WARNING: Older devices will not be able to run the biggest scenarios. You need a device with good GPU/CPU performances in order to run those, it is hard to tell which iPad/iPhone can or cannot run those. iPhone X (Any 2017 device) and above should run those fine. You will still be able to play any of the campaign scenarios with any device, there is a hundred of them (or play in multiplayer).

ADDITIONS
• Brand new upkeep mechanics (optional setting). Default OFF. This new setting aims at bringing more balance to the game. Each unit now have an upkeep cost that will be removed from the player's income at the beginning of every turn. Upkeep is reduced when a player is not at war with anybody (-70%).
• Brand new income tooltip, shows a short breakdown of the income of the player. Including the upkeep for each category of units. Upkeep part is hidden if upkeep is turned OFF.

• 'Truce' mechanics for Diplomacy. When two countries make peace, they automatically make a truce. The truce lasts for 6 in game months, based on days per turn value. So, if the scenario you are playing has a 7 days per turn value, this will be 182 (6 months) / 7 = 26 turns. Truces can be broken, but you will have to pay an entire turn of your income to your enemy as a penalty for breaking the truce.

• Further improved balanced between sub damage and destroyers.
• Winter damage now is based on the MP (Movement Point) cost of the tile. So, road will deal -1 HP of attrition, while thick forest will deal -3 HP. The slider in the settings now acts as a modifier. Meaning 0 is x0, 1 is x1, 2 is x2 etc.
• Operation Market Garden further balance changes.
• AI will no longer buy units from allies having another ideology than theirs if historical focus is ON (Axis excluded since Germany was a major supplier).
• Upgrading or downgrading a unit will now apply an experience loss of - 10 XP.

• Ships have seen their damage dealt to LAND units reduced by an extra 5%.

MODDING JUST CAME TO HEX OF STEEL!

You can get mods from the steam workshop and transfer them onto your iphone/ipad using the Files app OR use the brand new site a Hex of Steel player made himself registering all mods from the workshop and download them from there.

All you have to do is:
- Download mods.
- Extract them (unzipping).
- Place the mod folder in the MODS folder in the Files app in the Hex of Steel folder.
- Launch the game, go to Mods and activate the mods you want to play with!

Hello fellow wargamers!

Something that I wanted to do for a long time was to change the way events worked.

I don't know why I had implemented it as I did in the first place, but it clearly was not optimal and not versatile.

With this update, events are more modular than ever! And they will work the way people would think they should work (onTrigger -> doAction(s)).

Events now consists of a trigger, and a list of actions.
You can have an unlimited amount of actions per event.

So far there are only 3 triggers:
onDateReached
onTurnCount
onVPcaptured


An event can only have one trigger at a time.

Actions available are the following:
- Show message
- Add money
- Add HQ points
- Change faction
- Declare War
- Make peace
- Make peace with faction
- Make alliance
- Set VP ownership
- Capitulation
- Add unit to reserve
- Spawn unit (with custom level).


More actions/triggers will/can be added later... Feel free to suggest some in the comments, I'll read through and eventually implement them if doable/relevant.

If you made custom maps and are worried about what will happen with this update, fear not, I have made a automatic conversion tool that will automatically convert old events into new ones.
All you have to do, is open your map in the map editor, and hit save! Events will be converted.

Events from your current playthrough will also be converted upon loading of any save.

• Missiles (V1s, V2s... or modded ones) would have an encirclement penalty apply to them, which makes no sense.
• One freeze instance in the store when trying to toggle ON then toggle OFF the veteran option.
• Encirclement modifier was off.
• You could not build buildings in unhabitated islands.
• Modded heroes not showing up in game (white rectangle instead).
• When calculating each player's income, AI was not taking into account occupation, therefore an AI could think it was winning while in reality not really since its mostly occupying a lot of territory and not getting a lot of income from it.
• Upgrading/downgrading a unit was not synced during real time multiplayer.
• Damage in real time multiplayer were not animated.
• XP in real time multiplayer were not animated.
• Level up animation was not showed in real time multiplayer.

Defending a bridge is actually not standing on the bridge but keeping an entire side of the river and shooting at anything that tries to cross it. So it makes sense to have a defensive bonus while being on the tile. Before, you had a debuff to be on the tile.
• AT guns and AT units (SPGs) as well as AA units will now have the possibility to make enemy units retreat when making a successful attack. It was an oversight from my end, it should have been there since the beginning, it's now 'fixed'.
• Brought Volkssturm HP on the same base as everyone else (from 50 HP to 100 HP). If conscripts have 100 HP, so should the Volkssturm. They still have very low stats, and lower stats than regular light infantry.
• Added back 1 visibility to pontoon bridges unit in order to fix a stacking issue.

Closest thing to panzer corps we will get on iPhone
Love this game ! This is the closest thing we will ever get to panzer corps on iPhone . You are doing AMAZING work ! However I have one issue (thus why it’s 4 stars )
On the new iPhones with “Dynamic island “ (D.I.) the D.I. Takes up a good portion of the menu on the side when playing . I don’t know if you guys can do anything or add a option to move side bar around or something cause it’s a giant pain . Again this is not the developers fault and I will 100% continue to support the game with DLC or any purchases I can make ! Keep up the amazing work.

Crashes all the time.
I tried giving this a solid run through several of the maps and the German campaign. Nearly every time I ended a round the app crashed. In the middle of several dozen turns, the app crashed. I’m currently running a Pacific map playing team Japan. After every end of turn, the app crashed. In fact, I’m trying to advance beyond round five and can’t because it crashes at the same point every time as the AI teams are taking their turns. I literally cannot advance this game any further! I’ve tried replaying the round from a previous save and still had ten straight crashes right after AI Netherland’s turn!

So why 2 stars? This game actually has a lot of potential. The AI doesn’t make moronic decisions like many other strategy games. In fact, I’m curious as to why exactly the game crashes when it does. It’s almost as if it’s overtaxing the iPad’s ability to compute what the AI is doing. Some of the other crashes appeared to be graphics related. I love the unit options and realism. The prices are a bit too high but it’s within tolerance. The terrain and weather effects are also great. I tried the upgrade option a few times and couldn’t figure it out. There are too few menu helps. With some fixes, this game can be the best of the turn based strategy games. Please, please please fix the crash problems for the iOS platforms.

There are few problems
So the game just came to mobile so I can't be harsh. I have a feeling most of the things Im going to say will be fixed at some point so, its just a friendly reminder. One thing Id like to see added would be a help bar. This is due to the fact that I have no idea how to resupply. What the "help bar" would do is to help players get more comfortable witht he game. Everything included would be from simple movements to complex things you have added in your game. It could festure the how resupply works to how certain terrains effect troops. I see the bar on the side panel with the icons but, all I see is "no cost" and nothing happens. I think it would also benifit to new players of TBS and bring more people to love the game. Another thing is that the AI won't do their turn. Usually stuck looking at one unit for awhile and I have to restart the load for it to work. Other than those things I have no complaints on the game. It is a master piece and just as good as any Easy Tech game Ive played. So hats off to you for making a greating game. Play Balance
I just got this a few days ago. The play balance is not historically accurate. And, if played over a number of turns, becomes very lopsided in favor of the AI. I am playing the Italy 1943 campaign, and I notice that the refurbish/resupply points for the human player (USA and Great Britain in this case) are very low (200 to 600) while the axis are generally 2000 (Germany) to 6000 (Italy) per turn. What this invariably leads to is constant regeneration/healing of Axis Units, while allied units are not provided the same luxury. Eventually this leads to the axis player generating an overwhelming force. For example, at least three battleships, and numerous paratrooper units. In reality, the Italians had few such units in real life. And, if I remember correctly, the Italian Navy was pretty much non existent in 1943. Also, the Italian Air Force, over a number of turns becomes a dominating force on the battlefield. So much so, that the play balance is so lopsided that the game becomes a no joy. My recommendation is to re-examine the refurbish/resupply per turn for all players, both human and AI to reach a more balanced battle. I played both the normal and hard battle settings.
Addressing this issue will make this a great game.

Best mobile strategy game I’ve played
I’m loving the game. Well worth the price tag you have on it. The mechanics are so simple but deep at the same time. I only have a few problems that I’m sure are only issues on mobile. First I have an iPhone 12 and the rounded corners cut off the supply and menu button. I can still push the menu button but can only see the last 3 numbers of how much supply I have. Also there’s no way to see the detailed unit info for example the bonus that generals give units. Also I can’t figure out a way to see the detailed info for different hexes as far as the defensive bonus’s they give. Also it’s a little wonky trying to de select aircraft without accidentally moving them. Other than that this game is amazing keep up the great work!

A important thing to consider
A few tips and improvements: I can't give you five stars for these reasons, but the game itself is a good one. The problem that the Apple version of the European map will flash back after opening the map needs to be solved. I remember that this problem did not exist in the previous version, so I believe the author can definitely solve this problem. This is a suggestion to create a folder dedicated to this game, similar to the archive mobile version of My World, so that the mobile version of the real implementation of module loading and unloading can better combine multiple, now the mobile version of the module is just a decoration, can not be imported, I hope you can solve these problems as soon as possible

Great game been really enjoying the new update, except now it seems the AI is constantly trying to naval invade, which in a standalone scenario isnt so bad when i can modify my money production, but in a campaign focusing on land operations it gets to be a massive pain. Forcing you to invest into a significantly larger navy, occupying all tiles next to water, or purchasing defense's. All of which are extremely expensive, taking away funding for offensive operations. Also coastal guns can only be built around harbors and harbors cant be built at all. I would suggest either allowing coastal guns on coastal tiles or allowing engineers to build harbors, as they can already build airfields and factory's.

Hi I asked a question in my review and your answer seemed like a generic answer. Your response concerned mostly Macs which I didn’t ask about. Let me try again; I am only concerned with IOS. Do you have a link where I could find documentation explaining what each BUTTON on the iOS version does and how new troops are acquired, upgraded etc…. Basically a manual? Thanks in advance:-)

Great Game!
Great game! Loads of fun. 2 requests would be to make the unit editor save the data. Anytime I tweak a unit from the unit list it loses the changes whenever I close out the game. Also from the unit purchase screen it is very hard to click the upgrades for units such as torpedoes/rockets for aircraft. The UI is so small. Could be bigger…for instance we don’t need 6 items across the screen to select from. Would suggest reducing to 4 and making bigger. My only two requests! Besides this FANTASTIC game…did I already say that?

Wonderful game!
I posted a review on Sunday saying the game didn’t work and was crashing constantly. So I decided to restart my device and now it’s running perfectly again!

For anybody wanting an amazing tactical/strategic ww2 game with over 2000 units I absolutely recommend this game it is the most fun strategy game I’ve ever played. And it runs on mobile!
