Sherina T,
Best app ever!
The translation of idioms is wonderful, likewise the addition of pronunciations all along the conjugation screen, the addition of the infinitive, gerund, and past participle forms of the verb on the conjugation screen, the addition of the globe so you can see how the word is used in sentences and phrases, etc. They have even programmed requests that I have made in previous reviews. I love this app! Keep up the good work!! Actually, speaking of user requests, how about the ability to move words up and down the favorites list (so I can keep similar words together, like perché, perciò, quindi).
Suzie/USA,
My “go-to” for quick reference!
I have used this Italian/English dictionary app for many years and it has helped me on nearly every occasion for ordinary conversational language used in text messages, etc.
When we traveled in Italy, it was likewise helpful for unusual and unfamiliar vocabulary not used in everyday situations.
It is very user-friendly, and I like that it gives not only definitions and gender, etc., but also lists examples of common usage or alternative choices for words that may be used in different contexts.
I highly recommend this app!
cjfirenze,
Literally the best Italian-English dictionary available
Literally the best Italian- English dictionary available. Been using it for over ten years. Paid 10 euro for it on my first phone and it transferred over to my new one without a problem.
Type in either language and it translates instantly. No switching needed. And it’s fast, and offline. No internet needed. Pronunciation everywhere on the app. Just tap a word or phrase. There are dozens of features that I’ve never even used.
Love it. Thank you for developing and maintaining this app.
Rosa Cucina,
My Most Indispensable App
This fantastic app does it all— dictionary, translation and complete verb conjugations, plus great tools for study and review. It even includes colloquialisms and informalities used in everyday conversation by Italians, so it is a valuable real-world reference, as well as an academic one. I love that this app is not internet connection-dependent, so I can use it anywhere, including when I travel in Italy. This is a must-have!
Jack Aubert,
The best dictionary of al
This is far and away the best bilingual dictionary I have ever found including fat paper books. I’m working on Italian. I only wish that they could make other cross combinations without English. I would love to have a French Italian dictionary. My paper French Italian dictionaries are awful

The idea of scrapping separate directions and listing all the words together was a stroke of genius. Why haven’t they all done that? Also just find a verb and conjugate it!

There are obviously limits on the number of examples that can be attached to an entry but vidalingua is better than all the online dictionaries and many of the paper tomes.

If I were younger and needed a job I would try to get one with this outfit.
Jbfiacco,
Italian Dictionary is a very good app
I like it and use it. The fact that the dictionary gives good examples of usage puts the meaning in context. It also helps a lot with pronunciation.
Doctor Ricky,
Italian Dictionary
Very helpful, easy to use app - especially the verb conjugation function. Pronunciation also a nice feature.
1parsnip,
Easy & good
It has been very useful in the incontro group I go to. I find it very helpful for my pronunciation.
ClimateGuy,
Good but lacks stress accent
I like the dictionary, but it would be nice if the Italian entries included a marking for stress accents. With Italian words I often don’t know where the stress accent is, and I have to look it up somewhere else.
Jay Argyle,
Review needs more words. Otherwise very good
Great. App. Only shortcoming is that it needs more words.
