Description
Social-emotional learning is a priority, especially during these uncertain times. Kind Screen is a research-backed learning app which was supported by a fellowship from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. This version of Kind Screen is most appropriate, but not limited to, children who are 6 to 10 years old.
This app is unique in that it leverages beloved stories from movies to help adults and children work on social-emotional learning! You can touch on situations kids see in movies to work on strategies for Kindness, like curiosity, listening, understanding, and helping. Children and adults use Kind Screen together to have guided conversations, do activities outside the phone, and earn awards such as paper toys they can build together.
- Redeem screen time spent watching movies for learning
- Use effective guided conversations built by educational experts
- Do real world activities outside the phone
- Earn medals and build space paper toys
- Adults and children bond, learn, and have fun!
For this first version of the app, we have built lessons on Kindness. Soon, we’ll add lessons for many more skills.
Kind Screen is meant to be used by an adult and a child at the same time. The adult becomes the mission leader in this adventure. And kids are junior explorers.
