johnnyappleseed001,
Very nice app! Has pace in “steps per minute” too!
I love this app. As far as I could find, it’s one of the only apps that gives you your pace in “steps per minute”. I could care less about miles per hour which is what everyone uses. I want steps per minute baby! Having the pace in steps per minute really helps me keep my pace up; I just find it more informative for my purposes. I have a standalone pedometer that I use but I need the steps per minute to help me keep my pace higher when I go for a walk‘s and this app does that for me!

I used iTreadMill when I was dieting and losing weight and wanted to make sure I kept my pace up in order to burn more calories and also to improve my aerobic conditioning. This app helped me to accomplish my goals.

Thank you very much for this app, it really helped me and I’m using it again to attain my health goals! I appreciate you and your app!
SDnowIndyoncehome,
Love this app!
This app has been perfect for me as I regain fitness. I am so thankful it's been updated - I've tried many other apps that were supposed to provide the same functionality but did not come close to the accuracy and ease of use of iTreadmill.
SoftwareEngineer,
Perfect!
(From a 41-year-old sofyware engineer.). With 26 years of software development behind me, I feel confident in praising this application as top-notch. As much as software developers strive for features --and rightfully so-- an ugly interface to a robust application can dull the experience quite a bit. This particular application is aesthetically pleasing (i.e. it looks really nice), is easy to navigate, has exactly what features it should have (nothing more, nor less), and has worked flawlessly for me --I found no bugs. On my first usage at the gym, the app registered the exact same 2.12 miles that the treatdmill registered. When I upgraded my iPhone from the 3GS to the 4, it no longer measured accuratly, BUT...I had gotten lucky the first time. Like all pedometers --including stand-alone units-- it must be calibrated to match a user's stride (how long each of your steps are). Once I calibrated, the radings were extremely close to those of the treadmill. The developer seems to have created as perfect an app as possible. The only feature I can think of that might legitimately belong in the app is a heart rate monitor, but without external wiring (like synchronization with an Omron or Timex electrode strap), I don't see how that would be possible.
SgtLip,
Useless
App doesn’t update Apple Health. You have to physically input data into Health app so data can be used elsewhere. No automated enough in 2023.
bruce3216,
Video instruction at the website--WOW!
Even though I just bought the app today, and have used it but once, I decided to submit this review because I was pleased to discover that the developer produced a few videos, viewable on his web site, which provide clear instructions about using his app. That's good because the app has many features, but no featureless bells and whistles.
I've purchased, or downloaded for free, thirty or more apps, none of which, until now, provided anywhere near the instructional support from the moment of purchase as this developer did.
If you use a physical treadmill, you run in place indoors, or walk or run outdoors, I encourage you to check out this app. So far it's well worth the two bucks. I like the design of it, too--the screens are easy to read, especially for me since I wear reading glasses.
Finally, I agree with the reviewer who suggested the placement of the run/walk buttons on the same screen for people who are transitioning from walking to running, or who do both.
Michael W. Perry,
Hiking too
Keep in mind that this app isn't just for exercising. It's an excellent way to measure distances traveled on foot for any reason, particularly if you calibrate it to you specific stride. That makes it handy for hiking or search and rescue work. Need to look for an obscure turnoff 3 miles up a trail? This will tell you when to begin looking. Hiking to a lake that is 5 miles in? This will tell you how close you are at any time. Knowing your location on a trail fixes your location as good as a GPS and it's often a more practical measure of where you are than GPS coordinates.

It could use a few more features. Being able to set it so it alarms after a certain user-set distance could be handy, as could distance measurements in feet, yards and meters as well as miles/kilometers.

All in all, I'm impressed by just how handy this app is and the fact that it continues to work while listening to iTunes. And the speed indication is a good way to push yourself to go just a little faster.
Platinym,
I like it!
I just had a spinal fusion operation performed this past Tuesday and have been ordered to take short walks and increase the distance daily if my body can take it. I used it yesterday for the first time and it seems very accurate. I walked around the house counting my steps. When I stopped, I pulled my iPhone out of my pocket and sure enough it was dead on. I don't have anything else to compare it to, but that alone is close enough for me. Afterwards, I went outside and walked partially down the road and came back. Got .70 miles yesterday, I went too far as my back was more sore than usual for the rest of the day. It's partially due to the app, but mostly because I kept seeing milestones ahead of me and wanted to keep going. Not the app's fault!
Another thing I like about this app is that you can record your exercise history. When I have my post-op appointment with the surgeon next week, I will be able to show him just how far I've come along!

Thank you!!!
hopeful skeptic,
The app I show off the most
This app is a true gift at .99! I love to run and walk with this app on my iPod Touch. I can listen to music at the same time and get every statistic I could possibly want as I go and in the history for looking back later. I especially love the pacer feature that lets you keep the pace you want by keeping your steps in time with the clicking sound.
Accuracy on walking is right on. The running isn't as accurate for me, which I think is because my stride isn't always consistent. My wish for an upgrade is to switch seamlessly between running and walking without have to stop and reset it. More specifically, I wish it could automatically sense when I walk for a stretch during my run.
I highly recommend this app, which does everything those $100+ watches do, and listen to music or podcasts at the same time for a laughable $.99.
jamespaulp,
Cool application restricted by iPhone OS limitaions
I have used it for only one day and I like it. But it has a bunch of limitations. I think many those are limitations of iPhone itself. Here are some of those:
Once you start this application you pretty much cannot do anything else. If you do, the application pauses.
You can definitely start your iPod music/podcast before startng this app and iPod will continue to play. But you cannot go back to iPod while this application continues to run. It will pause.
If you receive a phone call, even if you don't pick up the call, the app will pause. If you pick up the call while walking/running, your activity is not recorded during the conversation.
I haven't tested the "blank screen in pocket" feature but locking the screen pauses the app.
This app would work great if iPhone allowed it to work in the background at least during a phone call. All other things like locking, not going to other app etc are under our control, so, it shouldn't be problem.
Pcd56,
The best pedoeter app ever!!
While I have never written a review for an app before, I feel compelled to write one for the iTreadmill. I am an avid walker and have used may different hand-held pedometers, gps systems and apps. The iTreadmill is by far the most superior pedometer app I have ever seen! It matches the accuracy of my Garmin, but is less clunky, plus I have access to my phone and music! But what I feel makes the iTreadmill superior to others is it's awesome tech support. It is important to understand that this is a highly-precisioned app that is capable of being tuned to your specific walking/running pattern. For those, like me, who discovered that it was not accurrate on my first walk, I found the tech support to be relentless in helping me fine-tune the settings. If you are looking for an accurrate, easy-to-use and fun pedometer app, iTreadmill is the one for you! It us well worth the price! 
