The JBL Compact Connect is an easy-to-use application for tablets and mobile devices that is designed to offer complete control of up to four JBL EON ONE Compact PA speakers at a time. Featuring Bluetooth audio control, the application gives you free reign over all of the EON ONE Compact’s setting and capabilities. From controlling the speaker’s four-channel digital mixer, to adjusting effects, saving and recalling presets and much more, JBL Compact Connect allows you to easily tailor your speaker to fit your application. Here how to improve this app
The Eon Compact is a decent price of gear, and kudos to JBL for including phantom peer so you can use a wide pickup condenser mic, which is currently popular with small acoustic groups.
That said, there is so much left to be desired in this mixer app. It’s as if whoever made this app is never seen any digital mixer before. Very rudimentary!
For one, the channel eq and output eq screens should be expandable to full screen. Trying to manipulate the EQ buttons on half a screen is tedious at best. Secondly, an RTA that would help find bumps for pulling out feedback would be helpful. Third, the effects and reverbs sound like crap - basically unusable. Some good presets would be nice.
The ability to turn the phone vertically and get a single input channel with real demarcation of a channel strip would make it easier to get the level you want.
Get any 6 users in a focus group and you could improve this immensely. I hope you do, because the controls on the hardware themselves are pretty minimal and for better or worse that’s what you have to use.

Needs improvement
These speakers are awesome but the app to control them is clunky... obviously NOT developed by a professional sound person (or at least OPERATED by a professional sound person or they would have fixed this basic problem before release!)
There are plenty of features but the resolution of the volume sliders is horrible so if you are trying to adjust the volume just a slight touch will move them up or down by several db... quite awkward when trying to control a live performance.
I even tried loading the app on my iPad thinking I would have more range of movement on the sliders but no luck... if they could improve the resolution of the volume controls this app would rock.
This isn’t a Behringer 32 mixer but there’s no reason the app can’t work like their app does!

App unreliable as not app I used before
Im so mad I did not read all this before getting a pair of EON’s. The idea was to manipulate the sound while DJing etc but reliability its BAD. App not able to locate speakers at all sometimes locate one but never both. Changed the names add numbers to the name. NADA. Why this is happening in almost year 2023. Does JBL care about customers. I will try again one more time. But this is so incredible stupid.

So very disappointed
Spent over a thousand dollars on a professional pair of JBL speakers to use for wedding ceremony music and cocktail hours. I was excited to hear these speakers in action. I am using them for “professional” entertainment and have been in the biz 39 years. I can’t afford mis-fires. This app is really non-functional. Just like so many other reviews…the app stopped working after a few minutes!!
What do I do JBL/HK? Seriously…what is my next move?…I have a gig this weekend and it’s Tuesday!
Obviously, I will experiment with running a cable, but one of the selling points was being able to stream to the speakers.
My 14 year old sons waterproof Bluetooth speaker is more reliable and works great streaming :-)

App is unusable
Received a pair of Eon Compacts yesterday. App worked for several seconds (Bluetooth mixer) and no longer loads on either my iPhone or iPad Pro. The option to locate and connect to speakers is no longer visible, although both speakers are on and ready. Bluetooth music streaming to one speaker seems to work although it is of poor quality audio with many audio dropouts from both my iPhone and iPad several feet away. Several hours of troubleshooting and research have yielded no results. Fix this app ASAP, as this battery powered speaker does have potential in remote pro audio applications in groups of two or four, but the app is trash.

Please fix this app
I have been trying for weeks to get this to work. I want to play video and audio media with VLC and have this app broadcast in stereo. I have tried using a Galaxy Note 8, a Tab 6, a Galaxy Tab S6, an IPad Air (3rd gen) and now an iPad Pro 11”. I pair 1 speaker with the device and start the app. I link speakers “A” and “B” in the app and setup BT broadcast for a host (left) and remote (right). Playback is full of glitches, dropouts, speeds up and slows down. If this software actually works I wish JBL would provide some information. Otherwise it is useless for performance. Would be fantastic if it worked. Not what I expect from JBL Professional speakers.

Overall great little system!
I purchased 2 Jbl eon one compact speakers. I have yet to test them on an actual gig, but the speakers sound great out of the box. It would be nice to see JBL do a little more with the app, such as channel mutes and a little more control over the Bluetooth channel when using two speakers you have to go back and forth to each mixer for the BT settings. The EQ pages are great! Overall though a great small venue basic system.

not working
i have the same exact problem as the other two gentlemen or ladies. I just bought a pair of these speakers right out of the box i was able to connect them to the app and now nothing. the app only opens and it does nothing. i noticed something not mentioned though, the front LED on the bottom of the speaker is now off when powered on, it comes on as soon as turn the speaker on and then is goes off after a few seconds and yesterday when one speaker stoped working with the app the one that was still able to be visible in the app had the LED on.

First review ever just for the work app experience ever
I can connect a speaker and play music through my phone but the app still won’t recognize of sync the speaker.
I’m playing music through the speak then when I open the app it doesn’t even show up. I can do this with each speaker I have but they don’t show up in the app. Terrible app, interface and user experience.

cannot update to 5.1.4 & bluetooth streaming is still ng on 5.1.2
tried ducking+mic/line & ducking+phantom, tried reinstalling this app, tried forgetting the speaker in bluetooth, tried restarting phone, tried restarting ipad. repeat. change order methodically. no dice. I wouldn’t care about 5.1.4 if not for the promise of being able to send audio via bluetooth without intermittent drop outs (complements of 5.1.2 or this app or both I dunno).
