At 33, near the end of a failing marriage- my career having been ruined by my ex-wife’s team of divorce lawyers, who revealed that I had stolen numerous company pens, and she having won custody of the cat- I found Interlocked.
Was it a game about disassembling 3-D puzzle pieces, with compelling graphics accompanied by a soothing, melodic soundtrack?
Or was it a metaphor for my entire life?
For me, it was the latter. Interlocked guided me through a time in my human experience that was probably more like an earthworm’s experience, trying to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but, of course, being shrouded in vast earthy darkness- cold, silent, alone. And, also blind. And also they may not have bathrooms. They probably just go wherever. Does anyone know?
In any case, this game was engaging, challenging, and helped distract me from the infinite sea of pain that is my daily existence. For that- 5 stars. Kudos.
