Kimmielou3,
Long waits, but good seek and find
I was looking for a good find the object game and this definitely is good at that. Not a detective game really other than it being the theme or plot behind going to different places.
I like that as you earn more stars on a level, additional objects are added to the scene. Some scenes are pretty dark and there's a good chance that you'll never find an object if you keep your screen dimmed. I've made a habit of turning my brightness up while I play. I think that the refresh rate on energy vs the cost per round is too slow. Other gripe is that sometimes there's a lag after tapping an object so I think my tap wasn't registered so I tap again only to get penalized for not clicking a valid object. Hint: it's better to take a little longer to find things than it is to tap a wrong spot.
Other tips that maybe I missed in the tutorial, but you can stretch zoom in on scenes and if you tap and hold the name of the object you're looking for, it'll give you the outline and eventually show you the whole colored object image.
EasterEasySundae,
Detective, huh?
Honestly, I've watched my fair share of detective shows, and this is nothing like that. Sure, you can go to crime scenes and such, but who wants to look for things you don't really need? We should be dusting for fingerprints and doing blood samples, not waiting for 'Detective David' to do all the forensics for me. What if I like doing the forensics? And to add, what is the deal with the stars and lightning bolts and gems? What are they meant for other than to make you really annoyed that you can't investigate a crime scene without getting stars or gems from another crime scene that your not allowed to go back to? It's confusing and annoying, and you really don't get the true detective. Who puts someone under arrest for murder without a confession? To top it all off, this is not a true detective game. It might have four and a half stars, but I really don't like it. I'm sorry I have to be this way, but forensics is kind of my thing. I know what real detectives do, and this is not it.

This was a disappointment. You might have a blast at it, but I personally (and yes I'll be honest) do not have the patience to wait for my forensics report to come back. I WANT to do the forensics myself. It was just be more engaging.
Amelia-a,
Love, but quick sessions not enough energy
Please read at least last sentence!
You won't live out your dream of becoming a crime fighter or detective. Yes you look for clues, but the game basically rules you out! It takes days/weeks to get stars which take you to other clues (pictures they give you to find) and its more of a fantasy type genre. You at least have to score over a million points for each session to reach 6-7 million for complete star, when you run out of energy you can buy more (roll eyes) or wait sometimes for days and days. Once you do finish a game, you can wait up to 4 days to let them let you start a new one, however it is fun and you do get hooked!
I decided to just spend 30 bucks on the game and still still couldn't get a star, getting very frustrated to say the least. I know there are other fun games that don't take this much time, energy, or money. Basically the game ends in less than 2 min & then u wait for more energy to spend another 2 min!
KnowNothing14,
Fun but glitches remain...
I actually like that it makes me wait to play for the energy to refill. That way it limits how much time I spend playing it. I agree that the gems should rebuild or you should be able to earn them- say 20 for a solved game or 1 for getting all hidden objects in a scene in less than say, 20 seconds. It's nice to have an energy recharge after a conquered game, but gems would be better. Every so often it "hangs" and makes you replay for a star or it starts rebooting during a challenge. That uses up your time loses a possible "win". I like that the scenes during Challenges are no longer completely random scenes but from games already played. Plus why have the Challenge start at 4AM? Do you really think I'm going to get up then just to play this game? This version is better, but still needs some work. Please make this more compatible with iOS 8.
Vida B.,
I like, but....
I didn't know about the gems until I'd used too many for the rest to matter. I don't like the fact that I've got to buy more, that they're unlike the energy which can reload on their own. Gaining stars was weird too, as I don't know how you choose how many points til the next star is needed...guess there's not much I can do about that...and why does it take so long to review items? I thought you wanted people to continue playing; if I don't have gems to speed it along and have to come back 2+ hours later, even though I receive notifications, it does not mean I'm coming back to play for 5 more minutes before I have to wait another hour for energy to load or two hours to review and item. Work on those things (and not having a 'rate me' box pop up every time I open it) and you could get 5 stars from me.

There's also too many glitches. I come back and have to replay a star, or regain a star sometimes. One scene made me use up a turn to gain points towards a star that I'd already gained.
Rach0604,
Fun game, however...
This is a fun game to play when you have 10-15 minutes between daily activities. However, of the five hidden object apps I currently play (Agent Alice, Criminal Case, Crime Scene Mystery, Hidden Artifacts, and this game), it is my second to least favorite. I didn't realize there was no way to earn additional gems without purchasing them, so I inadvertently used all my gems in the first couple of levels. Also, 30 energy points to play a scene is the most of any of the hidden object games I play. Also the amount of points required to earn a star are the highest. There are a couple of glitches too where I will have to reinterview a suspect (at least I get my star back and don't have to earn an additional star) or the clock will reset while examining a piece of evidence. But other than that, the storyline is interesting and the scenes are a good difficulty level. Also I like how there is a timer on the hints so you can use more than one per turn if needed without having to buy extra hints.
Laurie1112,
Yes But No
I like this game. The cases are interesting and the searches are challenging; however, it takes forever to get through one case. The levels are 30 energies each and at the most, I get to play like 6 times before I'm out of energy. Each stage is made of like 5 or 6 stars and once you get higher up in the stages, it takes like 12,000 points to get a star. And it's difficult to get more than 900 points each time you play a challenge. It takes me like a month to get through one case and I play all the time. I wish it only took 20 energies per challenge attempt and higher stars only took maybe 6 times to achieve a star. This game takes forever to progress through. And word to the wise- complete all the stars in each stage because later in, you don't even have access to certain stages unless you have gotten so many of the shield looking thus that you get when you complete all of the stars per stage.
NeuroPlastic Brain,
I like it....a lot!
I am a 66-year-old woman seeking freedom from a 6-year addiction to online gaming. I found this app while looking for something interesting but non-addicting to replace Klondike Solitaire, Bejeweled Blitz, Sudoku, Free Cell, Spider Solitaire, Candy Crush Saga, Angry Birds, Bubble Breaker, and even Bible Books, all of which I have played for several days at a time without getting anything else done.

THIS game can only be played about 10 minutes(160 points) at a time, that is, unless you are willing to spend money, which I am not, never have been, and never will be. The activities themselves are varied and capture my attention more than the scores do. The graphics and pictures are very, very visually appealing, which affects me greatly. The scripts are highly amusing - no small thing to a fan of NCIS, Law & Order and Big Bang Theory. In short, it is working.

I am greatly entertained, forced to stop after 10 minutes and wait at least 30 minutes, and therefore escaping from the dynamics in the brain of addiction, and my house is getting cleaner and cleaner. For my purposes, it is performing at the 5 star level. There is nothing more I can ask of it than what it is doing for me.

Thank you for listening. I hope this was helpful.

Rorowiwi,
Fun, but no more levels?
Fun and interesting game. The theme of every crime scene is very appealing and engaging and so are the characters. However, I finished level 16 over 6 months ago and have been waiting for more levels - it just says "coming soon" for level 17. My guess is that they didn't do a very good job at monetizing it, and they gave up on it. I only paid $5 the whole time playing it, which I paid because I felt bad about playing an awesome game that they obviously put a lot of work into for free. They should incorporate ads or monetize in other ways if this is the case. I would seriously be willing to pay more if they would just add more levels. Please, please, please add more levels if the company that made this game is reading this.
Thundrnlitng,
Good, BUT could be better …
I like the games and the searches,to get all of the stars there is in increasing score for each, which is fine, however the amount that it increases by, and to, is a bit out there. For example one one of the last scenes that I was playing to get the last star I needed over 17 MILLION points. Now consider that I can only play five scenes at a time until my energy runs out and even if I can get over a million points per play (good luck) it will still take me about 4 days to finish. Also, there could be an incentive for getting all stars. As it is if I have to go back to a previous scene for new clues, where I have earned all the stars, I still have to spend the maximum amount of energy. Why not have a discounted rate once all the stars have been earned? A way to earn more energy along the way would also be nice.
