Description

The best conversations happen in small private groups. Iris helps get those conversations started.

Members of a community can share a post advertising a private conversation. Other people can then ask to join that conversation and the person hosting the conversation can choose who to let in.

To obtain an account for Iris, you must be invited by your community. The community sends you a questionnaire link where you fill out information about yourself and choose what topics you want to talk about. This is then used to match you into discussion groups with people you'll enjoy talking to.

Changed how private conversations now. Now each conversation is created by a "host" who is responsible for deciding who to let into their conversation. This replaces the previous approach in which people chose topics they wanted to talk about and then we automatically matched people into private groups.

Highlights - Select the best messages from your small group conversation and make them visible to the wider community. Highlights let you argue in private about what you agree on, but then only share out the conclusion of where the discussion ended up. In the topic feed for your community you can now see the highlights for each topic, and upvote/downvote them to find the most insightful points made about that topic.

Message lengths are now limited to 350 characters, and we warn you if you try to write more than four messages in a row. This makes it less likely that one person dominates and encourages better back and forth conversation.
