Quality app made by educators.
As a Latin Teacher, classicist, and Scholar of Semitic languages, I can say this app is amazing. Language instruction is part of my daily life, and this app is using best practices. As a speaker of both Mandarin and Latin, and with advanced degrees in Ancient Greek and Hebrew, I can say that this app exposes learners to authentic Semitic grammar and phonology in a fun and experiential way. I’ve never used an language app or book that made learning Arabic this painless. The lessons are bite sized, but they stick in your brain.
Excellent pacing and scaffolding so that the learner is exposed and challenged without being overwhelmed.
The only knock on the app is that they don’t have the Shargi dialect (KSA gulf) which I need to learn because all my friends are from Khafgi.

Best Arabic (w/ Colloquial Dialects) App!!
FINALLY!! This is it! I have looked for and tried so many apps to learn arabic but none worked. I found a fun one with games but only teaches MSA and I want Colloquial Egyptian. Found it. I am using this for supplemental practice to my private lessons but can stand alone..so far as I have experienced. I am not advanced. Still learning the letters on the app while I learn spoken conversation w/my tutor. This is making it so much easier to remember how a word sounds because English does not have all the sounds found in arabic and writing out how a word sounds in roman letters only takes you so far. - anyway I highly recommend this app for practice and learning. Oh.. and its free!!!!

One of a kind
As a non-native speaker I am blown away by Kaleela’s Amiyah options. No other app on the market right now offers such a comprehensive amount of dialect curriculum. For those looking to learn something besides MSA, this is the app for you. Completely worth your money.

Great, Helpful & Enjoyable
Kaleela helps to fill a pretty sizable gap in the language learning sphere. MSA materials outnumber colloquial dialect materials by about a million to one, however Kaleela provides structured, fairly comprehensive courses in several different Arabic dialects as well as MSA. To me, this is awesome for learners in the beginner and intermediate levels. I’ve been using Kaleela to learn the Egyptian colloquial dialect and I have both enjoyed it a lot and found it very useful.
Not only are there hundreds of lessons for each dialect and MSA, but there also are courses specifically for the alphabet and grammar. The grammar course only applies to MSA for the most part, but is an awesome addition for learners who appreciate getting a grasp on grammar as a foundation. I feel that everything I’ve learned on Kaleela so far has been relevant and something I could genuinely use in conversation. Also it’s not required that you go in order, so even if you’re not a complete beginner, you can dive straight into more advanced topics.
Despite being a great course, there are a couple things I wish could be improved, such as the voice recognition. It’s a little finicky, but does often work for shorter phrases and especially single word answers. I also wish that the app focused more on listening to the native speakers. What I mean is just that when answering questions, I wish it were always possible to listen to the individual answer choices. Often I have to go to the “hint” to listen to the answer spoken by the native speaker. These are pretty minor problems though and I can’t really justify taking a star away just for a small personal preference. Anyway, Kaleela isn’t super cheap, but it’s also not expensive for the materials that you’re getting. I think the price is more than justifiable for having access to several dialects, MSA, & the grammar and alphabet courses.
Will Kaleela on its own deliver you to full fluency? No, and I don’t believe any single app or course could ever do that. However, it’s a really good course that is quite comprehensive and so far for me, it has laid an excellent foundation for future learning. If you’re thinking about whether or not you should get Kaleela, try the free three topics they offer, and try the month subscription. I think anyone who is learning Arabic at the beginner or even intermediate level will be glad they tried it.

Possible scam
I paid for a subscription and have been locked out of everything on the app. It continues to prompt me to pay for a subscription I already have. I have emailed the customer support team with no response.

New version requires a subscription
Their release notes don’t tell you this, but the new version requires a subscription. So if you have been using the app it might be better to not update to the latest version.

Needs work. There aren’t a lot of options to learn Arabic, so I tried to subscribe. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t let me past entering the password. Deleting the app.
