Anyone in Indiana (ages 2+) can now see a highly skilled Indiana University Health provider 24 hours per day, 7 days a week through an online live video with the IU Health Virtual Visits app.

IU Health Virtual Visits is a secure, trusted alternative that works with your busy schedule to bring you and your family convenient access to our providers without having to travel to an office. You will interact with our providers via live, high-quality video and receive a diagnosis and instructions for treatment.

Virtual Visits can be used for, but not limited to, the following symptoms:
• Bronchitis, cold, cough, congestion, fever, flu and other sinus symptoms
• Diarrhea, heartburn, nausea and vomiting
• Cuts, scrapes, sprains, bruises, burns and insect bites
• Hives, pink eye and rash
• Infections, including bladder, yeast or urinary tract infection

We also treat conditions such as acne, allergies, asthma, athlete's foot and back pain.
If you use Apple Health, you can choose to share your health information with the provider during your virtual video visit, such as heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, blood glucose level, weight, nutritional information, and respiratory rate.

Amazing
It is 4 a.m. and I just woke up to prepare my lessons for the day and saw that IU has this virtual visit. As we are all overwhelmed and we think of this virus day and night and even in our dreams, I decided to test the app and plan for a virtual visit to ask about the corona virus symptoms. I entered all my information and it took me one minute to be connected with an amazing nurse. She was very patient and she answered all my questions and discussed my concerns. I told her that I am connected this early just because I am worried and I want to learn, her response was very kind and informative. I am so glad to be part of IU and so thankful for IU health to provide such service. I am sure with all precautions and help we will get over this time. We feel the responsibility of protecting ourselves, families, communities and the world. Stay safe everyone and thanks IU health .

Virtual Success!!
We discovered that my 2 year old had pink eye late in the day on a Friday and we drove 45 minutes to get to the urgent care clinic in Bloomington. When we arrived we found out they were booked until close. Rather than turning us away they gave us the virtual care app. We were able to get into a virtual appointment within 15 minutes and got an immediate prescription sent to the pharmacy!!! We are so excited that we can go virtual instead of make the drive all the way to Bloomington. We will definitely be using this app in the future when we or our kids have issues!

Awesome!
It’s Memorial Day. Doctor office is so I decided to give this a try in the comfort of my own home in my Jammie’s. That alone is a bonus because I really don’t want to sit in a doctors office. I filled out all the questions, gave detailed info and pics. Had a face to face visit. It’s similar to Face Time. Got my scripts sent to the pharmacy and I am one very happy camper 😂. I did wait about 40 minutes which isn’t bad at all considering it’s a Holiday and most Doctors are closed today. Definitely was much quicker than a drive and sitting in a waiting room with a host of germs I don’t want😂. Try it, you will love it!

The first time I used the app, I was unable to do video connection but was able to talk with RN over phone. She was kind, knowledgeable, answered all questions and guided me through what was to happen next.
Today, Emily was amazing! We were able to do web visit. She was patient, supportive and again guided me through the next steps. Both times my anxiety was put to rest by the nurses conducting the virtual visits.

I am proud to say I work with RN’s who show such compassionate care to their team members during this COVID19 crisis!

Why do I have to change my password EVERYTIME!
I have had to use this Virtual service twice now. As per the advice of my cardiologist’s nurse I set up the app a few days before the appt. on the day of the appt when logging in I had to change my password. Just one day after downloading and sitting up the app I had to change my password ???? Not Good. Now 2 weeks later and I had an appt with my Primary Dr and before I could get connected I had to download new changes made to the app, and after the download the stupid system made me change my password again. Enough Is Enough with changing the password!!!!!!!!! If I have to use the Virtual Visit app again and it makes me change my password I will not do it and I Will Don’t Use This App Ever Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful experience
I loved this service. It was easy to sign up. I only waited 5 min and didn’t have to leave my house to be exposed to other illnesses in a doctors office. The doctor I chose was very kind, compassionate and made me feel at ease. I had a UTI and was able to receive an antibiotic called in. The price was so reasonable too. Much better then visiting my convenient care in my area. I will definitely use again and appreciate this service for minor ailments I may need in the future.

I have reactive airway disease and it was a weekend and my regular doctor was not available and I found out I was at a prescription refills on my inhaler. I thought of virtual visits and it was so thorough and so convenient that I got the matter taken care of and I do believe that I received the same quality of care that I would’ve received in the office this is amazing I will be back when I need to be seen on a weekend again

Appreciated the ease of use and intro video. Excellent service from provider - Thank you, IU Health for creating an app that allows us to do screening without having to go in to an office!

Only downside is not knowing 1) if you can leave the “waiting room” to use your phone for other purposes while waiting (maybe a note to users about that would be helpful), and 2) knowing when the camera and mic would be accessed - assumed when the appt began, but a note on how that would work would’ve been helpful.

Virtual visit
Great service offered. Janet was super nice and empathetic.

I would like to suggest that information the patient enters for the visit becomes visible to the provider and populates their chart. It seems unnecessary to repeat it and wastes the provider’s time asking questions that you already should know the answer to, and then manually inputting that data again.

Great app... absolutely a tool of the future
Loved this app! I called and filled out all the info in less than 5 min. I sat on hold in the “waiting room” for a few minutes, but then spoke face to face with a nurse who answered all my questions and problems! It was fantastic, put my mind at ease and made me more confident in how I was feeling and what steps I should take next.
