This hidden expedition is full of dering-do and adventure
So, I'm loving the game with one exception (no map?!), and I'm just through the trial...but wanted to give you all my thoughts before the sale price goes away tomorrow.
Update: after the trial, you *do* get a map. Bit I'm knocking off one star for a couple of issues: 1) some of the HOPs were dark and there was no zoom, 2) two of the minigames didn't have resets, 3) many of the minigames were really really easy, and 4) the game really wasn't very long. But I do recommend it...if it could get 4.5 stars, that's what I'd give it.

We're off like Carmen Sandiego on a world tour to find the pieces of the crown of King Solomon. A nice refreshing change of scenery!
Lots of action-packed cut scenes. Labelled inventory, hint buttons and (in lieu of the map, I suppose), a compass button that assists you with active sites on the page as well as other scenes you can go to. Fun and different HOPs, some good minigames, a storyline that as of now seems to be solid, and very little back and forth.
I think we have a winner here. I am going to take the plunge and buy. I'll be back with an update...

Crown Yourself Ruler of Detectives!
Eipix has a real winner with Hidden Expeditions: Crown of Solomon! All the desirable bells and whistles are there, such as responsive Hint and Skip buttons, a well labeled Inventory, and your own little cell phone to speak to the boss and keep Info cards. The Compass notifies you of possible moves. I always enjoy Special hidden items, which are crowns in this case. There are Morphing Items, too, as well as trophies to collect. You are on a plane, only to discover that one of the pilots is a traitor! Sounds just like something from the headlines! He was smuggling Egyptian relics, and now you are on his trail, which includes discovering murders. The Hidden Object scenes are well lit and normal. Codes and clues are usually easily available and function well. No silly multiple tapping! Extra fun includes things like discs to put into office computers that you find along the way. So far, no stupid backtracking. For example, when the cabbie says, "Where to?", you just hand an address card to him and travel away! I would recommend this to any avid gamer. No real frights have appeared thus far, and I am having fun!

We love Eipix! Another winner! Tons of locations and beautiful scenery, a good story, not glitchy, instantaneous load between locations. Morphing objects only in HO scenes, which were varied, so as not to be a distraction. Collect crowns and fact cards, which I didn't mind because usually I hate collectibles. Plus items, labeled inventory, good teleport map! I don't know why some people didn't have a map! Good mini-games and puzzles. Bonus chapter. And NO RATS!
My only complaint was that I wish it had been twice as long! Want a sequel ASAP!
I love Eipix, Artifex Mundi, and Mad Head games. They are better games, and leave ERS looking like amateurs! So BigFish, stick with them and you will get a lot of paying customers!

Solomon, I crown thee...Best Game Ever!!
For some time, I have searched for the perfect game with stunning graphics, music and a good story, not to mention no creepy or dark things. This, is it. The whole story is epic. You are an agent for H.E.L.P (hidden expedition league of preservation) heading home after getting back stolen artifacts when you get a call from your partner. Of the two pilots, one is an imposter. You find out who and are almost killed, but by using an umbrella, you hook the parachute and land safely. And this is just the beginning. The bonus game is so neat! A ghost town in Montana, an old archive... And the fact cards are neat, I never anything about Robert the Bruce instill I found one of the cards. This has got to be the best series of games ever. If I could give this more stars, I would give it one billion. I would love it if they made one about pirates.

Playing a lot of older but carefully reviewed games and this one has potential to be a good/great one! Demo was fun and interesting like Eipix of old was known for. K i n d a on the short side though so hopefully the full version will be longer (fingers crossed). Since this is a new review of an older game I’m pretending I didn’t read any other reviews already saying it was a bit short as far as total gameplay time-from the old school, no pulled punches, been there done that, tell it like it is-review teammates. ie: Linx Minx, Opinion, KDB etal.
**Off point…but thanks to you listed above and others on giving facts with a small bit of personal opinion in your reviews that help someone like me to judge and decide for myself on what’s what as far as gameplay and mechanics goes.
You know he doesn’t like vampires I hate crime stories. That is ALL personal preference.
But, I digress.**
I hope and pretty sure, long or short, the rest of the game will be fantastic.

Hidden Expedition A Hidden Jem
THERE IS A MAP you just don't get it till after the trial when you purchase game. Great story amazing graphics and voice overs inventory items labeled great multiple part HOS with morphing objects in them. You are collecting crowns and info cards in this one has teleporting Map and BF guide I almost lost out on this game because I wasn't going to purchase at first as I thought there was no map but decided to give it a try so glad I did so if you are playing the trial and waiting to find the map you will not you don't get the map till after you unlock full game

Fun game but buggy
This is the second Hidden Expedition game that I've purchased and played to the end. I had more technical issues with this one as well as some design complaints. The worst thing was that the game frequently crashed on me. I play on an iPad mini, I don't know if that makes any difference. My other complaint is with the HO games. They are too dark, and sometimes the objects are shown in silhouette, but the object itself actually looks quite different. The guide was not very helpful either. I was drowning in the catacombs and the guide was no help getting out of there. I only got out by luck. I still don't know what I did to drain the water. Still, it was kind of fun and I got a discount on the price so I feel okay about it.

Unique and exciting
It's been awhile since I've played a game with a totally different feel. So many of the games are like clones of each other. This one had my interest from the get go. The visuals are stunning and full of great special effects. The voice overs and sound are very realistic. You are taken on this wild adventure and you feel like you really are there. It's almost like Indiana Jones. The puzzles are unique and move quickly so the adventure doesn't bog down. I highly recommend this game.

Unfortunately it seems Big Fish has fallen into a deep rut. I’ve purchased dozens of these games and there’s just no improvement on the play, it feels like it’s the same game with a different wrapping.
My biggest complaints about Big Fish HO games are:
- As I’ve said, there’s nothing new, the games play exactly the same as previous titles. I wouldn’t be even a little surprised to find that they had the same engine with just a different front end.
- They don’t put a hint option on the puzzles. I don’t mean the hidden object puzzles, rather the other ones where you have to figure out a configuration of something, or solve some other type of puzzle. You can skip, but there’s no hint. So it’s either all or nothing.
- How about a switch up in the antagonist? The character we’re playing is almost always a middle aged woman. When it’s not, then it’s a young woman. I am very curious about this. There was a time when every main character was a man, but Big Fish has flipped it to exclude men from the playable character. Kind of odd.

Had to delete & reload for 1st time ever
Been playing these games for 3 years now, probably played 100+ different games. I've NEVER had to delete and reload one, until this one. Froze at beginning of chap. 4 in first room of catacombs. Was a beautiful, engrossing, interesting, fun game until then. Would love to give you 5 stars because of all the obvious work you put into it, but your technical issues drove the rating WAY down. Shame on you Big Fish for releasing this game-could tell from the forums you KNEW there were problems. Lots of problems. Eipix is usually a top notch developer, but this one needs to go in the shop!
