Charts too narrow to read
To the developers:

Please improve the analysis features on this app. I don’t want to see my weight or blood sugar, just the Ketonix measurements. But because you left space for the other measurements the ketonix chart is way too narrow. It goes up by increments of 20. I’d need increments of 5 to see where I’m really up to. My data points blend together and I wind up having to visit the “edit” portion of the app to see prior measurements.

This is a shame because you obviously put a lot of thought and effort into the hardware. Please update the app so users have the experience you’re after.
AKA:TINK,
Working great for me
I have my profile set up and save my data consistently.

As for the Ketonix breathalyzer, I was doing that all wrong. Directions!

Read the directions and ensure you are completely emptying your lungs. No need to inhale first!

The app is easy to use and being able to analyze day, week, month, year and customize your results are fantastic.
DNA-IKE,
Sloppy app for a good piece of hardware.
The hardware for Ketonix breath analyzer is pretty decent. It has a little bit of a learning curve, and needs time to warm up but overall it’s a solid way to measure ketosis. The app however is very sloppy and appears to have had little effort in its design. The device connects well with the app and measures well, but the worst part of the app is it’s analysis tab. Virtually all features within that tab appear to have no function nor is there any explanation how they should be used. You can plot your readings within specific date ranges, unfortunately it does not display informative time markers for the readings on the X axis. It just shows “12pm” multiple times across the axis label. Three trend lines can be displayed. The first is the actual levels displayed in a blue line, then there is a linear trend line shown in green, and then a third ambiguous curvilinear trend line listed as “MAV” in pink. There is no explanation as to what this is nor does there appear to be any explanation of it on the website. The app will give you the info you need to know but it’s very crude.
TheRealTomRose,
Not usable
Wow. I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing. Spent $100 for an app that is basically unusable.

I was able to get this to display some data from a reading, but I have 0 confidence that it means anything reliable.

There are no obvious units, measurements are highly erratic and change by a factor of 2 in back to back measurements. It says ppm in one place, but that measurement doesn’t match with the chart which is unit-less.

There is no way to view saved data after 7-days. The app is full of greyed out buttons. Such as the “custom” button on the analysis tab that looks like it might show past data but instead does nothing. There is no place to perhaps upgrade the setting or something.

This app is a prototype at best for proof of concept only. Not for use by a paying customer.

I’m a scientist and am accustomed to using technical equipment, so I am willing to deal with somewhat inscrutable equipment, but this doesn’t even allow me to get to the point of useful data in the first place.
allstar-appreview,
Hardware seems to work fine, app is poor
The app is only functional for actual measurement, and at least in that regards seems reasonable.

The other functions of the app such as graphing, saving, comparing/analyzing do not seem to work at all for me. Having the data day or week to week comparisons working properly would be highly useful.

For the basic function of determining whether not you are in ketosis you just get a color coded numeric answer, but there’s no overall interpretation so it takes some amount of digging in documentation to determine how to interpret the measurement.

Please take the time to update the app to meet the standards of the good hardware you produced!
stocdj32,
Does what it's supposed to do
Not sure what all the negativity is about. If all the app did was measure breath acetone levels and chart it, that alone is worth 5 stars imo (but it does other things as well). Device works perfectly for me. Just make sure you charge it completely before using, turn your phone's Bluetooth on and you're good to go.
USCoisa,
Pay for hardware get lame app
Wish I would have known I needed this app to make the hardware work. More accurately, I wish the app functioned better than a grade school coding project. Takes 5-10 minutes to connect, gives lousy interpretation of ketosis readings. Reverted back to peeing on a stick. The whole point in investing $100+ was to get precise readings to be able to know the immediate effects of specific changes in diet and exercise, that’s what the site sold me on when I bought the hardware. Disappointed, save your money, or maybe the company will eventually take some of the revenue and invest it in a high school kid to recode the app.
erynnsheakelly,
Doesn’t connect to either desktop or iPhone Bluetooth
Worthless. I have a brand new desktop and a brand new iPhone so I know nothings wrong with either of those. Both devices say the Bluetooth is turned on. But this key tonics device will not connect via Bluetooth to either one of them. So I can’t use the app. If I want to measure my key tones, I have to sit at my desk top computer and plug it in with the USB. Saving measurements to my profile takes at least a good five minutes, and I can’t find anywhere that tells me what the readings mean. The instructional videos are a joke.
loydhurn,
Ketonix Bluetooth
Overall, I have been impressed with the breath analyzer. Wish it would warm up faster. Very slow. Since I have received the unit, I have had no problems. Suggestion would be to make it compatible with Myfitnesspal so I could see the effects of carbs and tracking my macros. Thanks, Loyd Hurn
catchjones,
Help Please! Bad Experience! Don’t recommend!!!
The hardware looks nice but doesn’t function! The app is awful and won’t let me create a new profile to use. Instead you have to use the default. The device connects and says its ready. But doesn’t measure anything. This is an expensive device, the app should be stellar and the hardware should work. I will be returning this if I don’t get a response with help and if the app is not improved immediately!
