Description
HAND in Hand is powered by Apple's ResearchKit, allowing you to participate in a medical research study focused on HIV Associated Neurocognitive Disorders (HAND). HAND can occur when HIV enters the nervous system and adversely affects the health of the nerve cells. The BrainBaseline cognitive testing platform has teamed up with the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the hopes that this app will further our research into HAND, but also help you gain insights in how your activities and behaviors may affect your neurocognitive health.
While participating in the study, the app will gather three types of information:
1. Health information will be gathered and recorded via your device’s Health app
2. You will complete a few short surveys to understand general demographic and lifestyle information that is important to the study
3. As a participant, you will be asked to complete weekly BrainBaseline assessments to track cognitive function over the course of the study
Researchers will use the information the app gathers to better understand HIV and the lifestyle of those who live with it. We invite you to participate as we combine survey, assessment, and health data to bring us closer to understanding this disease and the underlying cognitive effects on people living with this condition.
