Description

Homeorep is an advanced and flexible homeopathic software for the repertorisation of symptoms. It has been developed for the demanding homeopaths who need a tool capable of helping them solve the ever different clinical cases encountered in daily practice. The symptoms can be repertorised according to the so called Boenninghausen's Method (with polarities and contraindications). The original Therapeutic Pocket Book is the core of the database. It can be edited. Users can enrich it by the addition of their own rubrics, define their own list of active remedies and even build up their own repertory. A patient record system allows clinical data and repertorisations to be saved for each consultation.

DATABASES

There are 4 tables of rubrics:
• Boenninghausen's THERAPEUTISCHES TASCHENBUCH (original german 1846)
• Boenninghausen's THERAPEUTIC POCKETBOOK (english translation 1847, entirely revised and corrected)
• Boenninghausen's MANUEL DE THERAPEUTIQUE HOMEOPATHIQUE (french new translation by Michel Ramillon © 2013-2021)
=> It is the same repertory of rubrics in 3 different languages. “The Sides of the Body and Drug Affinities 1853” also by C. von Boenninghausen was appended.
• PERSO is an initially empty table where users can build up a hierarchy of rubrics in the form BOOKS > CHAPTERS > RUBRICS > REMEDIES. Overtime each user will incorporate their own rubrics which they deem helpful to their personal practise.

There are 3 built-in lists of remedies:
• Boenninghausen (125 remedies)
• Hering (421 remedies)
• Extended (800+ remedies).
=> If one of these lists is defined as active, repertorisations will take into account only the remedies of this list. Each list is editable. They can be restored to their original state if necessary.

BOENNINGHAUSEN’S METHOD

• Boenninghausen’s method is actually Samuel Hahnemann’s inductive method carried to its highest point.
• The recomposition of a complete symptom through the combination of only 3 rubrics: Localisation + Sensation + Modality, gives already a first selection of possibly indicated remedies as a consequence of the underlying probabilistic structure of this unique repertory, which was ahead of its time and is still modern nowadays where the theory of probabilities and statistics has invaded almost all fields of sciences. Adding more (well selected) rubrics points out with increasing precision to the remedies which are the most likely indicated.

REPERTORISATION

• For each selection of rubrics Homeorep computes and sorts the remedy-columns of the evaluation grid according to a customizable sequence of priorities including: Grand Total, Number of Hits, Sum of Grades, Difference of Polarities.
• The repertorisation does not discriminate between rubrics coming from the TPB or the Perso tables. All rubrics selected by users are listed in the Selection page where they can be managed indifferently (eliminatory rubrics, polar status, combination of rubrics, etc.) before displaying the result of the repertorisation in the Evaluation page. After combining (merging or crossing) several rubrics in the Selection page, the combined rubric can easily be copied and pasted into the Perso table.

PATIENTS

• A Patient Data Management System enables to save personal and clinical data for each consultation, including case taking, prescriptions and repertorisations. For each consultation several repertorisations can be saved. Each repertorisation includes the list of selected rubrics and/or an image of the evaluation grid. A saved list of rubrics can be at any time called back to the Selection page where it can be modified.

Using Homeorep for self-medication cannot be an alternative to the diagnosis and treatment provided by a registered Heath Care Professional. The developer of Homeorep disclaims all responsibility for all consequences of any person using Homeorep as a medical tool.

• The list of selected rubrics (page Selection) is preserved when the user closes voluntarily the interface of the App or when the App, which still lies in the background, is terminated by the iOS system.
• In the Search page searching begins after typing 2 (previously 3) adjacent characters in the search bar.

1. iCLOUD: SYNCHRONIZATION OF YOUR DATA BETWEEN ALL YOUR iOS DEVICES

• Automatic synchronisation of the patient's data. The identity, consultations and repertorisations data are securely uploaded from your iOS devices (e.g. your iPhone and your iPad) to your iCloud account and synchronised. This enables you to work on any of your devices where you will find the same data. If you make a fresh install of the App on a new iOS device, these data will be retrieved from the cloud and made available to this device. After installation on a second device (device 2), you may encounter at first duplicate entries with the same patient's name in the synchronized list of patients. Just drag down once the list of patients on device 2 to merge data and remove duplicates. You will thereafter find all your consultations and repertorisations under a unique patient name. The repertorisation lists of rubrics are shared between your devices, but the repertorisation images, which are heavier files, remain on the device where they were created.

• Automatic synchronization of your remedy lists between all your iOS devices. You always work with the same lists of remedies whatever personal iOS device you chose to work with. Installation of the App on a second iOS device (device 2) creates duplicate remedy entries in all 3 lists of remedies. Just drag down once each list of remedies on device 2 to merge data and remove duplicates.

• Automatic synchronization of your Perso database between all your iOS devices. The books with their chapters, rubrics and remedies, that you have manually added one by one into your Perso database, will be uploaded to your personal iCloud account and made available to all your iOS devices. After installation of the App on a second device it may be necessary to drag down the BOOKS page once to merge the books as several entries with the same name may appear. After a change on device 1, it may be necessary to drag down the SEARCH page on device 2 to update the list of rubrics. When on page BOOKS this update is automatic and after returning to the SEARCH page dragging down is not necessary.

• Requirements of synchronisation feature:
- iOS 13 or later installed on device 1 and 2.
- Each device must be signed in to your personal Apple account. This ensures that your data are secured and available to you only.
- A connection to the internet from your internet provider.
- Please note that synchronization of your data between several devices can take 1 minute or more since these data need be conveyed by internet and processed by Apple servers. It also depends on the speed of your internet connection.

• For now the Boenninghausen's repertory in German (TTB), in English (TPB) and in French (MTH) is not synchronised.

2. DEFINING THE POLAR CHARACTER OF ANY PAIR OF RUBRICS

• In the Perso database it is now possible to set a polar status to any pair of rubrics. In Edit mode swipe from left to right the line corresponding to a rubric then tap on "Pole 1", then swipe another line and tap on "Pole 2". The polarity for this pair of rubrics is set. After coming back to the Search page these two rubrics work as polar rubrics. Selecting one of them for repertorisation selects automatically the other as its counter-rubric. To remove the polar character of a pair of rubrics, swipe the line of one of them from left to right then tap on "Polarity x".

3. THERAPEUTIC POCKET BOOK

• Integration into the TPB database of the part VII: Concordances of the homeopathic remedies.

4. IMPROVEMENTS

• Miscellaneous improvements of the interface.
• Fix of a bug, very rarely appearing, occurring after a Touch on the "Scroll To Top" arrow icon on the Search page when editing the Perso database when it is empty.
3.1
2019-12-24
• DARK MODE (for devices running iOS 13). In dark mode the visuals of the pages were fixed and optimized. The evaluation grid especially was redesigned for an efficient and aesthetically pleasurable user's experience.
• In the evaluation grid the grades of two vertically adjacent cells, when corresponding to a rubric/counter-rubric duo, are now visually signalised for contraindicated remedies. Cells with white text and gray background in light mode, round cells in dark mode.
• New contraindication modes added.
• Several minor improvements.
• Fix of a bug which might appear after the modification of a list of remedies or after a change of list.

With this version 3.0 Homeorep makes a great leap forward !

• The Boenninghausen's Therapeutic Pocket Book (TPB) is now entirely editable ! As user of Homeorep you can rename, create or delete parts, chapters and rubrics. The grades of the remedies can be changed in every rubric. You can add remedies from a large built-in list of 554 remedies compared to the 125 original remedies. You can even enrich that list with your own remedies.
• There are 3 built-in lists of remedies: Boenninghausen (125), Hering (421) and Extended (554). You choose which list you want to work with and only the remedies of this list will be used for repertorising. Each list can be edited.
• You can over time build up your personal repertory named "Perso" by creating a hierarchy of chapters and rubrics tailored to your needs in clinical practice. It can for instance receive rubrics taken from the public domain homeopathic literature and your own clinical experience. The copy/paste function is available to record quickly an entire rubric coming from the TPB or from the "Selection" page. Copy: slide row to the right; paste: to the left.

• The "Selection" page can handle simultaneously and without discrimination rubrics coming from the 4 tables of rubrics of the database: the english, german and french versions of the Therapeutic Pocket Book and the initially empty "Perso" table.
• For each registered consultation of a patient you can now save several repertorisations, each one as a list of rubrics and/or an image of the evaluation grid. Each saved list of rubrics can be sent back to the "Selection" page at any time to be modified, then displayed in the "Evaluation" page.
• You can enter text in the search bar of the "Search" page without bothering with accented vowels (french and German).
• Minor changes in the translations from German to English and French.
2.1
2019-04-27
- "Search" page: the syntax of the text input in the search bar "Search for rubrics" can be more sophisticated using combinations of logical operators OR and AND. While a simple search like: "stitch muscles" is still correct meaning "stitch AND muscles", searches can be more complex like: "stitch, stick, prick muscles, bones" meaning "(stitch OR stick OR prick) AND (muscles OR bones). Moreover the "_" (underscore) character can be used as in the example term "as_if" where it stands for a space character.
- "Search" page: the return to the full list of rubrics is now almost instant when the text in the search bar is removed, making the use of Homeorep even more fluid.
- "Evaluation" page: a little search bar has been inserted in the upper left corner of the evaluation grid, which allows users to locate easily the remedy they have in mind.
- "Patients" page: the process of saving an image of the repertorisation chart was made clearer.
- We have checked that the personal and clinical data previously collected from patients and saved with Homeorep are preserved when updating from version 2.0 to 2.1 . Do NOT delete Version 2.0 prior to the installation of version 2.1 !

- Homeorep 2.0 is a major version with an additional fifth icon "Patients" in the main toolbar located at the bottom of the screen. This icon allows users to reach several pages designed to organise and store personal and clinical data gathered from patients. After adding a patient into the database you can register consultations for them and edit text fields dedicated to the input of data. A repertorisation chart can also be stored for each consultation. From each consultation the patient’s personal details can be readily edited.

- In the previous releases of Homeorep the left column of the repertorisation chart (page "Evaluation"), where are listed the names of the selected rubrics, was stuck to the other columns (remedy-columns) of the grid and would come off the visible screen when scrolling the grid to the left to examine remedies placed farther. In this new release this left column is frozen and the other columns glide under it when scrolling horizontally. It thus provides users with considerable comfort when examining the results of repertorisations.

- On the "Selection" page there are 4 new functionalities which allow users to manage with more precision their collection of selected rubrics. Theses new features are:
1. The setting of eliminating rubrics. It is possible for each individual rubric to select the set of grades which are to be eliminating: 1234, 234, 34 or 4.
2. The combination of rubrics: merging. A new set of remedies is created, which encompasses all remedies appearing at least in one rubric. For each remedy the highest grade is retained.
3. The combination of rubrics: crossing. A new set of remedies is created, which encompasses remedies appearing in all rubrics. For each remedy the lowest grade is retained.
4. A rubric created by combination is named “New combined rubric” by default. This rubric can be renamed according to user’s choice.

Version 1.2
- The translation into english of the original german rubrics has been entirely revised. This translation follows the original arrangement of the 1846 german edition without merging rubrics or other alterations. Many rubrics are provided with additional text in square brackets to shed light on their meaning and scope, also to help find them when searching with the database search engine.
- The book “The Drug Affinities 1853” by Clemens von Boenninghausen was incorporated into the database.
- The 4 evaluation lines (Grand Total, Number of Hits, Sum of Grades, Difference of Polarities) of the Evaluation Grid are now fully customisable. Select which lines you want to appear in the grid and in which order: it defines the succession of criteria with which the columns (each column representing a remedy) are sorted. If none is selected, they are sorted in the alphabetical order.
- There is now a general view of the repertory which can be browsed according to its Parts, Chapters and Rubrics. This will be especially useful for users who cannot find the rubric they are looking for using the database search engine. Moreover it provides students of Homeopathy with the means to become more familiarised with Boenninghausen’s repertory.
- Improvement of the visibility of the contraindicated remedies in the Evaluation Grid. Text's colour is now white and background's colour is scaled between light gray and black according to the number of contraindications.
- For the convenience of a quick selection of rubrics: after typing some text in the search bar and selecting a rubric in the list of remaining rubrics, the text previously typed in the search bar is highlighted and typing new text immediately replaces it.
- Repertorisation can be done without taking into account the polar states of rubrics.
- Counter-rubrics can be hidden in the Evaluation Grid to make room when many rubrics are selected.
1.1
2017-10-07
Version 1.1

Major:
- CONTRAINDICATED REMEDIES are now shown using a gray scale background colour in the Evaluation Grid. From light to dark grey depending on which number of contraindications a remedy has for the set of selected rubrics. User can choose between 3 modes of contraindications. On the page "Selection" each polar rubric must be followed on the next line by its counter-rubric for the contraindications to be correctly taken into account.
- THE SIDES OF THE BODY 1853, by C. von Boenninghausen was incorporated into the database. It appends 40 polar rubrics to The Therapeutic Pocket Book.

Minor:
- In the search bar at the top of the "Search" page, the mathematical symbol "less than" can be used instead of "Aggravation" and the symbol "greater than" instead of "Amelioration".
- Minor issues fixes.

OrganicFlowerChild,
Very impressive app!
This is a very impressive app for homeopaths who like to use Boenninghausen’s method in their practices. Here are just some of the features that really impressed me:

Repertorization table is highly customizable. It lets you change the font sizes, the size of the table cells, etc. making it especially efficient on screen-limited mobile devices. This feature is my personal favorite component of this repertorization program, which all other homeopathic apps I’ve used are missing.
Patient database is clean and functional allowing to record information and notes on a patient, including a highly important option to save previous repertorizations and open them/modify them on demand.
Search and other functions work very well and consistently. I haven’t encountered any bugs or glitches so far.
Highly competitive price
Esthetically pleasing and highly user-friendly overall design.
