed - volume control not sufficient
I like the app, but when casting to my Google Home Mini, I can’t control the volume completely. After I’ve turned it all the way up on my phone, I then have to go to my Mini and increase the volume manually the rest of the way. On the other hand, the Allcast app does allow me to fully adjust the volume on the Mini, so I guess I’ll be using that instead.
Xanobi,
Doesn't support family sharing like it claims
I was looking for a better music player for my wife and thought this had potential (although a little pricey). I paid for the app because it said it supports family sharing. Downloaded on my iPad fine but when I put it on her phone it was the limited version. False advertising to say it supports family sharing.
