ninside,
Great campaign albeit short, raw multiplayer
Game flows great and fighting mechanics is a good combo of idle like rpg and active battle choices. Campaign is short though :( And then multiplayer feels raw. Progression is not clear. Only few daily quests. I think a good battle pass like system is essential. Heroes of the storm died because of poor quests system. It is challenging as we can’t pay and you need to keeps us around for a while. But so far matches felt unrewarding. Connection is either not stable or I am connected with players across the globe. Maps with monster spawn control don’t provide visuals clue on who controls what. Anyway I enjoyed the campaign and will be keeping eye on updates. Will most likely play a match or two with my friends. M1 MacBook could use a higher resolution as well. My m1 max connected to 5k screen but game feels like 1080p

……. Just lost all my progress due to cloud issues. My phone was not picking up changes from Apple TV. So I clicked reset on iPhone and it did reset on all the devices!!! :( seems like cloud sync is still an issue in 2022
abuelito,
Not a fan of the genre, but love this game
These kind of tower defense/offense games are not usually my bag, but Heroish really grabbed me. Story, combat, level variety, difficulty and progression all come together to make for a memorable and rewarding experience.

Just finished the first campaign, after failing a couple times on the Ursa level. To those who are having trouble with it — try shifting to less expensive cards and building your forces both behind and in front of the moving cart. Delaying Ursa makes it possible to activate barriers, so you can focus on protecting the cart from the standard mobs. Keep at it — it’s definitely beatable!

Good Single Player, But That’s It
First the good: The single player campaign is a huge amount of fun. I really enjoyed trying different decks and wish there was more of it (it’s very short). There is a lot of variety in the heroes and the cards that keep things interesting.

The bad: After you finish the single player campaign there’s not a lot of reason to go back to it. I wish it was possible to replay levels to continue to upgrade your cards. Even though there would really be no practical application for it, I think it would be fun to try to max out an entire deck.

The ugly: The multiplayer is not fun at all. None of your card levels from single player carry over, so starting a multiplayer game is like starting over from the very beginning. Even the heroes unlocked in single player are not available in multiplayer. Furthermore, it is incredibly unbalanced, with some of the heroes vastly superior to the others.

The bottom line: if they would add in the ability to replay levels during the campaign I would still be playing this game to try to max out all cards and heroes. As it is, the multiplayer is not enough to keep me interested due to its unbalanced nature. I will keep the game installed so I can revisit after the next update, but don’t plan to play any more until then.
Jahx91,
Amazing Game!
It’s an amazing game. No pay to win at all, it’s all VERY skilled based, fun, super addictive. I feel it’s underrated and can be up there. It’s kinda like LoL where you have to get to your enemies gem and destroy it.

Not a 5 star rating because of some bug issues that need fixing asap. The game freezes sometimes before a match starts and even after I finish a match and win. I have to take the loss literally after I won and destroyed the enemy gem because it freezes cause me to lose my rank in ranked play.

There was also a time where I died and it said respawns in 0 seconds and literally stayed like that the whole game while the other player kept playing.

The character Vega needs fixing. The companion sometimes stays there doing nothing even though I’m attacking something sometimes. You could also be facing forward and use an ability and for some reason it shoots it backwards sometimes.

Other than those bugs, amazing game. Must try!

Decent Game, But Needs Improvements
Pretty fun game to play but there needs to be some balancing/updates. During online PvP, melee heroes are capable of ignoring troops and tower damage to destroy towers. As a result multiplayer games require zero strategy, last about one minute, and aren’t fun to play. Other players will literally run through my army, pass me by, and start attacking my towers…and win.

The campaign, split into three sections, is fun but way too short. You can replay the campaign as different heroes but there is no incentive to do so; no experience, cards found, or gold will transfer to multiplayer so ultimately why bother.

The game is pretty, lighthearted and I’m hopeful the developers will improve the negatives listed above.

Fun game, short series
Really enjoyed the game. I like that there are different difficulty levels that you can choose. But the saddest part was just as I was getting a hang of it, and feeling like my line-up was improving, the “story” for that hero ended. And then I was left having to start over with a different hero/story. So many of my cards were left unused and never leveled. Wish it was built so you keep leveling up and getting new cards to level up. The short ending was a bit unsatisfactory. Otherwise it was fun!
BrufusSwift79,
Great foundation…now for balance and support
Was truly surprised at how unique and fun this game is. Unfortunately, the multiplayer is clearly a bit of an afterthought. There are MAJOR balance issues in the melee heroes, especially Flynn (the first hero you start with) being just plain better than others. Also, the drip feed of gold used to upgrade your cards (only gained through 3 daily quests) is a bummer. Kills the desire to play much. Those two factors mean multiplayer is dead on arrival sadly.

All this being said, the devs have clearly designed a unique strategy title here that I truly wish would be supported-there’s some work to do though.
Bored appsgoer,
Great, but could be better.
So I’m currently stuck on Ursa Peak because no combination of cards that I’ve tried can allow me to delay Bulvi, protect the cart, *and* let me scout ahead to kill towers and build barricades at the same time.

I’m playing Vega, so I’m just as squishy as the cart, and, by the time I’ve saved up the Energy to spawn a Bulwark to distract Bulvi, my cart’s already swimming in wasps, or, Bearzerkers forbid, turtles / owls.

The towers are even more obnoxious, as is the fact that failed quests give you nothing. Once you hit the level cap, and have completed every sidequest currently available to you, you have no gold income.

Upgraded your units in a way that seemed good at the time, but results in you being stuck in a particular level? Tough luck, there’s no way to refund your upgrades and, if you have found all secret chests and done all sidequests, you’re just stuck there forever.

Extremely annoying. I just want to continue the story without being some bear’s punching bag.

Fun… Multiplayer Match Making Flawed
Single player campaign is great with fun characters and enjoyable gameplay.

I also enjoyed multiplayer, however in an attempt to correct end of match glitches the latest update makes it close to impossible to join matches at epic tier. Of close to 50 attempts to join I continue to wait until the lobby opens no player joins(likely a time out and there was no player) then the lobby closes. This leaves only AI fights available. Will keep the game as its really fun when working but hopefully an update will be ready soon to correct the inability to join multiplayer matches.
Axiomagical,
Good but Easy Singleplayer
Single player is easy, even on hard mode. Graphics and story are lovely. Haven’t tried brutal, but not sure I’m motivated. Was looking forward to multiplayer, but as of Oct 31, only one level loads for “quick play” and I’ve never had “ranked” work (always times out searching for a match). It’s been a while since release, and game still seems unfinished. Given the slow unsubstantial updates, I’m not holding my breath, but would like to see a multiplayer update. This was obviously a project of passion for somebody at some point, so I’m hopeful.
