RichardW37,
Poor response from support.
This app as a concept and design Is great. It stores all your workout with the details needed and seamlessly progresses through each move and to each day in your chosen routine and shows you what you did the previous workout of that kind. It makes thinking not necessary and helps you get through workouts with minimal mental effort if you prefer which is great for my early mornings. I personally think the price is too high but likely would have tried it for a few months to decide if it was ultimately worth it to me. I hit a bug in one of the routines where I could no longer advance to the next workout day. I sent three separate emails to customer support and received zero responses. That was enough for me to uninstall the app. 9.99 is a premium monthly price. Which comes with premium expectations. If there had been a response I would have accepted that this is a new app and glitches will be found.

No Free / Trial Option — Borders on Predatory
Overall app looks extremely well designed. But as it stands it’s impossible to take a tour of its features without paying for a subscription. After logging in with Apple/Google/etc you’re immediately shoved into a subscription page. The issue isn’t the cost or need of a subscription—but the fact that I’m not even offered a chance to see what the app has to offer (and what I’m missing without a subscription) immediately makes me lose interest as a user. My advice: - Offer a 7 day trial for new accounts - Offer a lite version that allows new users to browse features and THEN go to the subscription page when they interact with a paid service

Update: app now offers a 7 day trial. However, I still loathe the UX design of locking out any interaction until a form of payment is processed. Will change to three stars.

Decent, but expensive.
The app is pretty well done, but it is expensive for what is mostly a straightforward fitness tracker. There is definitely no need for it to be a subscription for such lightweight user data. If cost doesn’t matter to you, go for it. Otherwise, it’s definitely not necessary for your Harambe/resistance band workouts.

GAME CHANGER!!
I will preface this with the fact that I’ve been an affiliate and Harambe user from the beginning of its inception, and I had to come and leave an honest review.

I have been using this app from the early test days when it was not nearly as feature-rich and jam packed with value as it is today, and seeing the care, time, and quite frankly the immense expense it took the company’s founder, Khalid, to release this with quality was very impressive. He did not release the app too early before it was ready, took feedback from all of his beta testers, and did not accept anything less than perfection when it came to user experience.

The result is a very CLEAN app and smooth user experience that now works well for ALL your workout tracking, even if you don’t use the Harambe System or residence bands. You can use this with calisthenics, weights, whatever you want! And it ACTUALLY syncs across your devices like iPhone, iPad, and likely Apple Watch in the future too!

The ability to update my workouts, copy others’ workouts, create upload my own workouts is just the beginning. I personally look forward to using it every day and it is so easy when doing it in my iPad in a big screen with a keyboard, but just as easy on my phone when I’m traveling.

Apparently the company is going to continue to put money into this on a monthly basis to ensure that it is continued to be supported, and that additional features are added.

Make the jump and pony up the subscription if you are able, it’s truly worth the time it will save you in the long run, and still way cheaper than competitor apps that claim to do the same thing.

Hope this helps anyone on the fence, waiting to pull the trigger.

Excellent Harambe System Companion App
Updating my previous review since pricing has been changed (lowered).

Anyone who is using Harambe System and wishes to track their workouts digitally, this app is the solution. I’ve used so many workout tracker apps and none of them are built for band tracking, it’s always a compromise of entering in weights that correspond to the bands you use, but aren’t totally accurate. This app allows for that specific band tracking, but also works with tracking weighted exercises as well.

The app has a bit of a learning curve in setting up all of your workouts and equipment if you wish to customize it, but there is a quick tutorial video linked in the app that will guide you through how to do it. It’s only a few minutes long and definitely worth watching. I’ve actually enjoyed tweaking everything in the app and spending time to personalize it for myself.

Prior to this app being released I used the workout booklets you could purchase in the HS store. Those were nice and you could select which program you wanted to do (PPL or Harambro). Now with the app I have all of the programs made by Harambe System, as well as the ones shared by users like Chris Juede. IMO, the value of this alone is worth more than the annual app fee.

Also, for iPad users (I am one of them) the app for iPad works fantastic. I like to track my workouts on an iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and the app spans the entire screen as well as syncing across devices (iPhone and iPad). This was a nice touch as several other workout apps I’ve used compromise the iPad experience in so many ways.

I’ve been a Harambe System user since 2021 and have seen several products evolve as the founder/creator takes customer feedback and his own user experiences to innovate and improve products. I’m hopeful that this app will be another example of that and we will continue to see quality of life improvements as well as innovative solutions to workout tracking digitally.
