Additional school districts can be added easily. However, due to the flexibility of the Aspen system, not all features may be available for custom Aspen systems.
Q: How do I know what my Aspen Id is?
A: Your Student Aspen Id is provided by your school district.
For Boston and DC - It's usually 6 to 7 digits such as: 12345567. Parents accounts are usually email addresses.
For CPS - Use the first part of your cps.edu email.
Contact your school administrator to obtain credentials.
Q: How often are grades updated?
A: Grades are updated by teachers periodically. When they do, students can see the updates right away using the App.
Q: Is this app officially supported by my School District?
A: It depends. Grade Corner was created independently by a frustrated parent who had two children attending public schools in Washington, DC. We are working on getting officially endorsed by school districts. Any endorsements by School Districts are listed above.
Q: Is my data secure?
A: As a parent, I understand being protective of grade information. Your grade information never leaves the app and is not stored in any way. See privacy policy for more details.

Added support for schools using Single Sign-On (SSO) for Aspen logins. Many schools use Google, MS Teams, or other systems for a centralized login. Now you can use Grade Corner to view your Aspen grades because we now support SSO login. When adding your credentials, make sure to select 'Use SSO instead of password.' Note that many schools use standard Aspen Id / password for parents, but SSO for students.

Chicago Public Schools Should Learn from This App
Parents and students are normally stuck with a system called Aspen. It looks like it was built in 1998. They must not have a UX team. Anything would be better than the interface they make us wade through right now, on phone apps and desktops. Horrible.
This app though? Bright, cheery, responsive, easy to rotate between kids. Easy to check every day. Login is even faster than the school system’s site and it’s the same authentication procedure! Every parent I know that finds this app is so happy to not have to use Aspen for anything but absence reporting. All the extra admin stuff isn’t available but it makes the core functions easy to find. It’s great!
Two things that need improvement in this app: the schedule tab never shows a schedule even though my high schooler and elementary schoolers have them, and attendance only displays entries by days but not the running total for the quarter, semester or year. I need that as much as grades some times of year. Please add those fields/values. When you do, you could monetize this app.

Useful
The app is very efficient and accessible, as well you don’t have to constantly sign in to check your grades. This is really useful especially when I just want to check them once and then not again until the next day, and I like the feature where it gives you your schedule for the day the previous days and whichever day you would like. Also, the feature to see your attendance is really useful so when I get an absence I can just email a teacher.

Honestly it’s great
I’ve used this app for a little while now because a friend recommended it to me and I gotta say it’s extremely easy to check my grades fast and to see what assignments I’m missing and Ik I sound like a total bot rn but it actually helps a lot it even has like choices of what colors to make your classes so it looks aesthetic and has a little pigeon that waves to you as the loading screen lol as a senior in highschool that needs to keep up with any and every assignment I have this is extremely useful.

Amazing but..
I’m a Chicago Public School Student and logging into my districts website everytime Is really slow especially if you get your password wrong on accident. This app is amazing and great you can check everything so fast and it is so simple I just wish there was notifications for different things for example… notifications for when something gets graded… notifications for when you get a tardy or an absent to make sure if you might have been marked on accident.

As a student it can get really annoying trying to check your grades on aspen which is a especially glitchy website. This app has made it so much easier to check my grades, and a plus is it’s even customizable to fit what you like, however there is a premium that lets you
have custom colors but there are also pretty nice premade sets of colors. Overall its just a great app and I would recommend to all students and parents

Notifications are needed
When it comes to how the app is set up, it’s very nice and easy to access. I wish there was an option to get notifications because it’s inconvenient to have to go and look every single time I get a grade. There is a basic design to the app, just seems a little too simple. Everything is just the same as logging in everytime you want to check your grades , just could use some improvement.

It is so quick and easy to let me know my grades a and to and ssl user friendly I love this app and how easy it is to know your grades and to find out what assessment are due and when it’s really easy to sign in and it’s very user friendly it’s free and saves you a struggle of signing onto your account every time it also gives you notifications every time something is assigned or a grade is posted it’s such a great app

Best app to keep track of students’ grades and assignments
This is the best app ever for a parent and student to keep track of grades and assignments normally in the Aspen system. Very user friendly with the layout! I use it to take snapshots and send to my son as reminders and I’m having him use the app to better keep track of assignments since the layout is better than Aspen. Highly recommend!

easy to use, incredibly useful
This app is absolutely amazing, in so easy to use and makes it so much easier to see my grades. Using aspen, the sign in takes absolutely forever and if I don’t have wifi it doesn’t load. This immediately pulls up both my grades (making it a lot easier to stay on top of them) and my schedule.

It’s simple to use, not too complicated and straight to the point. I love it. I would even say it’s more efficient works well. Sometimes it doesn’t let me sign in but but a couple days later it work again like magic! Thank you for this app and convenient than aspen.
