kansast,
Where is support or documentation
Enjoying the app thus far. Haven’t had a chance to use it much. Wondering about the ability to dial direct extensions inside our sip network ?
Oteica,
With ios14.2 don’t wok
I love this app, but don’t work with iOS 14.2, please do something, please update, is a great app.
PhilDrenke,
Best Quality VoiP Application in the App store to date!
This VoiP application so far beats everything out there including TruPhone and Fring. I was looking for an easy to use VoiP application with voice quality and easy use being the most important factors to me. At first I was a little hesistant to spend $7 on a small app like this, but the voice quality I got in return for this is truly amazing - a clear advantage compared to Fring. And unlike TruPhone, you don't have to use their SIP Service, you can just choose whichever SIP provider you like. It was very easy to set up and dialing straight from your address book works like a charm. Compared to Fring you also don't have to wait until all your services are connected. The app takes like 3 seconds to load and you can dial right away.

The only things I personally dislike are the look of the interface. I wish it would blend in more with the iPhones native applications. Preferably I would like everything to look like the iPhones regular dialer. And setting your caller ID to your regular cell phone number would be nice. Of course making those iP calls using the 3G network would be even better, but unfortunately as we all know this is not something Apple's Mobile Phone partners would like to see which is probably one reason this is not included in any of the VoiP apps that are currently available for the iPhone.
Joe Dobish,
Very satisfied
I've been using SipPhone with Callcentric and it works very well for both inbound and outbound calls. So far this is the best SIP/VoIP application I've seen for the iPhone.

If the following could be fixed/added to the app it would be 5 stars:
1. Doesn't show caller id name on inbound calls; even though I see this is being transmitted to the app.

2. It's a little slow to open/load the App; it takes about 10 seconds on my iPhone 3G. Would be great if it opened in just a few seconds.

3. It would be great if it supported the G.729 (lower bandwidth) codec; although I think this might be a licensing issue.

4. Call waiting. Currently you can only receive 1 inbound call at a time.

5. The voicemail waiting indicator (and access to voicemail) could be a little easier to use.

6. The voicemail waiting indicator won't update unless you close and re-open the app; when this does work on other soft/hard phones I've tried.

While the above would be nice to get fixed, overall I have no real complaints. Thanks for the great app.
1carsales,
Works with m***** jack
Got my sip credentials from my mj and it works beautifully with any wifi connection. The dev team was awesome at answering my technical questions. Btw, this is the 1st app I ever paid for and it was well worth my $$$.

I've seen a lot of reviews on various sip phones. Many negative comments are by those unfamiliar that in most cases you will have to hack your credentials out of whatever sip phone service you use. For security reasons most sip providers will not disclose login credentials with their clients. I highly recommend this app. Aside from the asthetics, it performs as advertised and my phone bill has went down substantially. However, before buying, Get your SIP credentials 1st. Try a few google searches for "SIP hack --------service provider name here-----" I did and haven't looked back since. Thanks again to this apps developer. -ray
maxi123,
This app works but you need to configure it properly
I downloaded iSip and it didn't work properly; Audio was so choppy that it couldn't be used (even on the same network than our Asterisk Server). Also under some conditions and I only got one way audio. I spent a complete day doing several adjustments and debugging the protocol to check what was happening. The application is now working fine (audio is good; Not excellent, but good enough). If you are planning to use this application; You must have really good understanding of VOIP and what is happening under the hood. For example; I am not a big fan of iSIP VAD implementation, I had to turn it off. Remember to set the stun servers if you are planning to use it behind a NAT; there are a few free stun servers on the internet. PUSH did work OK to me; although I can't answer the call when receiving the notification. IMHO there is room for improvement on this app. Buy it *ONLY* if you really know SIP protocol and you are willing to spend some time to configure/debug it to make it work correctly on your enviroment.

*** Please add g729 support ***
HoyttGringo,
It works great!
I have used it for a couple of weeks.
I set up my Voipon (UK) account and incoming and outgoing calls work perfect in both 3G or Wifi.
When I receive a call, if the app is closed, I will receive a Push Notification, allowing me to take the call. Even when I am in the street connected by 3G. THAT IS GREAT!
Support have answered promptly to me when requesting some information about the acc config. Some times, when 3G is not very good the quality of the voice decrease. (It's logic). The Developer needs to keep working on the UI (I think is very poor) and also the ring tones options. Other than that, for the moment the best Voip App I have tried.
Jay Tee Tee,
CRASHES!
Just bought this app hoping it would work which most reviews state it does. Installed it and within 2 seconds after enabling SIP it crashes. Rebooted the phone and app still crashes. Restored phone and app still crashes. Deleted app, reinstalled it, set it up again.... crashes! No matter what I do... app CRASHES! As you can see in this review... the keyword is CRASHES. This is the first app I have purchases which CRASHES all the time.

Update: As soon as I wrote the previous review, I contacted support about these crash issues. Within 15 minutes they replied, troubleshooted my issue, and within 2 hours later support emailed me a personal beta version of this program that fixed my issue. I have increased their rating from 1 start to 3. The crash issues for fixed, support was great, but I feel the overall product still needs to be improved to receive a higher rating.
SteveSomeone,
AVOID THIS APP: It Simply doesn't work
I used iSip in the past, but switched to Acrobits Softphone, which performed much better. With the latest update to iSip, I figured I’d give it another chance. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The program not only removes Google Voice integration, but much more significantly, it fails to connect to many SIP accounts -- sip accounts that work perfectly with other VoIP applications running on the iPhone. Even activating iSip's built-in SIP account works only partially. The account is registered by the application crashes almost immediately.

Additionally, the user-interface is so poorly designed that it renders simply operations virtually impossible to accomplish. It's hard to design an application worse than this one!!!

In short, my opinion is that iSip is a total waste of money. STAY AWAYS FROM THIS APPLICATION until the developers fix the acute problems that render the application useless (at least on my iPhone).
hamlet505a,
almost there
I bought this app to connect to our Asterisk server through WiFi and VPN. WiFi works great. However, VPN needs some work. It does connect up pretty easily to asterisk, however, I haven't been able to figure out how to listen to voicemail properly. It lets me know how many messages I have, but in order to listen to voicemail, I have to dial a separate number. But the really important thing that I'm disappointed in is its inoperability with the L2TP/IPSEC client. It works great with the Cisco VPN Client. Unfortunately, I cannot use the Cisco client all the time due to more inoperability issues with other Vendor's VPN equipment. L2TP/IPSEC is a way I can get around this on Leopard. The iPhone connects right up with L2TP/IPSEC, but this App will crash upon startup after the L2TP/IPSec connection is established. If this is fixed, I'd give it 5 stars.
