We've completely rewritten the Alphabet section of the app!
As phones have gotten bigger, we can show more information on each screen, so we took a step back & brought you a beautiful new Alphabet screen.
It now shows both the alphabet and details on the selected letter all on the same screen. And you can tap each letter and the details update automatically; you don't need to bring up and dismiss a detail window each time. Much more convenient!
The list of letters is now on the bottom of the screen, making them easier to reach.
As before, it includes modern and old ("seanchló) fonts, and using the dot-over-the-letter to represent lenition of consonants. And it now includes examples of each letter in Ogham, an old alphabet used for inscribing stones; and Katie Holten's Irish Trees font, which represents each letter with a tree, bush, or vine (based on the Ogham name for each letter).
Update now and see the beautiful new Alphabet screen!

1. We've added even more Vocabulary: Weather and Climate Change. The Vocabulary detail screens have been improved to clearly distinguish the Irish translation, the pronunciation, and a "literal translation" (when necessary, such as "raining").
2. The Apple Watch app has new vocabulary (weather & climate change), and a more pleasant look. Watch Complications are easier to read and better looking, too.
3. Widgets are now easier on the eyes, and the Small widget has a green background so it stands out more and ties back to the app.
4. Greann Gaeilge 3.0 for tvOS is now out, and has all the same features on your Apple TV!

Thanks for your reviews. We're listening to your feedback. Two new features came directly from reviews:
• There are no ads!
• New Apple Watch complications! The Large Utility complication and Large Modular complications are supported, with the current time in Irish. The complications support Time Travel so you can review the numbers in Irish for the time.
There are lots of other new features, too:
• iOS 9 support for Slide Over and Split View multitasking on iPad & iPad Pro.
• All-new Alphabet section. Tap on a letter of the alphabet to see more info.
• All-new Vocabulary Clock. Just swipe up or down to change the time on the Vocabulary clock, which also has a clock face with numbers now.
• Easier, one-tap verb selection with the new custom verb selector control.
• New Apple TV app! All your in-app purchases transfer automatically to the Apple TV version of Greann Gaeilge.
• Welcome message with greeting in Irish on iPad.
• "Blog" tab was renamed to "Tips".
• "Tips" view now is faster (we switched to WKWebView, if you must know)

New, cleaner design shared on both iPhones and iPads (and iPod touches).
On the iPhone, this means all tenses for a verb are displayed at once, and you just scroll vertically through them.
The in-app purchase for extra verb information now shows the additional info when you tap the "info" button (an "i" inside a circle) next to the verb tense.
The app now remembers which verb you selected last, and even which category of verb, when you bring up the Select Verb list.

2010-05-19
1. On the iPad, the Verbs page was modified to allow scrolling, so that additional verb tenses can be added and will show up properly.
2. On the iPad, the Upgrades modal screen is now smaller than full screen, which makes it flow better and fit in better with iPad Human Interface Guidelines.
3. On iPhone, iPod, and iPad, the Upgrade process is now clearer, and it won't allow you to exit the Upgrades screen until the purchase completes or you explicitly cancel it. This makes for a nicer user experience, with no crashes or surprises.
