Description

KetoLogger will help you quickly and easily log and graph your ketone and glucose readings.

Enter your glucose and ketone readings with ease via the simple to use entry screens. Both mg/dL and mmol/L glucose units are supported.

You can import the CSV files from the KetoMojo meter app*.

The graph tab helps you visualize your glucose vs. ketone readings with a line graph. Quickly see how you're doing with a glance. Jump quickly between date ranges to get the best picture of your progress.

The history view lets you see your readings. Either glucose, ketones or using a "Both" view. In the Both view matching glucose/ketones readings are paired and the GKI is calculated.

Easily export all your readings in CSV format (Two formats to chose from).

A "backup manager" maintains the last few versions of the database. These can be restored or exported. Share your database between devices.

If there's a feature that's missing please let us know at: [email protected]

GKI graphing is in the works (not sure when it will be done) but was originally skipped because I figured that graphing ketones vs glucose creates a kind of visual GKI. See my thought on GKI here:

Keto Logger was inspired when a family member was following a ketogenic diet for health reasons. For a programmer logging and graphing ketones in a spreadsheet is not too challenging. For most other people probably a huge challenge. Keto Logger was created so that anyone with an iOS device can log and graph their ketone and glucose readings. (Also I personally have been following a low carb/ ketogenic diet since about 2003.)

(* CVS import is tricky and will break if the exported format changes. If import fails then please send a mail to [email protected] so we can figure out what's wrong and fix it.)

CBB413,
Beautifully Simple Data Tracker
I’ve been keto for years now, but recently gotten into intermittent and extended fasting so I decided I wanted to do more comprehensive tracking to see how fasting affects my levels vs. just keto alone. I have pretty much tried every app available that tracks ketones and glucose, and only one even comes close to matching the functionality of KetoLogger. KetoLogger wins hands down because of its ease of use. No clutter from things I don’t need like meal logging/intro to keto articles/social functions. I have other apps for food logging and just wanted something where I could easily see my ketones and glucose in one place, and as a data lover the overlaid graphs is a huge plus. Don’t be afraid to pull the trigger on the price, you’ll get way more out of it than your daily Starbucks coffee. For advanced ketoers, this app is just pure gold.

Also, I contacted the developer about a small issue, and he his response was quick and thorough. He’s got plans for updates, so the app is only going to get better!
RainbowPeacock7,
Simple Great App!
I make it a rule not to buy apps that do not offer free samples, and this one doesn't. I hesitated for a few days before I hit the "Buy" button, but I'm glad I did.

I had been searching for an app to log blood ketone and glucose levels. I've been on a low carb diet. I wanted to 1) make sure I'm in ketosis, which is my goal of being on a low carb diet, and 2) measure how much impact certain food has on my glucose/ketone levels.

I searched and tried a number of apps (free and freemiums) but none of them were satisfactory. Some require a lot of taps and key strokes. Others are designed for people with diabetes, which I am not, and lacking ability to track ketone levels. Most apps that have "keto-" in their names focus on diet, asking you to enter a whole bunch of information on what you eat. I don't care any of that. I have a ketone/glucose meter so I know if I am in ketosis or not by measuring the blood ketone level, without having to enter all the food data.

This app addresses my needs exactly. As the screenshots show, it has easy "dial" to enter values with time of entry, displays graphs to see the ups and downs. Very easy to use. Minimal taps required.

A few things to be desired in future updates... 1) Connectivity to iOS's Health App. 2) Option to enter food intake (meals & snacks) to track what triggers changes in ketone/glucose levels.

But overall, it's a perfect app. Highly recommended
BrightGTR,
Worth it
Experimenting with low carb, keto, and fasting. This app provides a visual representation, and helps me see important relations between
(On the one hand)
—my nutrition (or lack of!) in the last few hours, and
—how I feel

And (on the other)

—my blood sugar, and
—my ketone (alternate fuel/fuel from fat) levels

With this, in time, I hope to have a strong internal sense of these.

So, it’s incredibly important, what this app helps us do. And I’m pleased with how it does it.

One suggestion might be adding the readings for hematocrit and hemoglobin, which these blood tests also provide. Another would be allowing the app to sync with keto mojo, et al, test company apps. . .

And this brings me to another point. I suggested this to the maker of the app. He was incredibly responsive. And said he was already on one of those. My hat is off to him.

I have no relation, financial or otherwise, to the app or it’s maker. But I’ve found it useful. And given that the costs of a blood test or two exceed the cost of this app, I don’t think you can go wrong in using it to track many of these tests. It is the best app I’ve found to do so. And in doing so, it does not require sharing a lot of personal info either
A2Fords,
KetoLogger is meets the need
KetoLogger is a pretty simple application, but it gets the job done. It would be nice if an additional graft was added to show the GKI (Glucose-Ketone Index) over the ranges such as:
Anything above 9 means your body has not transitioned into a fat-burning state.
A 6-9 GKI demonstrates a low level of ketosis: This is appropriate for those who want to lose weight or maintain optimal health.
A 3-6 GKI demonstrates moderate levels of ketosis: This is appropriate for addressing many common metabolic diseases including insulin resistance, Type 2 diabetes, or obesity.
A less than 3 GKI is a high level of ketosis: This is typically used for addressing epilepsy and cancers. Entering this high level of ketosis periodically each year can be beneficial for anyone hoping to use ketosis for disease prevention.
PMC1720,
Simple and Easy!
I wanted an app that could clearly and quickly show my glucose and Ketone levels. It would be great if Apple health app allows you to enter ketone levels but so far it doesn’t. This is a simple, easy app to use and you shows me quickly exactly what I want to see. I wish there was an input for weight, as I would like to see how weight loss correlates with Ketone levels and blood glucose levels. Also, I entered my data twice for one day and can’t figure out how to delete one if the entries. No swipe left delete which would be a great added feature.
DMRrrrr,
Perfect!
This app is just what I was looking for. It’s simply a place to log glucose and ketone results. You can see the results on a graph over time. You can also see the Glucose to Ketone ratio. Thanks for this great app. One enhancement I would suggest is to allow custom tags for the results. I typically test before and after meals. Sometimes also after exercise and after coffee. I would like to be able to compare results across the same tag. Even without this, the app is amazing.
EdNash,
UPDATED Review
****UPDATE 8/21****

The developer responded to me quickly and helped me to make changes to my file (which had been corrupted and had some minor errors e.g. capitalizing the header fields). The import worked perfectly...five stars for the app and the quick service. Thanks Rob!

I have tried to edit my .csv to the exact detail required and it will still not import. I have sent a file forward and will re-evaluate my rating and review if/when the developer can fix the app.
Casebeer,
Good tracker for people interested in dietary ketosis
This is pretty basic and easy to use. I like the ability to view ketones and glucose on the same screen. I really like that it automatically calculates the glucose-ketone index. Here are my asks: (1) Apple Health integration so I only have to enter my glucose once across all my apps (2) GKI plot showing benefit zones (e.g. fat loss, cancer prevention, etc.)
Prabs99,
Cannot edit once recorded
Not sure why this app has such a high rating. This app is way worse and frustrating than the free one I was already using. This app does not allow to edit the entry once a record is saved. That’s a bad design.

Note to developer: if you are going to charge for an app, first please provide the most basic feature for a tool. No editing... that’s laughable for a logging app.

I hope this concern is fixed soon in upcoming updates; then it may deserve a 3 star. UI and controls need a lot of work too. It is messy and clunky AF.
RandomKeto,
Great App
This is a fantastic and simple app for tracking glucose and ketones. The only thing that would improve it would be to have an optional Notes field for each reading where you could note things like fasting, intense workouts, foods, etc. The app is definitely worth the money.
