A.U.S.S.I.E ,
5 Star App/Developer
Firstly, this app is severely underrated! I have literally purchased and used nearly every single TV Show tracking app that I can find in the App Store. I have used them all extensively. This app is beautifully crafted and eloquently designed. Combined with accurate real time alerts and a reliable, consistent syncing service. Most apps that I have used just simply over complicate the tracking and syncing of media which brings most basic features to a crawl. The fluidity of the animations (seamlessly bleeds into the stock software), the ease-of-use, show and episode information informatively beside the artwork, coupled with a consistent and thorough syncing process simply make this app enjoyable to use both aesthetically and functionally. This app proudly sits upon my home screen, as it is my go to media tracking app. This review is of my own personal opinion, there is no biased or influence, as I am just very thankful that the developers not only created this app but continue to maintain it. Please consider purchasing the upgrade, I chose the lifetime option and could not be more satisfied with my purchase.

* Edit: Can you please bring back the white background, like when the app first released.
Unemployed Fatty,
Great App. Shows Don’t Always Update In A Timely Manner.
I love the app and have been using it for a while mostly to keep up with when a new season of a show is coming out and when the next episode will be released. I really love the “My Shows”section that shows how many days are left until a new episode is released. It’s very helpful.

The app’s main flaw is just that some shows are not updated in a timely manner and I don’t see any way for users to manually update it. A current example is The Crowded Room on Apple TV. It has been released. Yet Hobi shows a blank poster for it and doesn’t list the episodes. It’s a bit annoying. I feel like if a show is on any of the major streaming services, then it should be updated in a timely manner. Also, sometimes the app doesn’t update release dates for shows in a timely manner. Again, I feel like if a show from a major streamer announces the release date for the next season, that should be updated within the app in a couple days, but it doesn’t always happen. So, not having things updated would be my main annoyance with the app.

Also, the app does sink to Trakt, which is a great feature, however, recently I have had some issues with that. However, I suspect that Trakt is the one to blame and not Hobi.

Best Now
I had a bunch of tracking apps connected to Trakt and issues starting popping up all over. Couldn’t add shows. Was locked out for no reason and still cannot get back in, as a paid VIP user. Shows wouldn’t pop up when they aired. Not all new shows would even appear, until months after airing, if at all. Dumped all of them for this app. Right now, this is the best tracking app out there. Truly hoping it stays as good as it is now, as I truly need to keep track of everything I watch and want to watch in the future. I hope they keep this app going.

THERE IS NO SUPORT RESPONSE - of course I just paid for lifetime premium upgrade
For years, I used the iTV Shows app until issues with shows suddenly only listing by their UK or Canadian air times, and I live in the US Pacific Time Zone. They never responded to my emails so I stopped using the app and started trying Hobi.

Hobi started out smooth enough that I felt good about purchasing the lifetime premium service. Now I’ve been having similar issues with Hobi. When a show is airing at 10pm ET, I receive a notification that it is starting at 7pm PT. Both iTV and Hobi sync with Trakt, but I have checked the Trakt site and the listings/notifications appear to b accurate to my region and time zone. A close 2nd place as the most frustrating thing that Hobi shares in common with iTV Shows is the complete lack of access to any level customer support or response. Hobi uses a ticketing system that always responses that I don’t have access. I’ve tried multiple times, set up multiple accounts, and after clicking submit, I get the error message. And I have not been able to find another way to reach them.

Great App, Little Support
As a TV tracking/watchlist app I haven’t found anything better. Visually it’s great, and it’s very intuitive in terms of how it tracks your shows. I wish it also included movies so I could use it for everything, but I use Sofa Time for movies in the meantime.

My issue is with support. I purchased premium and after purchase you’re given a support email address. I have a show the app can’t find so I emailed and also asked if adding movies was ever a consideration. No response, and it’s been a while. I tried to register on the freshdesk help/support forum and it doesn’t work. You can register and get a “successfully registered” message but aren’t given the option to create a password and are unable to login after registering. If you try to “forgot password” you get a “you are not authorized to access this portal” error message.

So, great app, buy it, but if you have issues you’re likely on your own.
MindWhisper,
App needs to be organized into categories like; Watching, Want to Watch, Complete, On Hold, Dropped
This is a great app. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the “My Shows” section of the app does not let you remove shows that you are no longer watching. I want to keep an inventory of all the shows I’ve watched, even a record of the shows I’ve dropped, but at the same time if I have dropped a show I don’t want it to keep on appearing in my list. Two examples of long running shows I’d dropped that are still running are “Law & Order: SVU” and “Supernatural”. I dropped both shows awhile back yet annoyingly they still appear on my list.

Anime apps like Kitsu and iMAL, which are used for the same purpose as Hobi, intelligently includes a feature that allows you to categorize your shows. These categories include:

Watching
Want to Watch
Complete
On Hold
Dropped

I assume the categories are self explanatory. Hobi desperately needs a system like this to make the list more organized and less cluttered. This way you can focus on what you are truly watching and everything else can be tucked away in a place where they aren’t constantly in your face, but at the same time you can find them again if you need them.

If this app had these features it would definitely be 5⭐️
Clark-B,
Great, but missing a couple of key features
Hobi is a great app and the best of its kind that I’ve used. It has a fantastic GUI and great UX! I love the colors! My only gripe is that it’s missing two key features. First, I wish there were a way to sort by User Rating. I use the User Rating feature to rate my shows and would like to sort them by those ratings. Second, Hobi is in desperate need of a search/filter so that you can search and filter your shows by things like ‘title’. If you have 100 or more shows in your list finding a specific show can take LOT of scrolling! Aside from that, Hobi is excellent! I use it all the time and even purchased the app to support the developer. It’s well worth the price IMHO!
'Ru,
Doesn't always sync correct episodes to Trakt
Seems like a good app, but doesn't always sync the correct episodes from Trakt. Archer season 3, for example: Trakt reports that there are 10 episodes and that I've watched all of them, and Heart of Archness parts 1-3 are listed as specials that I haven't watched (which is correct). Hobi thinks that Heart of Archness 1-3 are episodes 1-3 of season 3 , and thinks that I've watched those but not the last 3 episodes of season 3. Hobi clearly knows that I've watched 10 episodes of season 3, but not the right ones. I'm assuming that it's just going by episode number and doesn't look at the episode name at all? This seems like a really nice app, but since I also use the Trakt website directly, I'm a little worried about accuracy when going back and forth between the two.
DCFads,
NO LONGER SUPPORTED
Updating earlier review:
Now 10 months since last update. App is apparently no longer supported and done. If anyone associated with this app is still seeing this, they need to respond. Otherwise why should we continue to bother?

I have really enjoyed this app over the last couple of years. Recently, however, it has begun to crash so frequently with a “Houston we have a problem“ error. App hasn’t been updated for nine months. As another reviewer commented, appears to no longer be supported. Any clarification by developer is appreciated. Don’t wish to move to another platform
Moconnor2k,
Tedious
Downloaded this to my iPad. Had to start by selecting three programs from among several they listed, none of which interested me, but my opinion did not matter. I had to choose three. Did so, and was then led through several screens where I had to set up a profile. Finally got to the point where I could begin loading data to actually make the app useful for me.
At that point I stopped to also put it on my iPhone and found that in order to have it on the second device, I had to go through the identical process. There is no screen that allows you to sign in if you have already set up an account.
If this is a forewarning of actually using the app, I am not hopeful it will be worth the effort.
