TWCrew,
Almost perfect, highly recommend
I have tried to learn the 3x3 many times and always felt lost and frustrated. The Go Cube met all my needs. It’s easy to use, teaches a very simple solving method, allows endless patience and practice (unlike a human teacher), and allows multiple avenues for practicing your skills even before you know how to solve the puzzle. The app is very well designed. The online battle options and mini games will help you improve your skills. The only thing the app is missing is a way to learn intermediate skills (such as a more advanced tutorial, a OLL/PLL library with practice drills, or a reading library to read more about cube theory/advanced/alternative solving strategies, a mini game designed to encourage finger tricks/more efficient cube holding/turning habits). The cube itself is also very nice to use, and the internal lighting makes this a great cube for playing in low light/dark environments. Highly recommend.
Joshxrs,
Good app, amazing product
This cube has been amazing for me. It feels great to move around (very quality) and it’s so much faster than anything I’ve used before. I have the edge version which is super cool because in the app it tracks my moves literally perfectly! Due to this and the fun ways the app lets you improve I was able to bring my pr from 1 minute to 36 seconds! The only thing I don’t like in the app is the history portion of it but that’s just relative to the other parts of the app (it’s still good compared to what I’d expect from something like this). I personally knew how to solve the cube when I got this but I’ve set down several of my friends and family members with the learning part of this app and they all managed to learn the cube in roughly an hour. Overall, great product, would defiantly recommend buying it!

GoCube from a Speed Perspective
I received my GoCube around a month and a half ago and have done around 1,000 times solves so far, in those solves I’ve learned the strengths and weaknesses of the cube.

As far as how well it works with the app and how the software behaves, it’s fantastic! I could hardly believe that in 100,000+ turns that it’s never missed a single turn input. The cfop reconstruction on the app provides great information that I can use to work on my own solves and having it laid out so conveniently with tps is perfect!

I didn’t really bother with the program for learning how to solve the cube but I imagine it’s just as great as the rest of the app.

The only reason I rate it as a 4/5, is turning of the cube. The magnets are too strong, it turns just a little too fast, (and eats up heavy lube fast enough for the speed to be an actual negative), the pillowed-ness of the cube isn’t actually that hard to work with but the final con is the corner cutting. It just feels too snappy and doesn’t cut enough for it to be used for times that I could get on normal flagship cubes. It’s also worth noting that the cube pops once every 250 solve or so.

For a beginner or intermediate cuber, this is an absolute 5/5, cube functions well enough and the app is perfect for what a cuber needs. For more advanced cubers, you probably won’t be using a Bluetooth cube for serious solves anyways!
urpwnd,
Small additions will make this 5 stars
I like the app, and I like the academy format, but it only teaches one of the basic solve methods. I already know how to solve the cube and was really hoping for stuff to take me to the next level of solving.

Specifically I think this needs a mid and high level in the academy, as well as better stats and tracking of how long and how many moves it takes you to get to certain milestones of solving the cube. For example, let’s say my PLL and OLL(permutate and orient last layer stages) are my sticking point. Stats that could tell me that, on average, those are my slowest area would be awesome. I would love to see drills to work on those as well as new algorithms to learn to accomplish them faster.

I’m sure the games and stuff are fine, but learning faster and better algorithms helps you break through the ceiling of only knowing the basic solve, and that is where this app could really shine!
failureintheapp,
At last!
The Cubes have been around since I was a kid and I was never able to even come close to understanding how to solve it. I was inspired by the new tracking tech to check it out again and bought a dollar store cube to learn with using vids on the net. I got struggled to find consistent approaches to solves that way so became time-consuming and not great results. Once I got the GoCube I screamed through the academy and solve over and over again for hours, incrementally improving my scores. Hoping to see some intermediate and advanced techniques with future updates. Also looking forward to a social aspect like buddy list and ways to play friends as I don't see a way to do this in the current version of the app.
GuapoX,
Flawed but lots of potential
Hopefully all the issues I’ve experienced can be solved with software updates. I’ve never solved a cube before until I received my GoCube. The app and its tutorials are really great. Unfortunately, the shades of colors the app uses are not color blind friendly. I have a hard time seeing the difference between yellow and green in the app. Having a setting to change the shades of the colors or a color blind friendly view is needed. I’ve tried changing my display settings and it did not make a difference.

Unfortunately, my cube becomes uncalibrated rather quickly. Especially when solving the middle layers. My display also turns off while I am going through the tutorials. Having a setting to keep the display on while the app is running is needed.

Battery life is great so far. Despite all the issues I’ve ran into I’m really happy with my purchase.
funnybumbum,
Great cube but a big problem. (Developer’s please respond)
My Review First off. I love the cube. It’s smooth and the magnets are nice and strong. The cube is very high quality (i have the edge version). The app is great and very polished. And the tutorial is very intuitive. The cube is much easier than I thought. It just takes a few steps and your already solving your cube. In general great no complaints. My Problem I have an iPad Air 4th Generation and iPad OS 16. My problem is whenever i go to do a scrambling match or a pro cube challenge or the special challenge. The hole app completely freezes. And i have to reboot my tablet. I’m not sure if it’s a software conflict or something. PLEASE FIX. I love using my Gocube and this is my only problem. If this is fixed than I will give five stars. Thank’s For Reading. Have a Nice Day.
Mrc1125,
It’s amazing! But I have a couple things
I absolutely love this cube and app! I just got it yesterday for my birthday and it’s so much better than my normal 3x3’s.
One problem I have had with it so far is having to “load solves cube” pretty much every time I open the app after using the cube offline and you have to get used to the part where you have the white center up and green facing you so the cube on the screen isn’t a different rotation from what you have in your hand.
I would love to see an option to go up against someone solving it with one hand as I have just gotten into doing that. I’m a minute and a half slower with one hand so it messes with my stats if I use the timer. Because of that, I would love to see this possibly added in the future.
cozmic72,
Cube is good, app is disappointing
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and design of the cube, and found that I can do solves almost as fast as I can on my GAN air SM.

I was thrilled to see the detail and accuracy of the statistics after my first solve (I bought the Edge model, so timing is accurate to 1ms).

What I find incredibly disappointing, is the very limited statistics available in the app for previous on- and off-line solves. I can only find my best time, average number of turns, and average number of turns per solve. That’s it!

I had expected that the app would keep track of my entire history of solves - including turn-by-turn timing; at the very least, I would expect to find AO5, AO12, AO100 timings and charts, but no such luck. (I’m surprised that there is not even replay functionality for the most recent solve. Beginners and advanced cubers alike would appreciate it!)

The main reason I backed the project, was that I was excited about the ability to analyze my solves, and track progress and statistics around splits. Here’s hoping that these features get added to the app in the near future!

(It was really wishful thinking to expect the app to include algorithms and features like OLL/PLL training; I do hope that they will be added at some point too...)
ILH5k,
Below average but lots of potential!
So I bought the GoCube™, and downloaded the ap. It syncs up perfectly. The cube is fantastic. The ap looks fantastic at first, but needs some improvements. First of all, many of the features are “coming soon.” That’s okay. However also I have my doubts about one or two of the recommended algorithms. I keep getting messed up when solving for the bottom cross. Having done it before, I went back to the book that came with the original Rubix cube, and solved it with that no problems! There also seems to be a gap in instructions/tips in part of the process. Finally, The visual recaps for the algorithms are hard to read. You have to go thru each video to know for sure. There’s no sound. You could easily add subtitles and this would help a lot. Great product and great start, but lots of room for improvement. Keep working!
