Hannah Pappah,
Awesome app - best of class
For the past 5 years this app continues to be the best in its class. My daughter has special needs and visual impairments, and every other app like this gets no traction at all. Bravo devs!!!
vogelmeister,
Glad to see the update
I have been waiting to buy this for 5 years. I use an app tracker to alert me when the price changes or the app is update. I was shocked when I saw this get updated after so many years. I can confirm this works great on iOS 10. Very bare bones writing app with letters and numbers, but it is great for my son who is struggling with his dexterity. He uses a stylus to practice his handwriting. Some updates to the graphics or different learning modes would be appreciated.
pooshyoosh,
Best of its kind
Easy for a preschooler to use.
techmiser,
Such a good app for writing the alphabet
Why so few reviews? I think this is a very smart and fun way to learn how to write letters and numbers and do so in the correct direction. The interface visually shows the user how to write the letter. It guides the user throughout with the traditionally correct *order* of the strokes as well as the stroke *direction*. Perhaps it's my Japanese side that makes me a stickler when it comes to handwriting. IMHO, I think there IS a proper way to hand write letters! : )
In addition to its inherent charm (the illustrated words are just sublime--I am guessing the app designer found a precociously artistic child to create to drawings), the child narration is very sweet without being cloyingly so and the cheer is a lovely, rather musical touch. The sound effects are lively and fun (I find I do ask my children to turn it down though when the percussion seems too loud) and...and-And-AND: my two children (a boy and a girl) genuinely enjoyed playing it. Now that they are in the elementary grades, it seems to have run it's course. It was a delight when they were 3 and 4--and 5 too. I highly recommend it for these ages.
Also, I have to say, in the app world, I don't see a lot if soul out there. This app has some soul to it...in terms of the depth and quality of the artwork and the ingenuity and hard work that went into creating it. A cheer to the people who made this! Hurrah!
RuhontheGreat,
Beyond expectations. . . .
I only had to see the lite version for a few seconds before buying this amazing application. I have been hunting for an application ever since I got my iPod Touch that would not only be engaging for my 2 year old but would help him learn. This app. delivers all the goods. Not only does it teach your little one how to write letters in a fun and truly amazing way. It also tells your little one the letter they are writing and, as they practice they are building word recognition skills and counting skills at the same time. My personal favorite feature of this app. is the ability to replay the words your child has written and allow them to see how they wrote out each letter to the word they were building. Amazing app., I honestly expect my little one to accelerate his ability to read and write as we get time to practice our letters in this application. Thank you.
Boofyboof24230,
Great starting point!
I think this app has such incredible potential. I have 5 children which include a 2 yr old and one of my 9 yr old twin boys that has Down syndrome. Both are working on writing. I love love love the way you have a defined starting point with the letter being broken down into stages that are not overwhelming! Also love audio supportive prompts and the approximation level for correctness. I hope that you can add some animation to the letter or picture when written correctly... Some motivation for the kids to want to work on a task that can be very difficult. Some kind of built in reward for getting it correctly... Not sure just a cute picture is gonna be incentive enough for my child with special needs. Also would like to be able to input words for him to work on like his first and last name, address... Maybe even have the ability to upload his photo with his name, or picture of his house to go with his address. Don't get me wrong- I love this app but see such potential as this changing lives for kids with special needs and getting them to write! I've been waiting for something like this to come along and you are so close to perfection! Can't wait for your next update! Thank you for this!
Kenneth Peh,
New Voice Over?? (Updated)
My two years old loved this app. He asked me to write for him and replayed the words over and over. After you change the voice over from the kid voice in the older version to this women, he seems to be put off by it. He would quickly press the home button to exit the app. It's now sitting there of no use. Could you bring back the old voice?

Update: The creator does listen to the voices of every user. This app now includes the option for child voice. My son couldn't be more happy. Appreciate the sincerity of intention to make it better. I have this app since there was only the uppercase letter. Latest update also adds in the number. I would add five more stars for business practice alone. My two years and three months old can now read close to hundred words playing around with it. Great work!
mjhhal,
wonderful
This is a great app. My son has multiple disabilities and he has been struggling with being able to write letters. This app is simple for him to follow and create letters. And the sounds and suction hole are entertaining enough to keep him interested.
I would love to see two minor changes that I think would put the app over the top.
1. Being able to choose which letters you want to practice instead of having to go the whole way through A to Z. My son really struggles with certain letters and this would give him opportunity for extra practice.

2. being able to input word to write such as your childs name. In his school one of his major goals is to be able to write his own name. How cool would it be if he could practice it on this app and actually achieve that goal?
GarciaStation,
Just what I was hoping for.
I just got my IPad and this is the first apps I bought for my kids. It's just what I was hoping for. It is simple and engaging but not over stimulating or distracting. It's set up so that the kids learn to write letters properly and has the option to become more difficult as the child improves their handwriting skills. I really love it and my kids do too. It was totally worth the money. As someone who has never owned anything from Apple, I've had trouble learning how to navigate the apps and use the different settings. The support staff for this app replied to a question I emailed in less than an hour helping me solve my problem. I think it's a great app and that they provide great support service.
NuttyAuntie,
Everyone Loves it!
This app is beautifully crafted to be engaging and fun. It's great for practicing handwriting and reading skills. My special needs teenager who operates at about a 5 year old level chooses this educational ap for its fun quotient. My 3-year old step-granddaughter chooses it for its challenge. My 4 year old twin nephew and niece that I just visited in the UK consistently chose this ap above all others. It really does rank up there with the game aps for young children. They just love it. And it's a real pleasure to see children choose an educational ap amongst all the entertaining ones. They feel a real sense of achievement with this. I love how they can see their actual handwriting after finishing a word. And they always love how they can move the tiles to the spinning vortex trash!
