Description

The Kalimba is an African musical instrument consisting of a wooden board (often fitted with a resonator) with attached staggered metal tines, played by holding the instrument in the hands and plucking the tines with the thumbs. The mbira is usually classified as part of the lamellaphone family and part of the idiophone family of musical instruments.

Members of this broad family of instruments are known by a wide variety of names. The kalimba is also known as marímbula and mbria in the Caribbean Islands.

My lovinn A pp

This app has really good sound. So I was super bored just playing the harp game that I downloaded off my phone, of course my parent had to approve the request to download it, and your guises music games are actually really great, I’m going to be downloading some more of your guises apps soon and I’m going to write really good five star review, please developers come see this review, your app is truly great, including Harp Real, I like the Celtic sounds, and Columbus sounds just like a lullaby box, and it’s good to play babies lullabies, and people should be playing this game more often, when I’m in adult and one of you guys see me playing this game you guys are going to ask what are you playing and I’m gonna say I’m playing Kalimba Real kalimba real and then I’m going to say that you guys should download it, and you guys should download download it actually, because it’s really good and fun and it’s good for children to learn how to play the kalimba

Great features!

I love that it comes pre-loaded with tabs and you can download more created by other users, or even make your own. It also has exercises you can do for warmups and practice, and even touches on music theory. It honestly has a lot more stuff than I thought it would. Only complaint is that there is some lag between the microphone picking up the sound from my real kalimba and the sound being registered in the app, so it’s easy to get ahead of the tab if it doesn’t register a note you played. But it’s not that big a deal as you can export the tabs as pdf anyway.

Excellent app!

In anticipation of my Kalimba, I have been using this app to practice. I am addicted! Had a question and the developer responded quickly, thank you! I just wish there was an option to save frequently played tabs instead of scrolling or searching for them. And a big thank you to the individuals that share their tabs in PDF format! Never played any instrument or knowing how to read notes, with this app I am able to play music!!!

Best kalimba app!

First off I love that this app actually teaches you scales and lessons as a beginner! This isn’t just some hokey game like the rest of them! The sound is great, the lessons don’t make you feel rushed and you don’t get scores which I like! You have a good selection of songs that are labeled for beginners or higher skill levels. Very happy with this app, I’d love to actually buy a kalimba now!

Excellent music trainer

The sound is pleasant and accurate to my physical Kalimba, and being able to display notes on the keys is a great teaching aid. I’m just touching on the tabs function now, but can tell it’s going to be fun and educational. The song tutorials are valuable as a way of teaching chord combinations and how they can be used.

In short, I’m very happy with this app and will continue to use it daily.

Not easy to use, sound quality, intrusive ads

I think the technology here assembled in the right way could actually be a pretty decent app but the attention to detail in different places just makes it not work.

I understand ads if people have to make money - but they’re so disruptive so often here it doesn’t give you a chance to get into the flow

The quality of the Keylimba sound is not great, doesn’t sound like real life, even for an app it doesn’t sound as good as the other unity-based app in the App Store, though that has less functionality. The samples should be redone with care.

Using all the features is not very intuitive, I don’t think a UX professional helped at all or gave input here.

It looks like most of the development work has been done here, some attention to detail could make this a perfectly fine or even excellent app.

Please add full music!

I really like this app! My only suggestion is to make it more accessible to practice the songs. I would really like to be able to see the entire song and not have to play through it each time to learn the next set of notes.

I’ve been wanting one for years now and I tried many apps, but some don’t work like I want them to. When I found this one, it turned my feeling a full 180°. Keep up the good work!

I found a bug

I downloaded the app to practice when my actual thumb piano arrives in the mail the app works fine with head phones but it won’t work for the phone speaker i checked if the speaker was broken but works fine for playing video audio does anyone know how to fix this

Extremely frustrated, spent hours trying to get it to work

I ONLY hear sound during Autoplay. I don’t know what the purple stripes mean. I don’t know what the little radar symbol means. I can’t get a sound out of it. Yes, my volume is on. There are no instructions, no explanations, no help system, no FAQ, no website with instructions, I even bought the Royal version, but I can’t even get a sound to play.
