Play in an entirely different dreamscape.
This is by far the best cards app if you dream about escaping to the medieval times. Forget Vegas, the casinos, and showgirls; bring on the rainbows, magic spells, and gnomes! I love that there are no ads to disrupt game flow, the board is easy to understand, and the sound effects are mesmerizing. I can almost walk in a trance listening to the dreamscape background music along with the occasional noise of waves splashing against the rocks, plus the toll of clock tower bells. The graphics are incredible!
I love the options available to play with others online, speed up the animation, disable shooting the moon, enable Jack of Diamonds, vary the intelligence level, and maximum scoring. The app is also smart enough to know when a player is left with all remaining points, or when no further points are available, and wraps the hands up for you instead of having you trudge through each hand manually.
I also love that you can shut off the background melody and instead play the game either silently or with your own music from your phone. If you want to keep hearing the magical effects in the background, however, you have to keep your phone’s ringer switch on, and even so the volume of your phone’s music will drown out anything you can hear from the app.
Overall, I still give Hardwood Hearts 5 stars for such an immersive experience!

Great Game ! Lucked into this beauty on the App Store ! They host 4 games to my knowledge including Hearts , Spades , Euchre & Backgammon if I am not mistaken ! There is a mystical feel to the games including visual special effects & sounds that add a mysterious feel to the games ! There are unique backgrounds & avatars that add to the Middle Ages feel this game exudes ! Another thing I like is the natural feel of the distribution of the cards & fast play ! Like sitting around the round table with friends or family but with your best Masquerade outfit on ! If you like something truly unique then try it as a guest as I did ! Graphics great; built-in cheats frustrating in standalone play.
Almost always dealt two of clubs, five of hearts virtually guarantees that you’ll take a trick all hearts (2, 3, 4), passing the ace or king or both of spades virtually guarantees you will be passed the queen of spades, typically you will be passed the same suit(s) as you passed, if you get a significant lead you will be dealt a virtually-unprotected queen of spades on a no-pass hand. When one takes the queen of spades it is most frequently with a club trick - easy for programmers to set this up. There is a key weakness wherein I can shoot the moon because the software fails to take the queen of spades - though it could - if I have the last heart to be lead after the queen.
There are other obvious patterns.
I would prefer a no-cheat game. However, that would expose the inability of the programmers to deliver a sufficient level of software intelligence.
I imagine a response to my complaints might be “we cheat to artificially challenge the player in order to improve player skills, blah blah…”.
That said, I suppose many (most?) play the game real-time with online opponents. Are the Hardwood folks interceding/cheating in that area too?
Must admit - I admire the ‘cheating’ algorithms!
Regardless, the game helps pass time in physician waiting rooms….
…and far superior to other hearts games I’ve found.

Rigged. Totally rigged.
I’ve been playing Heartwood Hearts for a couple years now. Its addicting and fun. HOWEVER!!!! It’s extremely ANNOYING that it’s rigged. The deal is never just a “natural” deal. Oddly, seems the 2, 3, 4 and 5 of hearts is always dealt evenly between the four players. Also, if you get to a 1500+ rating, look out. You’ll start getting dealt the crap deals and pretty much every hand you’ll get passed crap cards. You’ll RARELY see anyone with a 1600+ rating and why do you think that is? Because it’s rigged. When you get in to the 1500’s, consider yourself at your highest peak. Recently the game added a “Cut Deck” feature. I assume this was to make the player think they are getting a natural deal. Not! Cut Deck is a joke as it changed nothing.

I was introduced to the online game years ago when both of my parents and my brother would come together in a room to play like a family, just as we did growing up!
My dad doesn't have his own computer anymore , so we no longer play online, but still play when we physically get together.
I still enjoy playing offline against bots!

The game is pretty awesome. I really like it. Not just the game but the players as well. But one of the issues I have is with a player named fat bob...... you can’t even have a nic similar to his because he thinks is about him. Everything you do in lobby he thinks is about him. So what does he do? He cries to guides and not all the guides but some of them actually believe his complaints and those guides just jump right into conclusions instead of finding out what is really going on. Which is pretty sad that some of the guides do that. It seems like this player fat bob hold their balls...But overall the game is great , the graphics are awesome..

I’ve tried several game of hearts and so far this seems to be the best. There seems to be no cheating as of adding points to different peoples hands. The only problem I really have had so far with this game is the announcement that pops up at the beginning and it stays in the middle of the board and you can’t see what cards have been played.

I love this game and have for many years. The background is just beautiful and the cars choices and character choices are cute and fun. When playing against the. Computer you can set it to challenge. When playing against real people it’s more fun. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves to play hearts.

Still entertaining
I have been playing, Silver Creek games for years including Hearts,Spades, Solitaire, and euchre. Always enjoyed them, but now there is too much commercials and other distractions. I understand that they must try to get some compensation for their product, however it should not be so intrusive. I would have given a 5 Star rating but for this problem.

I have been learning Hearts thru this online game. Great fun, except that players can quit and frequently do. Halfway through or even near the end, someone is losing or they don’t like their hand, they bail! Very annoying. Also it allows a host to boot you from a game. I don’t understand why, I don’t know the players, and I have been uninvited and kicked off a game. Some players make aggressive or rude comments. I am just looking for clean fun and learning.
