Description
A tool to learn about the history and topicality of energy in the Agno Valley.
Land, water and energy have always been intertwined in the valley of the Agno river. The waters of the Agno river and its tributaries have animated the corn mills, forges, cloth fullers, sawmills, and plaster mills scattered around this area, for centuries. Additionally, waters have also played an important role for tourism thanks to the thermal springs of Recoaro.
The app guides the visitor to know historical and technical aspects of the water management system, starting from the projects of Lanificio Marzotto in the late nineteenth century and up to the present days, with the maintenance and renewal of the system by Eusebio Energia and Impianti Agno.
An over one-century long history where territory, water and energy come together.
The app can be used both in consultation mode, by reading the descriptions of the main hydroelectric plants in the Valley, and as a guide to the visit, using the map and geolocation functions. Thanks to the text reading functionalities (texts by the historian Samuele Sottoriva, taken from the book "Energia dall'acqua - Le centrali idroelettriche dell'alta Valle dell'Agno", Cierre edizioni), the app can also be used as an audio guide for the itinerary.
