Better sensitivity in low light.
More accurate laser detection.
This version adds the in-app purchase of QuickDraw.
You can download the target image from here:
https://www.itargetpro.com/pages/quickdraw
QuickDraw will let you test your speed and accuracy at drawing and shooting.
This update also allows the use of the silhouette target overlay for Bullseye.

iTarget Pro now has a ballistic offset feature. If your sights have been zeroed for the range to account for bullet drop or wind, or if the laser isn't hitting where your sights are aligned, you can now zero the app to match your sights. Align the target Overlay as usual, then, in settings, choose ballistic offset. Set your sights on the center of the target and shoot the laser. Ignore where the laser actually hits, keep your sights centered on the bullseye. The app will take an average of the last 5 shots. When you go back to start training, the app will now offset where the holes appear from where the laser actually hits. This new feature will solve any inaccuracy with lasers and actual ballistics. This update also fixes the iphone going to sleep during training.

rubycherokee,
Decent training aid, but needs work
Bought the setup a couple of months ago and by and large it works pretty well. It registers the hits and you get instant feedback, which is positive. On the negative side, trying to stop false hits is a challenge at best. Often I have to place the target holder in a dark corner of the room. Have a adjusted the sensitivity settings numerous ways with moderate success. Just when I think I have it set, false shots start to register. Finally, there is a feature that allows you to save the target image to your photos. This only works about half of the time. That is a pain because you lose a target and you cannot analyze you shots. That said, the app is free and the expectation should be commensurate.
MikeTrifi,
Great system for the money
I heard about this system on a podcast so I checked it out. Looked like it would work and was substantially less expensive than the high end trainers. Got it today and spent a few hours with it. Although it’s not perfect, I doubt it can be beat for the cost which is why I’m giving it 5 stars. In my living room, there are 6 can lights and the target reflects those pretty easily so I had a few tries to get the settings right to stop the fake hits, however, I was able to adjust it out and spent an hour or so working with it. My groups weren’t bad to start but in that short time, I was able to really separate trigger movement from barrel movement and improve. I moved it to a few rooms with other types of lights and had no fake hit problems, so I’m fairly certain the bright spot directly under one of the can lights was the reason for my initial adjustment needs and would likely be a worst case scenario. The adjustments for my iPhone 6 in the cradle were also not perfect but did work with a little fine tuning. Also, with a little tinkering to get the wires to get to the phone, I think I can hook my phone via HDMI and put the screen up on the TV so that I can see the display from far away. This will make a great training tool for the off season and I like it so much I just bought one for my father for Christmas.
Yoyophd,
Works really well
So I just got the set up yesterday and messed around with it for an hour. I started in the living room with relatively low light since my wife was watching tv. No real issues with false readings. Main issue with accuracy was due to movement on my part when depressing the trigger. It actually was nice to visually see how much movement I had when firing. After a few shots I was seeing less and less movement of the laser and more accurate readings. After a few minutes my wife wanted to try it out but she wanted more light on so she could see the target rings more clearly. I turned on the overhead fan light and started getting false readings from the reflection on the target. After maybe 2 min tops of adjustments, it was working perfectly again. Only issue then was after I pushed the start button my shadow went over the target and I got a false reading. I just needed to watch where my shadow was as I backed away. Having a 5 sec starter delay for you to get into position would solve that issue. Overall I give it 5 stars. It was fun, informative, and easy to troubleshoot when the lighting changed and false readings showed up. An app like this will require some fine tuning on the user end before it works perfectly so I would recommend this system to everyone. Thanks.
ktothelub,
Works Great just need to properly set up.
I was actually having the same issues when I first got it a lot post on here.. shots not registering, issues with lighting conditions, ghost shots registering. This is the response I received and if you follow these steps you will have no issues. Main thing being to zoom in on target so the only thing in the picture is the target!

From Developer -

1) Make sure the phone camera is not seeing off of the target plate and is only seeing the target image. Anything in the background could be interfering with the shot detection.

2) Make sure the light on the target plate is an even light. No bright areas and shadows on the target plate at the same time. Make sure the room has normal lighting and is not too dark. Don't use it directly under overhead lights.

3) Make sure there is no reddish light illuminating the target. The app responds to the color red.

4) Press the wrench image to go to settings. This is the main screen for adjusting the sensitivity. If you see any white showing up here, that area is being detected as a hit and your laser won't be. Raise or lower the sensitivity to eliminate any white. Ideally, you want to raise the sensitivity as much as possible without introducing the white noise. Take the laser in your hand and shine it at the target plate.
The laser should show up as a white hit and everything else should be black.

After I adjusted these things, zero issues.
PlinkerSS,
Nice system
I have used my system several times now. The laser cartridge works perfectly, the sled/base only needing a phone holder with more adjustment to be perfect as well. My 8+ fits without its case but not with, I actually have a phone (selfie) holder I’m using instead of the base.
As for the app, it took a few minutes to get the settings where I needed, as well as the indoor lighting. Definitely don’t have it under direct light or it will start scoring based on that. So take a few mins to get it set correctly and it should be fine.
But once i had the settings and surroundings set, the rest went as expected. With the high cost and low availability of ammo (and limited range access at times) this system will pay for itself soon enough. And it can be fun to get back to practicing, including being able to work on more than ranges often allow.
So for now i’d give it 4 stars (close to 5), for me it was definitely worth getting.
Dusty Jenson,
Love it!
I’ve had the iTarget Pro system for a couple weeks now and I’m loving it so far. As far as I know, this is the best training system of its kind. I’m already able to see an improvement in my trigger control, accuracy and confidence in my EDC. Setting the proper light sensitivity is crucial for accurate scoring but even slight lighting changes caused by moving shadows and other factors can cause false hits. Adjusting sensitivity, however, is very easy and is a non-issue. I opted to upgrade to the paid version for the Quick Draw feature. I love this! I enjoy challenging myself to get faster and more accurate. After each shot set, the app displays your cumulative score, but one feature that’s missing is an average time for each shot. Please consider adding this feature on the next update. Looking forward to seeing the High Score feature implemented as well.
KxHawj,
A fantastic dry fire training tool!
Before iTargetPro my live fire groupings were 2-3 inches (essentially tactical accuracy) at 24 feet. Two months of dry fire training with iTargetPro and now my live fire groupings are one inch or less at 24 feet. I've gained experience on trigger control, proper grip of my firearm, acquiring a sight picture, understand flash sight picture, firing from close range, acquiring sight picture with both eyes opened, and so much more. A total of 4,383 rounds of laser fire over a two month dry fire training period saved me $1739 dollars of live fire .45ACP ammunition cost.

Bottom line, could I have done the same with live fire training? Yes, but it would have cost me $1739 dollars to gain the same experience. Highly recommended product for anyone wanting to improve his or her firearm training.

Ordered this product and it arrived in mere days. Set up was super easy and worked flawlessly with iPhone 8. Spent the extra $4.99 for the QuickDraw shot timer. It works great too. Notice the number of positive reviews vs. negative. I’m not denying some folks may have been disappointed but the greater number of responses are positive and rightly so. Terrific product especially for the price point. Have used on my Sig Sauer 225A1 as well as my Sig P365. Might even give it a go with a Ruger PC9 Carbine outdoors just to see what happens. I’ll post result later. Hope I do as well when next at the range as I did using iTarget Dryfire System👍

Tripleoh,
Excellent way to practice
Iphone 7. Had some issues getting used to how it is set up, but once I figured it out it works great. Seeing some negative comments/reviews here I could say the only one which I would sympathize with is making the holes less "ragged", and smaller, perhaps, but that would not be enough to downgrade to 4 stars. Friend has a Laserlyte system he paid almost 3x as much for, and it doesn't give you a record of how you performed. If you are considering a laser system, get this one -- the whole system costs less than the Laserlyte Bullet. Sometimes you pay less and get more.
Omafuga,
Excellent system!
This system allowed me to become a better shooter for sure. It doesn’t simulate live fire and the way you react to recoil but it helps in other ways that are essential to better shooting in my opinion.

1. Improved my hand eye coordination
2. Improved my aiming
3. Improved my shot grouping
4. Taught me good trigger pull and hand control because I would always see how much the laser jolted every time I pulled the trigger
5. Taught me fast target acquisition using the “quick draw” mode.
6. Saved me bullets at the range practicing techniques I didn’t need to use live ammunition for.

Anyway just want to show my support for this app/system and I’d like to see the developer continue to make improvements to the app.

Couple of constructive suggestions I’d like to see implemented in future updates:

1. In quick draw, highlight the bullet hole that corresponds to shot # taken.
2. Be able to change the shape and/or size of the bullet mark when a shot is registered.
