Can’t get past the sign up before it crashes. Made multiple attempts

Doesn’t work for me… why?
I had my hopes of using this app until I tried to sign up for it because all I got was a message saying “Error Failed to sign up”. There’s no obvious reason for it to fail, like a username that’s already taken, or a password that doesn’t meet certain requirements, so why wouldn’t it let me create an account? Unless this gets fixed/updated, unfortunately I can’t recommend anyone else to use this app.
