Filmora,
Ads, popup's pesky videos
Why is it that we have to put up with all the above in order to read one of the best if not the best news coverage that's available?
If I was Drudge I would be doing something about all the embedded dishonest like walking through a field just to read latest " honest and most accurate " news... with a BIG- HINT, HINT DRUDGE ( ???? ) thanks for only the best news part , really does anyone care anymore ? So sad, all about $$$$& huh?

SAD DAY AMERICA...! When reading the best news is like walking through a mine field traps of all sorts of pesky apps, pure CRAP! Lots of them either take over your smart phone or actually locks/shuts you out of reading drudge news...! Often I even have to power down my phone to just recover to use my phone. So, the only way that I can read drudge is don't finger tap 80 % of what I wanted to read, to reduce threat level of being attacked. Daily after reading drudge , I dump it by removing/deleting app until tomorrow. Only App that I actually/honestly am more excited of my daily deleting it than I am getting/downloading it . SAD DAY AMERICA, REALLY!
Mountain low,
Good content
Interesting articles without having to search the internet. Articles that are probably suppressed elsewhere. Very well structured and easy to navigate.
Rodent oxen,
Was a major storage hog....until....
Overall I am happy with the app (despite the pop-up ads issues documented here). I was shocked, however, with the amount of storage it was taking up on my iPhone: 4.5 GB!!). I found a solution via trial and error. I deleted the app (via "manage storage" under the IPhone's general settings and freed up the 4.5GB. I even got a warning that I would lose all my Drudge documents and data - never thought or knew I was storing it's docs and data so I did not care. After deleting, the 4.5GB git freed up. I then went to the Apps store and reinstalled the program (from the cloud). Bingo! The program works and "manage storage" showed only the initial program size (a hell of a difference in overhead). I am going to keep using the app, however, will routinely do the delete and reinstall to keep its size (and my iPhone's available storage) under control. I don't know why it holds on to stored docs and data - I never initiated storing that stuff). Highly recommend doing what I did for this app and its voracious storage consumption. My whole process took less than 30 seconds and I recovered a lot of storage space by doing so.
Pat_rat,
Content vs Presentation
Few places on the ever expanding web hold even a kernel of truth that you'll find here. Try it for a week straight and you'll see for yourself, or grow mature enough and try again to see if you can wake up to the world around you and begin to think and reason for yourself. If you don't want ads, download an adblocker... Fool. Or take ads for what they are and realize every website and app has ads on it in order to thrive. Do you know how much newspaper subscriptions cost? Drudge doesn't ask you personally for money. He provides a real-time feed of news around the world, free of charge. There are few people that command as much respect for their effort as Mr. Drudge. Dittos Mr. Drudge. Long Live Drudge.
Mark Miclette,
Updated July 15/ Love it now!
Drudge has been my 'go to' since he got started. That said, I'm spending too much time having to refresh the app to escape the endless spam that takes over my phone's browser. I understand ads are necessary, but spam only pays for itself for about three user sessions, then they are gone forever. Deleting this app after I write this. C'mon Matt! Still love your work, but this app spam is pure evil.

Update: Tried app again for a week and now happy to see spam ads gone. Changing to Five Stars. Thanks Matt!
AirmanGarrett,
Much lag
1st: Love DR. Check it many times each day. The new update, while totally ripping off the earlier/better version, is markedly improved.

2nd: Because I'm on it so often, I notice tremendous lag more often than not. There is far more wait-time with the new iPhone app than with the one-size-fits-all app. If you can figure that out, then congrats - you made it full circle back to the original (or +5 updates back) version!

3rd: Why not have link-share options as part of the app? Being the media genius Matt Drudge is, you'd think want free advertising by letting people post to Facebook or tweet or text directly from the app.

4th: I can tell I'm getting increasingly agitated writing this review as I remember how amazing the old version was. So, stop 'helping' us access Drudge Report if helping really means stripping/slowing things down.

5th: Is Matt Drudge, unbeknownst to him, actually hiring lib-tard developers who are actually sabotaging him?

6th: That last part felt mean. Creating an app is probably really difficult. Thanks for an app that is slightly better than the full website version.
Nwilsdeb,
Would Give it 5 Stars but....
When you can actually read an article, it's a great news source. It's nearly impossible to read one. Many of the articles you only get to read some of it To read the rest of the article you have to subscribe to and pay for the app, ex Washington Post etc. PLUS So many pop-up ads, and they don't go away. They take up the entire screen. Hit the close or x button, it will just repeat the ad. I realized I spend more time trying to close ads than reading the articles. Plus, beside the pop-up ads, each article is followed by rediculous ads as news worthy or entertainment gossip stories...selling diet products. Needless to say....I'm removing it.

Have been adding to the totals for Drudge site hits for years now. For being one of the hottest and most influential online news sites out there, you’d think Matt would have something worth keeping for a mobile device interface. I hate this app and have for a very long time. I keep deleting out of frustration and then reloading to try again every six months or so but it only gets worse over time. The last 100 or so visits I’ve made to this app have ended in frustration from all the adds and pop-ups. Today I delete for good. I’m guessing that Matt Drudge doesn’t really care though..... the next “thanks a billion” headline he puts up only indicates he cares about web-hits to his site and not the satisfaction of his readers/followers.
33ond88,
This app is terribly lacking useability
I've tried using this app over the years and it has always disappointed me. My biggest complaint is constantly dealing with blank screens after clicking the links and having to re-load the entire app to refresh. Alternative apps have disappeared (like Simply Drudge) that were FAR SUPERIOR GUI & Useability. I've been waiting and I'm still disappointed in this "official app". I'm not nitpicking either.. This app truly needs improvement still even after developer change. It's one of the only news sources I care for so I will continue clunky use with fingers crossed of future improvements (or alternatives).
retiredcopper,
Drudge is losing me
I’ve been a fan of Drudge for years and loved his site. But lately, instead of reading the articles he links to, I spend the vast majority of my time deleting endless pop-ups, unwanted videos and fighting to keep my screen from going blank, rather than reading the informative articles I want to read.

My Drudge Report’s app has gotten frustrating to use and is no longer an interesting place to visit. But until Drudge gets rid of all those annoying pop ups, I’m forced to go elsewhere for my news.

It’s too bad, Drudge had a good thing going and has built up quite a following. But with fame, it seems Mr Drudge must feel it’s ok to cash in by bombarding his viewers with those endless ads.
