Echo1230,
An Almost Perfect App
I like the setup of this comic book making app. It really makes making comics so easy, but it’s just short of a couple features to being the perfect app.

1) I’d like to have the option to draw within the panels for rough sketches or draw my panels instead of solely relying on photos to fill the pages, maybe even make the drawings a middle layer between the photos and the speech bubbles. Just your typical photoshop tools like the pencil, a vector pen, a fill paint bucket, etc.

2) There should be a tool that lets the user make his own custom pages, like, for example, the user starts of with a single box in a page. Every time they swipe their finger across the box, it divides box into different panels according to the user’s swipe. I’ve seen a similar feature used in another app called “ibisPaint X,” and it’s pretty effective for what it is.

I really hope that y’all take this feedback into consideration for your next update. I enjoy how easy this app makes comic books, and I’d love for it to get better.
Stonehewn,
Suggestions
I use Halftone 2 quite a bit. I enjoy creating hopefully funny cartoons to post on Facebook. On my most recent piece, I realized there was a way to to block text without a white box. A nice tool as it allows my artwork to not be completely obliterated by boxes and text. Would be nice if there was a speech balloon and thought balloon that also did that. While I was in Photos looking at both the original and the Halftone 2 versions, I noticed that the file size for Halftone 2 was much smaller than the original. Not a problem for online posting but if I wanted it printed up large, I’m sure it would be an issue. Very fun app though.
mwcarlson,
New Content?
I’d have given the app 5 stars if it for the fact that the developers appear to be unconcerned about the creation of new or additional content. While they have a couple of packs you can purchase that provide some additional layout options and graphics, they haven’t released any additional content in the year or more I’ve been using the app.

Barring fresh content to keep interest high, it leaves the user responsible to create their own png graphics to festoon comics. And while that is a-ok given the functionality of the app, it would be nice to see some new content offered.
EpicEpicFail,
No longer works
This is a great app that unfortunately, no longer works. I loved it. Sadly, I can no longer open any saved files or to create a new one. Deleting and reinstalling does not work either. Hopefully the developers can do something about it. Otherwise it's quite a waste
Thomas Veil,
HOORAY! Finally updated for iOS 12
Halftone 2 has come a long way since the original version. You can make some pretty sophisticated-looking comics with this app.

Only two things I'd suggest: give us a way to name our archived projects (they're currently given only a date, which isn't much help if you design two or more comics in one day); and let us protect our projects with a password. It'd also be nice if Halftone 2's companion app, Layout, let us design diagonal panels as well.

All in all though, this is a lot of fun!
gvivster,
Making the balloon tails curve the other way
It seemed like you can't change the curve of the word balloon tails to curve in the opposite direction. You have to scroll down in the Style menu to get to that option. It took me a while to figure out (thanks, person in charge of the Facebook page!). There's really no indication of being able to scroll down in that menu. I hope they add that in future versions. Otherwise, awesome app! Meets my needs wonderfully!
ChrisB in SEA,
Great until now...
I have used Halftone 2 extensively in multi-page epics. The learning curve is steep, some of the controls are fiddly but it’s great for what I’ve wanted to do. Except in the past week, the app is losing my photos as I work on the projects to the point that I have to import them again and again and hope I can export the finished pages before they disappear again. It’s extremely frustrating because it’s a great app, but if you can’t save the raw files even while you’re working on them, what’s the point?
MeriBeri***,
Doesn't work!
I just bought this app. I followed the instructions and loaded a new blank page. I clicked on the dial for load picture, but it didn't provide me with access to any of my pictures on this iPad or the opportunity to get it from a linked media site. I tried and clicked on take a picture and the screen did nothing. I even tried edit landscape, as supposedly it is something you can choose to place your picture in and maybe I needed to do that first. Still nothing! So disappointed in a highly recommended app :-(
MBP333,
Swift Upgrade to Fix Issues with iOS 12
This is a FABULOUS app‼️I enjoy making my creations into both PDF docs and JPEGs. (I turn off halftone when I want “high def photo quality”.) It makes great 4x6 photos on my Kodak Dock & Wi-Fi photo printer. (I make personal reminders, reference instructions, book summary highlights, motivational inspirations, and social media postings.) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🎶🎶.
Mallingong,
App has gone to crap
The first version was better, you don’t have to fight to remove a tone of extra effects that you don’t want, and normal export was easy.

This version has more options but everything is way more difficult to to just basic functions.

Also, there are weird visual glitches interrupting the editing process now.
