Tjtomlin 73,
Decent, but very generic info
Connects flawlessly to my Stairmaster HIIT rower, and collects stats well too, however as soon as I’m done rowing it immediately asks to save or delete my workout before I can view all the stats. Then after the workout is saved, can only see the most generic info from my workout, not the more detailed stats. Where did all the details go???
Wish it was more like the RowErg app used with the Concept 2 rower.
Really wish I had bought a Concept 2 rower, only because the RowErg app is 100% better!
Annalovessonic,
Can’t connect most of the time
My gym recommended using this app with their cardio equipment and most of the time it just says “No machines nearby” even when I hit the Bluetooth button on the machines to pair. Yesterday it popped up 3 nearby machines but showed no data when I paired to any of them. Then I restarted the app and it showed nothing nearby. I got it to work one time with a stationary bike and the data was great to correct some of my data recorded in my garmin app that was incorrect like distance. It would be a better app if it worked 100% of the time and also exported to other apps.
Snuffy072,
One Word: Terrible. But there’s a solution!
Just got a True Treadmill, which is terrific. As for the app? Not so much. It links in very well with the treadmill and the data display DURING the workout is good. But then when you go to review the results after the workout is complete, it doesn’t even tell you how far you ran!! That’s kinda sorta important, no?

Fortunately, Life Fitness’s LF Connect also works with my True treadmill, and while you don’t get all the features that you get with a Life Fitness treadmill and their app (upload custom workouts, etc) it does a much better job of recording workouts and transferring them to Apple products. I’ve tried about a dozen other workout apps that are supposed to connect to treadmills and LF’s is the only one that really “talked” to it correctly. I found the trade off with the LifeFitness treadmill vs True was a better deck and a more responsive console with the True, in exchange for a much worse app.

Honestly, True should get rid of this app and just pay to license the LF Connect app and enable all the Life Fitness features (like build your own workouts and upload to the machine) in a firmware update.
ckostie,
Creates a .fit file and nothing else
The only way I can get it to connect consistently to my True PS300 is to hit the Bluetooth button on the treadmill and wait for the four digit number, then open the app. Opening the app before hitting the treadmill button results in never connecting.

App does not sync with Strava. You have to manually save the .fit file and then use the web version of Strava to upload the file.

If you do a heart rate controlled workout on the True, the .fit file will include the warmup time and miles but not the speed or heart rate data. The result is you run at 60 mph for the warm up portion after you upload to Strava. Heart rate is also a straight linear line from beginning until you begin the HRC portion.

The pace shown according to Strava verbs by about 30 seconds per mile at a constant speed. The average shown is correct but the variation per second is not consistent even when you are running at a constant speed.

Elevation data doesn’t show. I am not sure if this is the app or the treadmill though.

When I users Zwift with the treadmill, that app connected immediately and the data doesn’t have the variability and records the whole run including elevation.

About all this app is good for is saving your time and miles. That is after you get it to connect.
Powhoundus,
Very Basic App
Didn’t expect much in bells and whistles. App gives decent basic info but would prefer more flexibility. As an example in the row / kayak ergometer option the only pace I can find is 500m pace. I realize this is standard, although senseless means of pacing in the rowing world, but I’m sure there are other paddlers besides me that aren’t rowers who would prefer at least an option to select mph or km/hr with / without 500m pace.
Greenboy1,
Does not connect as before IOS 15 and above
No stable connection any longer with latest updates. When ar the end try to connect readings are not saved and transmitted to Strava. Still missing health app connection. My machine is True upright ES900 with touch screen and Bluetooth
CoCheev,
Low budget useless app
I’ve never given a negative app review before this one. I have a true treadmill at home and this seems to be the only app I’ve found that records data from it. However, there are basically no features other than saving run data - which it doesn’t even do!!! The past three runs I’ve done since getting the app I have clicked end workout and save and none show up. True needs to actually put some effort into an app to go along with their overly expensive treadmills.
Jwilli12,
Loving the update!
The app is humming along and I love it! The ability to push directly to Strava is game changing. Works great with my TRUE console.
Disappointed Shopper84628,
Needs some work
The Bluetooth connection is problematic at best and sometimes won’t even record the workout. It’s frustrating to have to mess around with the Bluetooth for several tries every workout. There’s no integration with apple health. When it does record, it does give you quite a bit.
wkwan,
This is no better than a middle school programming project...
The app just can’t be considered a product. It lacks functionality and the features don’t work properly. It is useless. I would ashame if I am the company developing this app especially since the app is supposed to compliment relatively expensive TRUE Fitness equipment.
